Might be worth mentioning that in the "Worst Visitors At Thorpe Park" thread Just putting 2 + 2 together looking around on profiles

I wondered why a thread that was 2 years old had suddenly sparked into activity. Enjoyed that read over lunch, many thanks! I think the main bone of contention is other guests ruining people's days (whether those people are enthusiasts or not) - unfortunately, most people's experience of days being ruined appears to be by guests who some would term as "chavs" - but that's not to say everyone who wears a tracksuit to Thorpe Park/talks with a London/Staines accent is going to queue jump, is it? That would be like saying that all users of this forum are upper class teenagers - I'm 31 this year

Mine was already written off after the 2013 season!

Holy hell... the new Hotel could be the next Smiler!

Worst funfair ride you have been on
MattyMoo replied to GladiatorFanKyle's topic in General Discussion
Worst for all the wrong reasons - I went on a ride at a travelling fair at Frimley Lodge Park once called "The X Files Experience" - it was a ghost train of sorts. Absolutely awful and cheap, but I guess the fact the murals of Mulder & Scully on the outside with the names underneath the wrong way round should've been a good warning sign -
Yep, a real "pain in the ass" for George & Granville having to move to Chessie. I'll get me coat...

Don't worry folks, looking at those photos that were posted, there's definitely at least one more cactus to install. EDIT to say: The more I look at those photos of The Scorpion Express "progress" so far, the more I want to cry and cry.

Sorry it's not a rant - but so pleased you got things sorted Ellie. I was in complete and utter shock reading how things progressed, these people obviously have a combined IQ of 10 between all of them.

Becky and I are big Ke$ha fans - we went to her secret launch gig at a little back-street club in London a good few years back I had a stinking sore throat but still went along - mainly because there was a free bar for one thing "Timber" is catchy as hell, I am rather partial to it! I bought the new Sophie Ellis Bextor album last week, that's rather nice indeed - "Young Blood" is a gorgeous song and arrangement, love it.

Epic video. Is that Beyonce... Oh no it's Shakira... Oh no it's not... Is it Beyon... Aaaahhhhh too confusing

Sounds good to me! A beer or two helps with my bowling skillz too ...and I edit to say - of course my duties of bag holding will have to commence again. I was browsing through trip reports earlier that I hadn't read and saw I was namechecked (and missed) in the Alton Towers: Maniacs Head North one (hence my change of tagline under my username innit)

Haha I like your thinking Myk, but my tipple when I get there will probably be something from Costa at the station... I think my first pint will be after ice skating!
-
Haha nice one Myk, see you there My train gets into Guildford tomorrow at 11:15 so enough time to get to The Spectrum for 11:30-midday

No one wants Chessie to fail in what they are doing - I think the main bugbear is, many of us have memories of how brilliant Chessington was in our younger years (the mid 90s were epic at Chessie for me), and it's slowly been ripped apart and is a shadow of it's former self.

I figure this is the best thread for this Does anyone have an unwanted Smiler sticker? I want one for my car and keep missing them on eBay! Will of course pay postage or whatever!

Note to anyone thinking of coming by train - just found out that South West Trains are running their Winter Sale promotion which means that if you are travelling from a SWT station to Guildford, the ticket will be £10 return, bargain! http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/wintersmiles.aspx Normally my ticket from Portsmouth - Guildford return would be £22.50

I'd be surprised if queueing inside the cave is deemed safe any more thanks to H&S!
