after seeing storm surge for myself today I whole heartedly agree with the comments made it is an eye sore! The map shows huts but there none, the top of the ride looks awful and the mass of supports yes there is some theming but much more can be done it looks like a fairground ride dumped in the middle of the park.

2013: The Park entrance is improved as mentioned in the MTDP and is given the theme of British Royalty with comedic themed scenes such as Henry the eighth chopping of a woman’s head with a guillotine and the woman rolling her eyes, Bloody Mary water feature with blood pond, a sword in a stone and the ticket booths themed around the London Dungeons/Towers and general foliage and the bridge is extended as also mentioned.2014: Work begins on the parks hotel. A Fabri Booster opens on the Neptune’s Beach site named Trident and themed around Neptune and his Trident and also featuring Trident Gum sponsorship though not overbearing and in a comedically themed way.2015: Theme Park:The emphasis returns to area’s once again with general theming being updated to coincide with the themed rooms.Thorpe Park resort:The hotel opens featuring a health club, boardwalk night club area, Amity Bar, Neptune’s Diner, dining area, conference rooms and 250 bedrooms, ten of which are themed, Saw room, Amity Room, Calypso Quay Room, Lost City Room, Neptune’s Room, Canada Creek, Swarm room, three rooms are not opened yet as for the future. There is also the planned boat service to the park so that the guests can arrive ahead of opening.Work begins on a new roller coaster on the island behind the Swarm.2016:Asgardian Acre:The area features a large rock themed building which inside is themed around a cavern and houses the station for Saga, restaurant, toilets, ride exit and shop and has a general themed of a temple to the Asgardian Gods. Saga – a Mack Launched Coaster:The queue line starts of inside with an attacked shrine to Odin and then exits outside and re-enters to the station which is themed around a great hall with the god’s figures sitting in their seats and one empty seat.The goddess Saga is then heard saying I see across the hall an empty chair, held in readiness for the last hero who was never chosen…The ride then turns and drops down through a cavern themed area with head chopper effects with two bunny hop’s and a banked curve turn and s-bend and screams are heard and flashing with the large shadow of Perrikus killing a man the ride then stops as Saga’s figurine is lit up and Saga is heard telling the riders that they must become their hero, Perrikus is then light up on the opposite side and proclaims that he will kill them as Saga is lit in red and heard crying, Perrikus proclaims it is then their turn and the ride launches out of the cavern and climbs up a hill turning and dropping down again through a rock arch and performs a large overbanked turn which features another head chopper effect passing through the bottom with a collapsed pillar and then turns and performs an air time hill then performing a twisted horseshoe roll climbing a hill and entering the cavern again to perform a spiral drop with Perrikus in the centre who cries out and lights up Red, the ride then break runs into another station lit red where the riders exit and the trains then rolls back into the station empty with sinister laughter played to those waiting to board.Leir: Ride exit and area shop in the cavern.Norse Banquet: A restaurant themed around the Norse God’s banquet hall.Toilets.Two spaces are left free for rides as mentioned in the MTDP.Hotel: Asgardian Acre room is opened.2017:A quiet year for the park with general updates and touch ups such as repaints and theming improvements, replacements etc.2018:Plans for a building where MHFS stood are submitted and accepted and work begins underway for the building themed around a large tree base.2019:Ranger County has kept its name but has been re-themed to features wooden spike top blood hands printed fencing with emphasis on poachers being the basis of the theme.Prey:A Vekoma I-ride in a hut themed building on the site of MHFS.The ride starts off with flying as a bird with climbing and then a poacher begins shooting at the bird causing it to spin chaotically to avoid the shots however it is shot and the riders fall facing the ground, the bird then struggles and attempts to fly causing the riders to shake up and down and then the riders are caught by a lion and are shaken around again as they are dragged up a rock by the lion another lion runs in and attacks the lion who drops the bird and it is knocked over the edge of the cliff causing the riders to drop again and the ride ends, the ride features graphic display of the journey with large screen projectors.

I wasn't really talking about you, all you mentioned was one song you didn't like that they did thought there was no need for the rubbishy words that added no explanation as to why you didn't like, I was talking about those who have commented on this topic solely to just moan and sniping.

Don't like it don't comment some people enjoy the programme, the cast, the characters, the songs, what it stands for and some of you have proven that you don't like things you like critisiced I.e the rubbishness of eastenders so treat other people who enjoy programmes with the same courtesy, it's not rocket science

we got there straight away and we to only went because it was free as my friend had got some air miles for opening a bank account, have to try waiting around maybe another time untill the end of the day, thanks for the advice

I went to the London Madame Tussauds with my friends over the weekend and we found it kind of bitter sweet really.I was just wondering if there where times when it was less busy, we found it a nightmare, it seemed like such a small space and was really crowded, people where pushing and barging everywhere and it was difficult to get pictures without being shoved or someone walking in the way and then several of the figurines we were excited for weren't there unfortuntely which I know can't be helped but it didn't help our experience and plus we thought that we would be able to go back through later and see if it was any less busy, but we went through and found we couldn't go back and missed out on those popular waxworks that it was a real battle to get near.It was good but the ammount of people and over crowding rather ruined it for us, so we where hoping to visit again during the less busy period.

I would like something diffetrent but I do remember plans for a flat ride adjacent to fish on the MTDP that I always thought looked as though it was in the beach area however I didn't expect them to act so soon if it is. Could we be seeing a new flat aswell as the coaster next year?

Interesting find and that wouldn't suprise me if I'm honest the park are aimed at thrill seekers so I can see why they feel such a large young familuy attraction may not be worthy of the space it occupies, that is if they are planning on removing it, I would hope that they are just looking to improve it as I feel it is a missed oppurtunity.

Just needed somewhere to ven but ggrrrrrr! my god does anybody else find it so annoying when you know there are people who fake, awful, vile nasty people and then you see people on facebook becoming friends with them and hanging out and what not and its annoying because you hate them and you don't want to see what they are doing and you don't want to see people you thought had better taste hanging around with someone like that because its seriously driving me round the bend pictures poping up and what not its like seriously I thought you would be smarter than that?

I don't like the way he looks at this either but that fact is this is how theme parks in the majority look at things, is this worth it, wil it give me more money. Though of course as they mentioned about speaking to staff who gave them advice it shows that they do care about their fan boys etc in the respect that we expect higher standards of theming and depth in rides than the general public do and this why they have said if you can get enough interest in signatures the manager can look over this and review it. Because as said before many times the general public don't go to theme parks because they look nice as such they just go because they want to ride the rides.

perhaps the idea of the swarm comes from the masses of wasps I've encountered in their queue lines? perhaps they think that this means they won't have to theme the queue as the wasps can be the theme themselves

the website looks amazing loving the visuals of the park and of the area behind the video, just waiting for it to load know eeeek! an so excited to see what this the swarm is!

I doubt they'd go with apocalypse as its the names of one iof Drayton Manor's signature rides and parks usually try to steer away from the same name.I hope it isn't war although it could have more meaning in the name than we see such as with air it could be something like, Wing Aerial Rider etc.

What about the quick questions topic which asked about the name for a new ride? asks to choose between Last Stand and Starmageddon and says the attraction will be based around aliens attacking the earth?Although some said that this competition was fake and a hoax there's a chance it could be related perhaps?If not perhaps it was a way of giving us a spoiler, or perhaps they will suprise us and add in a small ride to join the attraction?oooh, the possibilities, it is just a thought.

Thanks, I could try my old school's pool thats the only other pool near me I can really get to without forking out an arm and a leg, though I was put of there before after I handed in my CV to the manager who told me "I could hand it in but I wouldn't get anywhere", and I didn't.I even tried mcdonalds as my sisters works there but even they rejected me, how depressing is that!Thank you none the less for the advice

I'm sick and tired of everyone going on about all the youth of today being lazy scroungers who don't work and take all their money, I have worked hard for years to try and get a job with no success and I am thoroughly sick and tired of the proccess it is absolutely frustrating.I am now seventeen and since being fifteen I have applied at tons of shops giving in CV's and they never ever reply back which leaves who waiting patiently forever for the nothing.Then I apply at a local gym and I don't have the qualification I need yet.I undertake work experience at a local pool and enjoy it so I and my parents save up £200 for a pool lifegaurd qualification and then when I apply for a job and am told I have an interview I recieve not contact so I contact them and no one has a clue and passes me round from person to person untill I pop in and learn I and everyone else has no interview because they've given the job to a staff friend.I apply at another pool and I am slightly lacking in my first pool test and am given a second chance, I have my interview which goes well and then I am told I will recieve a call in a few days and then a week later I recieve a letter telling me I have been unsuccesful.Then everyone else is going on about working this job, that job and the other job and I sit there thinking how is this fair! >@(I'm just wondering what everyone elses experiences are and if they have any tips or advice that help make this depressing proccess succesful?

2011:Ranger county area is updated and the areas of the park are made much more apparent by updated and new signs and theming touches added along with signage of the SAW Plaza introduced and the areas being named on the map.Ranger county has been updated with theming of poaching, animals and rangers being placed around the area along with bamboo fencing and new signs and a scene introduced next to the game stalls at the entrance with poachers shooting at a hyena and the shot rebounding and the hyena laughing with audio.The new nightclub/disco inspired café opens which at front is a bee hive inspired café for families and out the back is a nightclub which is open in the evenings and in special events and thorough the year holds dance shows such as performances from dance troupes etc The club event would also be utilized by this.A children’s enclosed play area with slides, ball pit, punch bags, climbing frames is created above the restaurant with canopy trails which also stretch out above the water feature created below, a small lagoon with spray hippo and crocodile and waterfall.A Mack twist and splash also opens in the area named Miss Hippo’s Jungle Jet Spray.2012:Seirí̱na Isla:A promotional video is released in the 2011 build up a video of a dazed and scaled woman emerging from the water with red hair and eyes that attacks and devours the camera man with blood spurting on the camera and a heartbeat heard.Another video emerges with a woman’s voice warning man will fall heed the sirens with emphasis on man and sirens.The new island features theming pieces of a decaying Greek temple, skeletons on a large rock and a harbour with wrecked boats, a skeleton covered in peeled skin, skeletons dotted around, overgrown plants indigenous to Greece and Greek style statues fixed and broken.Miso Kardia:The station is the Greek temple which features blood splatters and stains with flickering torches and sirens shadows from projections along with a playlist of Judas Hurts remix, why don’t you love me, bring me to life, rolling in the deep, Helena, and a women’s sinister laughter, there are bodies and the statues are broken, later in the queue a video explains that the siren who dominates this island loved a sailor who choose the sea and another woman afterwards she vowed to hate both, taking refuge in the sea she soul searched only there was only hate and darkness and she was reborn as the siren after a deal with the devil, she has returned to the island and is seeking to extinct man kind to make way for a race of sirens to populate the earth praying upon girls who have been hurt or betrayed just as she was, however in a cruel twist of fate the devil kept her lover alive and he wanders the area in decaying state searching for his love to be reunited and pass on into the afterlife.The ride features inversions and head splitters etc with the temple and its pillars and also features inversions over water and the rock with water features across the whole island and the edge with the lake and it also features a cavern mist scene inside a rocky cavern which features a siren and sirens.The exit of the ride area features a siren figurine along with a video detailing how the sirens revenge began and ended at Thorpe park she met her lover and the two embraced in a battle until the siren realised she could not resist and they kissed however her lover killed her but they departed into the next life together, or so they thought she was taken into the depths of hell whilst he arrived in heaven.A music express (flying bobs/Matterhorn) opens over in the harbour area themed around the sailors and sirens named Delear.The harbour also houses retail outlets and toilets along with a picnic garden area and a new maze is introduced on the island for fright night themed around the sirens attack on the town.2013:Octopus Gardens closes this year.An orbiter is added in the place of Octopus Gardens as part of the Lost City area and is called Polarity being themed around its namesake and gravity and continuing the trend of Lost City.A long with this X No Way out receives updates in theming with theming being restored and new aspects being introduced such as a rotating solar system, with the air jets and sirens being re-introduced, rope lighting, strobe lights, fog machines and cybernetic arms and legs being displayed with the hand every so often gripping and releasing.2014:A booster is added on Seirí̱na Isla themed around the thunder of the Zeus fury named Vrontí̱ featuring theming of lightning strikes on the ground and Zeus statues some being broken.2015:The in filled island next to the bridge is home to a new roller coaster which features a loop over the bridge Fort Acheilos is the new ride and is part of the Neptune’s Beach area. The base is a concrete fort with coral growing from it and whit gaps in for the roller coaster to exit and enter the dark area inside, it also features a river and waterfall features, the ride features a loop over the bridge and features a launch.The new area features a Neptune’s beach shop along with a surf simulation in the surf shack and interactive water cannons in a shallow, small pool area Chariot Crusade.Detonator is removed this year to make way which banners identifying a new drop tower will be opening on Isla Seirí̱na.2016:Stagóna ouranó- A zamperla sky drop improved to the height of 37 metres themed around the Sirens facing the wrath of the gods.(Other notes about this period)• Thorpe Blast would return.• Disco/Club themed events would be a regular occurrence with popular DJ’s dance troupe performers.• The bridge would be widened.• The entrance would be updated to feature aspects of each ride in the queue and signs and plantations.• General theming updates, improvements and introductions around the park along with games stalls regularly changing.• New show in place of time voyagers to do with pirates keeping in theme with detonator.• Fast food chains are removed with own branded restaurants which use local produce.
