This will be the other reason that the "influencers" are barely mentioning Thorpe. Everything is ticking along relatively, whereas Towers you can bang out a quick video on park showing some closed rides (think about 3/4 long term break downs yesterday), or whine about the RAP situation and you got yourself a video.

Let's be honest, if the park binned NWO, Ghost Train and Storm Surge that's a HUGE piece of area to work with (plus Slammer memorial). But something to visit after whatever replaces Rumba. Or finally build on the island behind Swarm.

Kondaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa enters my top 10 at number 7. Great ride, extremely fun and forceful, but there's just stuff I like more out there. In fairness trying to pick 10 out of 600 is bloody difficult at times. Shambhala drops out which is probably fair but the next one to break in is going to have to blow my head off. 1 - Voltron 2 - Untamed 3 - Nemesis 4 - Helix 5 - Oz'Iris 6 - Katun 7 - Kondaa 8 - Blue Fire 9 - Revenge of the Mummy (Orlando) 10 - The Beast
  4. Pulsar 😍

The issue of nothing on the horizon hasn't helped. You'd presume SOMETHING will happen on Rumba site but then Slammer's old spot is still decaying. The "rest area" is just so badly executed. Was always a hard sell for it to be the exciting new addition, especially when there's no events happening to utilise the space. Hyperia could've done with a couple support rides to keep the interest going. Surprised they didn't go for the spinning or backwards car on it (though given the ride experience probably for the best that they didn't). Even the influencers barely seem to visit Thorpe. Guess it doesn't get the hits that Towers does or has something new to regularly update like Chessie or Lego.

Typical lull after big investment really. Not helped by general world malaise and not much activity going on at the parks.

Stealth is part of an outdated and high maintenance ride type. History doesn't bode well for Hydraulic Accelerators. It'll be the first to go because it's most likely to be deemed unaffordable to maintain. The last brand new one was built 16 years ago after all.
  8. From sounds of it will likely be better for the guest experience if it does close without a replacement. It's in an awkward location which doesn't help either.
  9. Visited the park for first time in over a decade. Would you believe things are very different? The ride lineup has markedly improved. Mediocrity was king, and now Kondaa, Mecaladon and Tiki-Waka help to have rideable coasters (ok Turbine was and still is fab). Mecaladon in particular is a great family coaster. That the kid can ride that and Calamity Mine (just!) but Runaway Mine Train at Towers is too much is hilarious to me. Kondaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is a great coaster too. #600 for me after some recent hectic visits to Gullivers parks to boost that cred count. Certainly preferred it to Hyperia, helped by it having a decent layout and using the height (though smaller than I realised) well. The bunny hops at the end in back row are also nonsense. Low end of the top 10 for me. Pulsar is fab. Need more of these in existence. That boat should lumber along but instead it zooms along. Unfortunately only got to do it once as it died a death later on and needed to get the train home. Apparently Vampire and Loup-Garou were running terribly. Fortunately I didn't have to ride them. The park itself looks nice with the recent area spruce ups, though a few rides are in conflicting areas (Silverton the worst offender) which might get fixed soon maybe. Yeah, good day and a solid cred count boost. Helped by the park being utterly dead even with a few school groups about so still 5-10 minute queues for everything.

Park has put in an application for a clone of the Ninjago Spinner at the Korean park to plop on some of the Rapids land. Solid if unspectactular choice.

That or their standards for retention are extremely low 😉
  12. Lol at calling Walking Dead and Hyperia part of Thorpe's "Golden Era". Probably is just one last "DO YOU GET THE REFERENCE?" installation before he left. Maybe now rides will be focused on actual themeing elements rather than references and Easter eggs.
  13. Mean I don't know anyone staff wise but been told someone called Josh Reynolds has moved over.
  14. I've just realised something. So Towers is run by former Thorpe employees now. And suddenly the 4 wheelchair lifts all suddenly appear to be out of order (well Wickerman's had a sign but was working, think was more down to someone having crashed into it). Thorpe notoriously had wheelchair lifts for Saw and Inferno closed for years. Plus Fastrack sales are going through the roof. We're through the looking glass here people.
  15. Went over the weekend. It is... problematic at the moment it feels. Yesterday the only thrill rides open were Toxicator, Nemesis, Rita and Wickerman. Even CBeebies Land had rides late opening so the families didn't feel left out either. The lack of supporting ride line up is telling. Heave Ho had a 20 minute queue at one point! Having things like Oblivion and RMT closed puts such a strain on the rest of the park, where the 11am openings drag things down even further. Families I think are at a loss for those not quite at 1.2m even more so currently. Something easily solved by filling in the currently abandoned spots that once homed flat rides. Yet there's no appetite. Wickerman's batching is still terrible. The pre-pre-show is asking for trouble the way they just let all the queues at merge enter. Smiler yesterday was quoting a 2.5 hour queue when it eventually opened. 90 minutes SRQ and "extended waits" for Fastrack and RAP. Fastrack was the prioritised queueline and the wheelchair lift for Smiler is currently broken. So yay for RAP users. Genuinely believe that if we didn't have RAP we wouldn't bother visiting.

Another square for Thorpe Bingo everyone!

Had some iconic rides on it over those early enthusiast years. Particularly over Fright Nights. How long will this grave be left before actual development happens I wonder?

Did they ever finish the Colossus repaint?

Some of the areas need refurbishment. Though Miniland has looked tired for over a decade. There was also mention of a second major attraction added round back of Minifigure Speedway to replace Skyrider. Though whilst Temu Cosmic Spin looks fun coaster wise the interactive element looks really poor. Hope they don't waste money on a B&M junior invert when they might as well get a Vekoma STC/SFC instead.

  22. Lol. Towers has had 60+ min queues on stuff in CBeebies Land. Even bloody Sea-Life and Teacups have had queues. Don't think Lego has been much better. And that has the added plus point of RAP using the Fastrack queueline for 90% of stuff.
  23. I remember backlash when Lego first went to digital RAP. I think the main problem with this was the lack of communication on top of not allowing the new all digital system to bed in a bit. Especially when adding in defined dates for when the RAP bookings open up this year. Still, people got what they wanted.
  24. Free if you stay on site within a certain period. So you have to spend the ridiculous hotel rates to get one. "Free" by proxy.
  25. I mean who could've forseen backlash when it was slyly (read not) announced on the same day the first batch of RAP bookings were made available? Surprised they've u-turned this quickly. But I'm sure RAP users won't complain when the situation hasn't changed this season.
