  1. For all we know, it could be one the construction worker's family and they are just shown around of what he has built. The music was abit dramatic in that video too...
  2. You might want to re-check your post. And yes, the holidays are the busiest times of the year. However, March is still reasonably busy, especially with a new ride just installed.
  3. The Ride It First winners will ride it first then I pressume that the rest of the guests will be riding after on their allocated times.
  4. For those who don't know, you can collect tokens from The Sun newspapers for free adult tickets (2 per reader) to Alton Towers.More information: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/fun/c...ticle829181.ece
  5. Of course. But it sounds like they have it planned Speaking of Annual Pass Day, I am waiting for the main opening on Saturday because I have college on Friday. I really couldn't care less about riding if 'first' either, unless I was the actually one the 8 riding the very first train (which isn't going to happen).
  6. You can pretty much judge how the queue time will be by seeing where the end of the queue stops. A 2 hour queue for Colossus, I would assume that the queue would just be coming out of the first tunnel (depending on train operation). Seeing as there was only 1 train operation during that week, maybe even longer. Don't forget that break-downs occur commonly, so that can add a lot of the time to your wait. Never depend on what the time on the signs say!
  7. Quote from http://www.annual-pass.com/news_events/SAW_preview.asp The style they have informed us with sounds like they 'know' it's going to happen
  8. I don't have a favourite, because I have too many. The top 3 that come to my head would be Finding Nemo, Toy Storey and Land Before Times. I haven't seen Wall-E yet, sounds very good from what I hear.
  9. What? Thorpe Park is to blame then. I enjoy my day how I want to enjoy my day (reasonably of course), without trying to sound selfish. I have done it plenty of times and I doubt anything would change if I did it again. It's just one of my habbits. Anyway, I intend to do just leaving the station anyway, it's kind of impossible for me to reach the back of the seats anywhere else on the ride (that's when it becomes to get dangerous).
  10. Will the refurbishment increase the scale of the ride?
  11. Very similar to mine I also try to get to the back of the Flying Fish (when I decide to ride it anyway) and I think the ride seems much more better on Slammer on the right side.
  12. I don't see how that could happen. A few more of mine:- I sometimes try to touch my toes when riding Rush- I am always the first person to exit Vortex, as nearly everyone struggles lifting their restraints- I always end up getting a Strawberry Cheesecake BK Fusion at Burger King just into the evening and sit by Stealth for a little rest- I seem to 'automatically' cover the side of my head with my hands just after leaving the first corkscrew on Colossus because there is where my head bashes onto the restraint- My eyes seem to also 'automatically' on the bunny hop on Stealth (too much wind rush)- Majority of my visits last year (over half) I purchased the Ultimate Fastrack (even with friends) and I have easily rode Stealth at least 30 times each visit
  13. I must say, Nemesis Inferno (back row) was very intense in the dark. But my favourite is Stealth (at the front) because the view is amazing from the top. May well of been Detonator, but I haven't quite experienced that in the dark, yet...
  14. I feel that these forums could do with this topic, traditions (rituals) at Thorpe Park. So, do you have any?I have tons, so here are some:- I aways head for Detonator first (soon to be replaced with Saw), followed by Stealth then Nemesis Inferno (then I head up towards Colossus)- I 'attempt' bend the rubber restraints on Stealth- I always try to keep my feet on the lights when walking in the X:/ No Way Out inside queue- I always eat Burger King (nearby Stealth)- When riding Nemesis Inferno, I rest my feet on the back of the seats infront (mainly just exciting the station)- On Stealth, I never look straight, I always look to the side- I always seat on the end seat on Samurai
  15. I'd be gutted to see X:/ No Way Out go. It's not the most thrilling ride in the park, but it isn't the least! The ride gives me plenty of giggles and I still love it. Of course, I am not saying it can't be improved, but it isn't that bad. However, it's my opinion.
  16. I suddenly had the urge to reply to this. That would an awful idea. The ride is very similar to most Euro-Fighters (Saw in this case) and the capacity is bad. I would also imagine it would be very 'squashed' between the side of Nemesis Inferno and would most likely require to remove the lovely trees down towards Canana Creek.
  17. In my opinion, it is such an arkward space to fit a decent ride there. I was thinking one of Mack's Splash Battle rides (actually that would be perfect for Chessington). Obviously themed with Nemesis Inferno (such as the Volcano). But the question is, would it really fit? Or perhaps an open space that would be useful for the park's events throughout the year, especially Fright Nights for The Asylum.
  18. I'm confused, what is the blue 'hut' for?
  19. The actual queue lines look so narrow.
  20. Same with most coasters really. The back is deffinatly where you feel the most force.
  21. EventsI think Thorpe Park are fine with events towards the end of the season, but there is far more potential during the Easter periods along with the summer.I would love to see Be Discovered return. But I would love to see the park themed as if it was Madame Tussands. The only way you could tell you was at a Be Discovered event was crossing the bridge then into the Dome. Perhaps adding spotlights at the entrance and a few disco lights around the park for night time with a few red carpets here and there. Would be good if they actually brang in some well-know British artist such as Leona Lewis and perhaps up the reward abit for the winner of the competitions? How about riding Colossus with Leona Lewis along with an Annual Pass for you and 3 of your other family/friends? I would see a lot more people taking part. For the summer, I liked Marks' idea about the party on the beach. But, there isn't enough room on the beach. So, why not have some sort of parades going on around the park and maybe mass waterfights? Or also what Jame's mentioned about the lake.Ride ImprovementsAs mentioned already, some of the rides can do a use of a little paint. Especially Colossus and even Nemesis Inferno could do with a lick of paint here and there. Either that, or a good old shining. I also think that Zodiac needs to get re-themed as also stated. What also could help improve the rides are little additions such as strobe lights on X:/ No Way Out and maybe a little flame on Detonator's lift as it drops.I have a lot of suggestions, but for now I only have soo much time.
  22. For all we know, the fans may actually be used. If the fans are damaged then I can't see how they would work. Maybe they should add some red paint to symbolize blood. Other than that, the theme looks amazing!
  23. With their over-pricing, I am sure that isn't a problem!
  24. Remember most of the televisions in the queue lines are vandalized.
  25. Thorpe Park is an amazing theme park and has developed a lot over the years. But, there is always room for improvements around the park so do you have any suggestions? I am very interested to see what everyone has in mind and perhaps some of our suggestions may even been seen (seeing this is the official fansite for Thorpe Park). Try suggesting things that will improve and develop:- Atmosphere: What coud the park do to give more of an atmosphere in areas and rides? Or just the park as a whole?- Guest experience: What could the park do to make the guest experience far better? What would put a smile on everyones faces? What would you do to make them return to the park?- Ride experience: How can the rides create more of an experience rather than the ride itself? What would you do to take the ride into the next level? Also think about:- Activites- Advertising- Entertainment- Events- Interactivity- Staff- Systems- Theme- The park in generalBasically, suggest anything that you think will be good for the park. Although, don't suggest things such as new rides. Also try to make suggestions as realistic as possible (things that the park can carry out).I will make a list for all the suggestions made and hopefully the list will grow as time proceeds. Don't be afraid to share your suggestions!
