Now, Shrek 4-D is actually amazing...But, assuming they just re-use the same footage, it's a 7 year old attraction... And the film's are worse (and possible/hopefully finished) then it was all those years ago...I have... Minimal hope that this happens... Especially considering that image of why it's reckoned to be Shrek... Dear oh dear...Does Storybookland need something done to it? Yes, preferably by getting rid of that red and blue turd next door and theming all in one piece... A decent sized new attraction that can promote itself to families based on it's substance rather than "OHHHHH LOOK AT THE BIG SHINY CHARACTER!" would always be my choice, this is why I'd never do well being in charge of a themepark...So much for Merlin's in-house stuff eh?

But Shinny was asking more generally, and I already pointed out that River Quest does it...
-
Thought they'd finished those roadworks... Oh well...
-
Look up River Quest at Phantasialand... It's definitely possible...God I love that ride...
-
All those plans were (and still are) TERRIBLE...And this was NOT the year before Merlin brought them, since that happened in 2007...Chessie needed (and still needs) RIDES... I'm glad they didn't build an arena then and when plans popped back up a few years back...
-
Haha, seeing that has reminded me of the time I walked back to the station in 2007 on Halloween and there was a car on the bridge that was on fire... Yes there is a bus... The 71... But there's really no need to get it... The only people around will be park guests and staff at that time of night...I can do the walk in about 10 minutes give or take... Depends on how long I have till the next train... I'd say 15 minutes tops...
-
Only the ticket queue... Unless you buy Fast-track, you queue in the regular queue...But don't rush and get that yet, since the normal queue is max 20 minutes, and when the extension is open it only goes up to 30...So when you pick up (or have your printed at home) ticket, you head straight to the regular queue where there'll be two very cold looking people no doubt...
-
Have you seen the trailer for the new one?It literally is gonna be a corny 3-D film... Especially judging by one of the scenes... Even in 2-D I could tell what was meant to be jumping out of the screen...Oh I dislike 3-D films...And I doubt Saw could EVER hope to reach the same popularity as Potter... There's such a little comparison especially due to the massive difference in target audiences (let alone that Potter basically encompasses EVERYONE!)...
-
Now this is certainly a topic I can go on about for a while Although this could be placed elsewhere in the forum (Other Attractions?) I'm sure if wanted someone will...Regardless, you can indeed buy a ticket on the day (for £17.95), and depending on what time/day/etc you go the busyness will indeed vary...I don't think the queues will be exceptionally long at this time of year, although ticket queuing is the main issue (especially with it being half term next week, so could be very busy indeed), so if you want to avoid that (and say money) buy online, just remember if you do not print the ticket off at home you WILL have to collect your pre-booked tickets indoors before heading into the actual queue... A VERY important thing I cannot stress enough to you... The ticket collection is next door to the main ticket sales where the shiny bridge is...Don't forget to see the 4-D show... Gives the staff something to do...EDIT - Just looking on the MAP site, be aware you cannot use it on the 30th/31st... Which is... Annoying as I was planning on going Saturday

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/9101905.stmThen why does this article taken off the BBC state the 18th October? This would've been big news THROUGHOUT the end of the transfer window if he had been, since links would've been jumping around EVERYDAY... And you call ME un-educated...And also, if Man U DON'T take other youngsters off teams, why does FM11's demo have at least 13 players from their youth team that did not start their career at the club?I do realise that those 4 have been at the top, doesn't make them particularly nice teams though does it? And you're being the reason why right now, because you're a 'supporter' who lives in SURREY... I hazard a guess that I've actually seen Man U live more times than you... Which is amusing when I don't support a team that's in the Premiership itself... Evidently you've had an 'education' from Sky Sports... Definitely not from going to Old Trafford every home game...Did you also know that name-calling makes someone's arguement less valid? So all this use of 'un-educated' from someone who is 4 years my younger makes me laugh...
-
What the hell has this got to do with Portsmouth?Just... Argh... Couldn't give a crap about how good Man U's reserve team is, I wonder how many actually weren't stolen from another lower league club like so many others are...And that quote makes me angry... Hate Sky Sports, hate the arse-licking of the 'top 4', hate that league so much... UN-EDUCATED? How actually dare you... I haven't supported my local team for 20 years, survived two administrations not to realise what the hell is going on with football these days...Seriously, sod off...
-
That is complete and utter petulance...If at a normal workplace someone wanted more money after performing less than expected and starting saying I don't wanna work here they'd get fired...Stop talking crap... I'm suprised people know other leagues exist...
-
FOOTBALL RANT AHEAD!On the same day Wayne Rooney signed his new contract after throwing his toys out of the pram and wanting more money, an ENTIRE club could be dead...An absolute disgrace this is... Ridiculous... It's bad enough with the non-league clubs rising and dying here and there, but the entire game is buggered up due to the money and it's getting really sickening...Hate the Premiership...
-
Obviously... But it's still a case of going strong with the friends you have... It's a case of knowing who's good and who's bad for you, if people act like that around you or try and get you to side with them in a fight which has nothing to do with you, and you get a message of them trying to do so, then it's best to tell the person involved so they know what's going on... Evidently if people you considered friends are turning on you, then it's time to jump ship from them and find new friends... Indeed that's why I have many different social circles, each with their own wit and charm to them, and it enables me to talk to many people about different things dependant on my mood...Something you just have to live with no matter what... People who truly care about you will always be there for you... Back-stabbing is rife throughout life, and losing friends happens... Life is crap... But we gotta get through somehow no?
-
If someone 'defriends' you are they really worth bothering about?Seriously... People make friends at different rates yes, but social networks shouldn't be so focused upon by people...I've had people delete me off Facebook, did I see it as bullying? Hell no, mainly because they people who deleted me were idiots anyways...I think there's too much reliance on the likes of Facebook and MySpace nowadays... Way, way too much...

I was also there yesterday...After arriving at 10:30 due to my friend Will's train being delayed due to cows on the line (the North eh?), we hit up Oblivion as per the norm...Then for the next several hours we dotted around the park doing all the major rides (as well as Sea-Life, Maurauders Mayhem, Charlie and the Farm)... I have a full trip report on Coasterforce which I was gonna put on here but it didn't like the multitude of photos I had in it... Shame really...There were lots of schoolkids once again... Do schools actually exist in the North? Many from Manc and above it seemed... And they were ALLLL annoying... Especially a small group of whom we had the displeasure of sharing Hex with... Much RAGE was had...Skelvin's Haunted Adventure as I've said wasn't as good as Duel Live last year due to the lack of butler/queue people... That really did add something to the ride, and also didn't involve LOUDNESS... Anyways... When it EVENTUALLY got dark (which took ages due to the clear day), we hit up Nemesis twice front and back, which was running as perfect as can be really... I thought the lights were very good and more turned on as it got darker... In fact the lights around the park were amazing... Katanga hasn't been mentioned enough I don't think and it does look very very good at night... Towers looked bloody brilliant though...We went to do Thirteen at night (which was the main point of the day really), and indeed, were both blown away by how much the dark improves this ride... It's amazing how sometimes night-time riding can so quickly improve a rather average ride into something above average... It was just really weird...Since it had only re-opened due to a breakdown we had no actors first time... So as we got off, we did it again as the actors were now present... 5 in total including 1 wraith (personally wanted more in the area itself) and of course, Thirteen Girl herself, who was and extremely good actor and had everyone in the queue watching her mesmerized... The actors certainly helped improve the already improved dark atmosphere in the queue...Certainly a good, if long, cold and tiring day...Ride CountOblivion - 2Thirteen - 3Rita - 1Nemesis - 3Skelvin - 2Runaway Mine Train - 1Sea-Life - 1Maurauder's Mayhem - 1Charlie - 1Hex - 1Air - 1

Ok, having done this tonight twice at night (front and back), I've now decided that it is so made to be ridden at night in the pitch black... It makes the outdoor section a lot better and improves the atmosphere in the queue ten-fold...I was very suprised by it at night, completely different to normal daytime...The addition of actors amused, and will be covered elsewhere...

Letting the team down there Keith... For shame on you, least I have a valid excuse for not being able to do over the last month
-
And today it made me learn John Wardley had a hand in Megafobia...Another plus mark for it

Vampire was my first ever coaster so holds a very soft spot in my heart...It is certainly one of the best family rides I have been on, and currently is the best Suspended Swinging coaster in the world (due to the sad demise of Big Bad Wolf and Eagle's Fortress)...The theming within the station obviously diminished (as with many things) during the refurb, but it certainly still has a great piece of atmosphere, what with the epic music (one of the best pieces Tussauds ever did) and the ramp leading down towards the organist...Whilst the ride isn't one of the best layouts or to many doesn't seem to do much at any speed, it does take you around the area and after the second lift hill has three great pieces of action, diving into the main area of Translyvania, the tunnel, and the s-bends into the brakes... It certainly encompasses everything Tussauds put into their coasters at the time, loads of places to view it from, interaction with everything, great theming... Unfortunately, the lack of theming compared to the bat car years does indeed sap something out of it, what with the purple fences and the old entrance standing there un-used, maybe one day they'll find a way of using it again and improving the look of it all...20 years old and is the more famous coaster at Chessie, and certainly has several people smiling afterwards... Simply put, a classic that I hope has a place in the park for many years to come...
