The new style Colossus layout looks brilliant!

I don't know what people find scary about Detonator! I'm not disputing the fact that lots of people do because most of my friends are terrified of it, but personally I think that it's fun but that's as far as it goes. If they held you at the top for prolonged periods of time more often and didn't have a countdown then it would be scarier in my opinion.

^ THAT is the one ride I will not go anywhere near! (I rode it when I was younger but will not go on it now!)

Just watched the Speed video, I'd forgotten just how annoying that announcement is! Great ride though, as are most of the rides there.

^ Fair enough, but there should be a better system than just two tables causing congested crowds with people who don't have bags pushing through.

^ They search your bags while you walk through the airport scanners, so it's a similar system but just more thought out.

They should have airport style scanners like Blackpool Pleasure Beach do - it works really well as crowds filter through them without being able to bypass them or causing congestion like the tables to (although I'm sure this is only a temporary move until they install something such as airport scanners).

How come Saw at Thorpe cost over £15 million then? It's the same manufacturer and to be honest I think that Speed is the better ride.

^ They very much should do, new ride for next year anyone? Bit strange that they have it and aren't putting it up though. If this is true then Spinball is unlikely to go to Oakwood. If it does leave Towers then I hope it goes somewhere, I would hate to see it scrapped.

^ It would be great if it went to Oakwood, they are in need of another coaster in my opinion. However I wouldn't mind seeing it at Thorpe.

Maybe not, but that doesn't make it awful just because there are better rides that could replace it.

^I agree with this, it would be great if there was more attention to detail and little things that might often be missed unless looked at closely (the other exception to this being the bathroom scene which is quite extensively themed).

Are you actually complaining about noise at a theme park? It's not supposed to be a quiet day out! You can hear Nemesis across the park too! What's your name, Mr Roper?

I never said presentation didn't matter - as it stands I think Spinball looks quite good as it is. Anyway back on topic, I think that it is a strange decision to move it to Thorpe (if it is happening) but I can sort of see why they are doing so. Personally I would like it to happen - Thorpe is in much closer proximity to me than Towers so I would get to ride it more often! Not sure where it would fit in though.

No. Considering that Towers is a theme park, rides come before views. Try asking the multitude of park visitors (which after all, is what matters) whether they would rather have Spinball or a nice view and they would say Spinball. It's not a distraction, it's a ride which is what theme parks are all about. The only way Towers could use the beautiful setting for the theme park to their advantage would be to provide discounted tickets to go in without going on rides (which they should do anyway - they would make quite a lot of money from people wanting to go to see the gardens) but nobody is going to pay the entrance fee to look at views - they want to go on rides!

You don't have to be so sarcastic with everything! Let's not forget that Alton Towers is a THEME park, not a quiet place that you go to for nice views. If you want nice views go to Yorkshire. (But not LWV because they block the view with rides as they are a theme park. Funny that).

Spinball fits in really well at Alton Towers though, why would they want it removed?
