  1. BOO Well hi! So as some may know, I've lost RCT3 on my laptop, BUT I fear I've lost everything! My park I've been working on since May 2012! But is there any chance of getting my park back, if any, like if install it onto another computer or is it gone for good?

Last night just before my internet came back, my laptop froze up and crashed, now every time I turn it on, it just comes up with a black screen, an possible hard drive problem, so I've lost everything on my last hard drive! TYPICAL! (FYI any IT nerds on here want to help me, feel free to PM! I wanna see any free options before coughing up for an hard drive! )

(Off topic rant that has nothing to do with The Swarm jokes) This week has been plain awful, currently have cotton buds in my ears as my sister has High School Musical on, and my laptop is currently wrapped in a sheet on my desk, may take up too a week till I get an hard drive, sigh sigh sigh

Your wish is my command Sidders! It actually was created by Rollercoasters4Life on TowersStreetTalk so all credits to him/her: This clearly shows how Alton could direct guest around Oblivions hole while still leaving a massive space for The Smiler construction, of course if all goes to plan, we could see the construction walls down by April so everything will be back to normal!

They're doing previews pretty much like Rita's as posted by TowersStreet: Full article here: http://www.towersstreet.com/news/2013/the-smiler-confirmed-to-be-opening-in-may/ I expect these to be random days through-out the month, not many if any effects on and possible break downs and e-stops and not run all day, so I wouldn't really plan a trip around these previews and turn up to find out The Smiler won't be previewing that day and wait till May 2013 for the full experience! As Ricky said, just before May I'm sure Merlin will get some Z listed wannabe celebrities and do a "premiere launch" like all the Merlin attractions have had.

Well isn't this just a day for UK parks! I knew from day one Swarm backwards would look stupid, feel stupid and possibly be a stupid mistake, I still do but I wouldn't mind having a go! Shame I didn't get to ride the backwards row forwards, I heard that was the most intense! (Also new Swarm theming for the win!)

The mini-site is amazing, seriously worth all that teasing and build it! And a THE SMILER GAME? I WANT NOW!! Alton Towers, Merlin, you've out-done yourself with this and got the marketing spot on, I await the silly PR but for now, I'm speechless with it, well done!

Wow! So much news! Though over night (thanks to a theme park related dream ) The Smiler name grew on me, funny enough I find out this morning, it is the actual name, still abit mixed about it, lets hope Merlin don't follow this trend of ride naming's beginning with The and second word beginning with S! The marketing image is fantastic, everything coming together! But MAY?! Better late than never I guess... It should be opening around about the same time as Gatekeeper! Lets get ready for #TheSmiler

'The Smiler' sounds like a child's toy or something, if its called that it will laughable. I can just hear it now "Hey guys, you want to ride that big scary rollercoaster.. Smiler" No, just no. I'm not convinced.
  10. Updated list! Month Order! February - I would like to go Half Term if anyone is going! March - Towers opening! April - Towers & the big south, Thorpe & Chessington (maybe Legoland!) May - I might actually be going aboard for the first time! With college to Estonia for work experience! Exciting June - Towers again (SW7 most likely open by then ) July - Usual Towers summer visit, odd days out August - *unknown* September - Blackpool is the pipeline around about this time, I would love to go! October - Scarefest! Fright nights! November - (Park closes boo ) Fireworks is possible but we'll see what happens December - Another year over! Depending on others I shall hope to get to parks I haven't been too yet, top of the list is Chessington. Blackpool is another I would love to go too, maybe more than just going for the amusement park, as I haven't seen in beach in forever! Of course I'll be back at Alton this year, trying to beat last years times I went & finally getting to Scarefest as well as experiencing Fright Nights & another trip to Thorpe.
  11. I voted for the April dates as I'm all booked up in March! (Mostly because I would of spent all my money on Towers opening weekend and will be skint to make it down Thorpe ) But if SW7 open's on the first weekend of April (Seems likely) then I won't be going at all! I could possibly go 16th March but it is my birthday weekend so (HINT HINT)
  12. Fantastic trip report Peaj! I'm utter more jealous I missed out on this meet! And I cannot wait till I get to a meet of my own! Carry on doing these reports after each meet! Its a lovely way for the people who have been to reflect and others to see what a TPM meet is all about! And yes! Onto Guildford, though I shall not be attending (yes, you can all cry now ) I cannot wait to see what you TPMer's get up too!

I'm honestly not bothered if SW7 doesn't have a world first element in it, to be fair I will be glad if it doesn't! It means less downtime! Alton don't need to build worlds first to make there rollercoasters great (Nemesis) I think SW7 can be like Thirteen in reverse, now as much as I love Thirteen its only logic to believe that the drop (worlds first) is the key element in the ride, with SW7 the ride is/should be the key element, because thats all they need, no gimmicks or worlds first, just a good thrilling rollercoaster
  21. Air (7) Duel - The Haunted House Strikes Back (6) Hex: The Legend Of The Towers (6) Nemesis (5) Nemesis: Sub-Terra (5) Oblivion (5) Runaway Mine Train (5) The Gardens (1) Th13teen (5) The Gardens - Duel +

  23. Air (5) Congo River Rapids (4) Duel - The Haunted House Strikes Back (5) Hex: The Legend Of The Towers (5) Nemesis (5) Nemesis: Sub-Terra (6) Oblivion (5) Runaway Mine Train (5) The Flume (5) The Gardens (5) Th13teen (6) CRR - 1 Thirteen + 1
  24. Yep the new meet countdown on the side is ALOT better, thank you! I love the feature of being able to click the name to view the meet page & being able to click the X to hide the countdown if you want, hats off to you.

Just looking over Rita's construction and they seemed to be no problem with that opening late, and I believe X-Sector will be open come the new season as they won't need re-pave the whole land unlike UG Land! They can easily divert guest into X-Sector without touching SW7, they was giving out "previews" of the ride to annual pass holders or people who book tickets with Rita, wouldn't this be much better? It give Alton & the public an idea of the ride so they can change things and iron out problems before the main opening. It happens all the time in the American parks, why do the UK parks have to be different? Yes its annoying because March is when everything normally opens but Merlin try and do big things in a small space of time, they're/was planning to build the 3rd longest rollercoaster in 2 months and a bit with huge theming and effects? Madness! I do think the planning was poor & they didn't really think about how much work was be needed, as I believe this was quickly drawn up (Correct me if I'm wrong) and put in because the original SW7 wasn't ready. Alton cannot afford to make a Sub-Terra mistake again, I just wish they did this for Sub-Terra, would of saved them alot of embarrassment. I'd rather have a fully working rollercoaster in the later half of the season than a half shoddy job at the start.
