Chessie's ground isn't the most stable, look at the state of some of the pathways and you can see it... Slip sliding away, so digging is pretty much out of the question... Can only imagine what might have been if Tussauds hadn't hit the brick wall of the council prior to purchasing Towers... Thing is as well, much like Lego's issues, there's the traffic issue to consider, which is bloody awful at the best of times... It's not simply down to height and noise, and probably not helped with the relationships our parks seem to have with councils (as in, everyone hates each other)... But Chessie simply doesn't have the sufficient infrastructure available to it to support a major modern park at the current time, which is evidence of it's bad treatment under DIC... Merlin's stuff is short term at more than just Chessie... That much is clear...

On the subject of a new entrance, I would HATE for the main entrance to be over in FV... Towers has one of the best entrance designs (bar Spinball ruining the view), and it would be a real shame to lose it... A hotel entrance sure, but not a main entrance... I've taken too many newbies on that Monorail trip with it's teasing views of the park and seen the positivity that comes with it...

New for 2016 - Park-Wide Improvements
Benin replied to MarkC's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
The back wall is a bit, lacklustre... But then again, no-one will be looking at it because Tigers... Let's be honest, none of the theming in that place was ever coherent... Animal Kingdom it never was... -
Depends how they're accessing it, they could easily just use a cherrypicker (and that is probably the best way) to do it... Least the station is getting something, that's the more important thing here... I do hope that it does get another coat of something to darken it slightly, pure white does not suit Nemmie...
-
An awful addition, it's no wonder noone cares about it... Probably all they could afford since no idiot would buy the Screaming Squirrel off them... It's a shame since the last few additions have notably improved on offerings, this does not...

Dunno, Victoria looks pretty similar right now...

You do realise what a studio flat is right? Could never live in one personally, and that it's costing over £800 a month shows how awful the pricing is in London...
-
Areas always look barren when they first open unless you plant loads of adult trees though... It'll look better in a year when you compare it to the foliageless stuff seen at Merlin parks in recent years, which is perhaps why they all look so tatty and dull... No trees to break up the grey monotony...

Walibi have a LOT to do to even get anywhere near Efteling... Lost Gravity, a dark ride and another random coaster 3 years away isn't enough whatsoever...
-
It can and does run two trains if required... I don't think that demand is on a regular basis though... Seeing the second train rise from the station floor is amazing...

NOTHING runs on one train at Europa...

Why visit 2 theme parks instead of the same theme park twice?
Benin replied to LP57's topic in General Discussion
It depends on the park doesn't it? Some parks, deserve visiting several times, others deserve a singular visit (usually to get the cred) and very little else... Although sometimes you discover the odd gem of somewhere along the way on those 1/2 cred parks, so it's often a case of just visit everywhere you can... At least that's what I do... New rides always tend to drag me back, often sooner than anticipated (Efteling), though it does depend on the park and ride in question, as I don't really have an interest in returning to Walibi Holland anytime soon, yet I'll defo visit Plopsaland next year primarily because of Heidi, but also the park is fantastic... It's very unlikely that a new show would get me to return though, as they are always the side attraction bonus instead... Parks that have queue times available via phones (app or webpage) need to happen more, as they are very, VERY useful things to have... Helps plan the day a little bit better whilst still feeling like you're exploring the park at your own pace... Whilst I've not experienced Disney's Fastpass+ thing in Florida, I don't like the idea of having to plan your entire trip weeks before you visit, it just lacks fluidity to me, a regimented march around the park so you can get the 13:10 slot for Space Mountain does not sound fun to me... -
Walken's King Louie is hysterically awful... Something off about Idris Elba as Shere Khan, cannot place what's wrong with it exactly though... But two of the major cast member voice choices seem quite poor, which isn't a good sign... Bill Murray and Ben Kingsley seem suited at least...

Huge now means 4 rides? One of which was beyond the park's control, and I wouldn't be surprised if the wind was also affecting Revolution (I DREAD to think how much that would wobble in the winds we've been getting recently) and Ice Blast... Dunno about Steeplechase but who knows, when things close halfway through the day you can probably guess it's something unexpected... Sounds like nothing compared to that great Thorpe Feb Half Term disaster...
-
If this had been the first place I'd seen such a rumour, I wouldn't have bothered... But since it wasn't, and the sites I visit tend to have a clue, I'm worried...
-
But will it be better than the original Air soundtrack? One of the last best Tussauds tracks...
-
Yay let's mess up the best dark ride in the UK with the latest technology fad and probably make a meal of it... Sigh, so done with Merlin atm...
-
You'll still visit 500 more times this year so does it matter? One day does not a park's season make...
-
Is the made up enthusiast gibberish or actually what has been stated by the park as the 'story' behind the hotel? Not that is gives a reason for shipping containers...
-
You mean the cattlepen that was on the plans so shouldn't be a surprise how big it is?
-
I'd always think that goons are the absolute WORST people parks should use as 'first riders'... Look at Thirteen as a good example, the ECC guys on it were so dull, and the enthusiast response was ridiculously negative... Imagine if this is a disappointment, or the person has ridden things like Mystic Manor? The response won't fit the "OMG SO AMAZING!" response all parks want... Also some enthusiasts are just awful human beings... I remember someone kicking off at Thorpe because they didn't get to ride the first train of the season on MRAWS... I doubt that's a completely unique incident either, as proven by people moaning about this competition... Let's be honest, no one wants me riding this first and calling it mediocre or a waste of money now do we?
-
It's that argument between secretive marketing versus showy marketing, and I'm not sure being secretive is the best idea for a dark ride, which are already difficult to market to the UK market... Mean look at Universal, they shout what their new rides are before they've even started building them sometimes... We already know more about Symbolica than this as another example... The secrecy is a bit over the top from Merlin sometimes, but at least if it's a coaster you have something to watch get built... Dark rides are dull construction topics unless you get to see the insides, we haven't here... The doll video might have got people talking, but what about? There was no real link to the ride because we knew nothing about it at the time... It was Merlin trying to do a viral video style but to me, missing that clear link to both the park and the ride itself... As for the clues, let's be honest, it's only goons who are involved in finding them...

Everything gets long queues because of their crap operations... I'll assume Hero gets them, as does Mumbo Jumbo and Kumali... Its doubtful you'll enjoy it...
-
There are some daft ideas on here, but that is just the worst thing ever suggested... Go to the corner and think about what you've said...

Hex is literally buggered though, as are seemingly most of the other Madhouses (Villa Volta and Defi d'Cesar)... Think Vekoma have no idea how to fix it, which of course doesn't help matters...
