  1. Agree with all of the above. I don't always ride Detty, but when I do, I remember what a beast it is - and every time, I find that height intimidating, still.
  2. Saw seems to be having issues today, with engineers on the lift hill. Obvs very jealous of all the attention Hyperia is getting.
  3. Only one train at the moment 🫥
  4. I agree Marc, it a massive difference from previous down time and reopening day 2.0. I guess maybe they are trying to downplay it a bit to avoid more negative press, but I just think they probably should have pinned to the front page on the website that Hyperia was down on Wednesday and that they couldn't guarantee it would be open on Thursday but were trying their best to open (because I don't doubt that was the case for one second!) Let's be honest though, the moment this happened, even this most positive fan would have to admit Hyperia was going to almost certainly be down for at least a day, unless Thorpe were hiding a crane somewhere on site. Fingers crossed Hyperia is behaving herself come school holidays are in full swing. It's crazy that there's been only 8 days of public operation (one could argue it's more like 7 and a half with the downtime on the Saturday).
  5. I will say this again, I REALLY don't think Thorpe are making a big enough point about this. I get it, it sucks, and as much as the information is there - it's not exactly smacking you in the face unlike the previous downtime - and unfortunately, I really think it SHOULD be - forearmed is forewarned, and this is their signature attraction, that's on social media and adverts all over the place.
  6. Next Thorpe video with Alice on the thumbnail head in hands "This is the video we NEVER thought we'd have to make 😔" Jokes aside, the fact there's no pinned post or notice on their socials or website saying Hyperia is shut, is pretty poor and not at a par with their recent form...
  7. Photo stolen from the Twitters... Golden Day is getting closer....
  8. The joys of scheduled posts innit. That said, they could have just... unscheduled them? Good to see work happening so quickly - because it needs to! Thoughts and prayers for Hyperia to get to double digits of days of operation soon.
  9. Think Thorpe have dropped the ball a bit by not announcing last night that it wouldn't be open today. Appreciate that "if you know you know" and wouldn't travel down today under the circumstances, but not everyone is that savvy...
  10. I wouldn't expect so to be honest. Would love it to. They need to now, I would assume, get a mobile crane back on site to lift the train off the track. Once that's done, it then needs to get put back on the track, and I would imagine, some considerable testing again before it reopens as they won't want it happening again...
  11. From the MAP FB group - the train is indeed having a little rest next to Saw. More downtime for Saw incoming whilst they fix it's misbehaving new neighbour then...
  12. Just trying to work out where the train will have settled, in my head - I think it'll be on the section by SAW? Which is right next to the access road... luckily?
  13. Yikes. Was just discussing with Josh - we assume that's after the initial stall, so it's mid-valleying.... How long is that gonna take to sort out? Blimey. Do they even have a plan for this? There's a cherry picker next to SAW I think but... yeah... long amount of downtime incoming? Methinks they'll be doing the test runs with dummies from now on though, a la Smiler... 14. Got to experience the "new" land last week - it's alright innit? It works, is my review.
  15. Stealth has reopened this afternoon, racers.
  16. I personally think the next area earmarked is the X Pyramid... Once the Walking Dead IP goes, are they really going to rehash it again?
  17. I will say from our visit, is that the queue times were basically spot on - which is always good. If anything, they were slightly on the over cautious side.
  18. Trouble is, it's basically had 4 and a bit full days of operation with guests prior to today. I do think they overcommitted with that opening date just because it was their birthday... It ran flawlessly on Wednesday, it's so bizarre. Here's some unparalleled levels of joy prior to riding for the first time with my M8:
  19. It has been open earlier today but has been closed for the last few hours it seems. All trains were stopping at the top of the lift hill so maybe some sort of block clearance issue?
  20. UPDATE Stealthies - now 17th & 18th for planned closure.
  21. Would assume so, as this implies it's scheduled maintenance. Would be a little nervy if you were going on the 18th but I'm sure she'll be fine by 21st!
  22. Just a note to all Stealth fans (and especially @planenut) - Stealth is down for planned maintenance on Monday 17th June. I can't believe Stealth is 18 years old this year, bless 'er.
  23. Rode yesterday 3 times - rows 4, 6 and 7. Have to say - the operations were impeccable, both loading and getting the trains out, and the queueing system which worked faultlessly. Credit where credit is due there, brilliant stuff. Managed to get on when the queue hit it's lowest point of 60 minutes for our second ride as we just came off the - ever failing it seems - Colossus. FYI, we got to the park at 9am, got into the queue for Hyperia before the SAW photo area and we ended up riding at 10.30 so cannot complain one bit to be honest. First ride itself was pure euphoria, absolutely incredible. That hill just keeps going and going - especially when not at the front! Drop was great and punchy - loved the outer bank towards the motorway but the hangtime stall element is just bonkers. Loved it. 2nd ride of the day definitely seemed faster/more intense, as did the 3rd later on in the day. Such an awesome atmosphere in the area, everyone excited, whooping and clapping on the trains. The Hyperia shows were a nice touch too. Well done all round - I will say they might need to replace some of the plants though as they tend to need water, and some are very brown 😄 Mad that this ride is in the UK to be honest!
  24. I reckon you've hit the nail on the head here!
  25. It's the area next to Rush, saw it yesterday!
