  1. With topscans the faster and crazier the better!
  2. I've been looking forward to going on Speed Wave at Brean later this month as I expected it to be faster and more intense than Samurai, but I've just seen this video and it looks even slower than Samurai on it's worst setting!
  3. It's worth the admission price for Megafobia alone.
  4. Not exactly sure about that one, but I'd imagine that it's due to air resistance - people put their arms up which causes resistance with the wind. But also, a full train of people might be too heavy to make it, whereas not having sandbags would be too light. Still, it's good that they've got it on two trains though. If the wind dies down at all then they'll take the sandbags off. How busy is the park?

I was talking about having X No Way Out with the emergency evacuation lights on back in 2010, which had nothing to do with the development of X.

Yeah! When something's good, I'll praise it and say it's good!

I won't judge it until it's finished, but at the moment it looks horrible. Why can't we just have a nice entrance? That section has the potential to look really nice, but it's just been neglected.

I assumed that it would be being filmed by presenters for the beginning of it, as I can't see how it could be used as an act? Don't get me wrong, I like Britain's Got Talent but I don't think it should get priority over paying guests. Imagine paying £48 to get in, then being told you can't ride it whilst watching people being sent round it multiple times being filmed? I know I would be annoyed! (Almost as bad as letting celebs jump a 3 hour queue!) Why should they have to though? Personally, I'd be miffed if I visited and they closed a ride early for a reason like that, especially if I had paid £48 to get in!

Why should famous people be treated any different to us? It's unacceptable and they only released it on the day via social media. People who booked online or didn't follow the pages would be stuffed, then at £48pp that's very poor!
  10. Doesn't look very sturdy, but I'm sure they know what they are doing...

I'm not sure what a photo of Experiment 10 is doing on the main page. I'd like to see the lighting improved in My Bloody Valentine for definite, as it was often just pitch black in there last year (which removes the point of any theming, as you can't see it!) Cabin in the Woods was also good, but there was room for improvement - such as a better use of the well themed ending. Also, anamatronics would be great! I'm probably one of the only ones on this site to say this, but I want Asylum to stay! (As do a lot of people I know).

Filming should be done when the park isn't open!
  13. I don't like it. It reminds me more of a school or university website than a theme park website. I really like the modern look they are going for, but I find it quite difficult to navigate whereas the old one was more traditional, and the opening times need to be under Key Information!

Yeah that was the reason, it was stupid though!

The one at Funland was in it's last few years - barely moved!

I saw it in the light back in 2010 when they operated it with the lights on for some weird reason, it was surprising to see just how compact it really is (although you can sort of see that now with the light show if you look for it).
  18. I agree to an extent, but there could be a lot of people expecting a new coaster, to find out that they've destroyed re-themed the Runaway Mine Train.
  19. ^ That's really good to see, but I can't help thinking that maybe a lot of the GP think they have a new coaster? (Based from the way they are marketing Scorpion Express)
  20. It's probably more to do with the opening times - would you want to spend £40+ on a day out and then be chucked out at 5/5:30?
  21. Why? Are people going to climb out through the roof? H&S logic...
  22. I remember seeing My Bloody Valentine with an 140 minute queue, and they were doing two groups of fastrack then one normal, possibly even worse than that (can't remember completely). I suppose from their point of view, the longer and slower the queue the better as more people will buy fastrack... Fastrack on Dodgems is just wrong though. You could ride better ones at a fair for less!
  23. It's actually nothing to do with that. The ride has three trains - two are medium speed trains, and one is a fast train. (Wheel compounds and technical stuff etc...) On a really windy day they can only run the fast train as the other ones wouldn't make it round the circuit.
  24. Technically the maximum it can run in is 50mph but it all depends on direction etc - I was on it in 40mph winds a few weeks back and it nearly rolled back over the hills! Also, it's worth noting that if the wind is high then it'll probably only be on one train.
