  1. After saying I'd never go again after my last day of horrificness there... I might be going again next week if I find myself driving passed in the way to Europa. Or I might be flying to a beach somewhere instead. The rides are so damn good, I'd love to experience it on a day when they do cope with guest numbers so I can try to enjoy it.
  2. Just to reiterate. No. Nothing like this.
  3. Centre Parcs rapids are awesome, especially the Elveden ones. I imagine Merlin would be a little too risk averse for anything similar, but if they were to install some it'd pretty much double my interest in the place.

    Fastrack

I don't want to get over dramatic about it, but my view is that is actually criminal fraud. A false representation is made exposing another to the risk of loss. I've said it before and I'm still waiting, but I fully expect this to be the next brand damaging watchdog type media **** storm that Merlin create for themselves when a journalist somewhere finally picks up on it.
  5. Great summary BenC, thanks for that. Unfortunately in 2 pages everyone will be talking about coasters again...
  6. It states on the planning it is not a coaster.
  7. This rumor seems to come pretty much annually. Didn't believe it previously, don't believe it now. But just in case... someone get it listed, quick!
  8. You might have found a footer, but it won't be for a coaster!
  9. No way in this world is that the case. The theme of a dark ride is absolutely integral to its design and success, they would not be committing millions without a very clear vision of the final product and with everything required signed off. That is obviously very different to a bloody great coaster where the theme will always be secondary, and to an extent expendable without too significant an impact.

    Your Thorpe Park

Along with the proper hotel being built as per planning, this must the biggest no brainer in the Merlin estate. Could be fab, would fit perfectly, and buckets of cash to be made. Maybe with a water park too!

    Confessions

It's a different world from when we'd be hanging out the side of an open slam - door train carriage half a mile out from the station as the train hurtled along. Fun times, and I didn't die. You couldn't stand too close to the platform edge then, or the doors would hit you, now there's no doors every one stands too close to get on first. Make a change in the name of safety and you just create another issue as people stop thinking for themselves. It's 'elf and safety gone mad now, I tells ya.
  12. Only 'on topic' posts add to the tally, so theme park stuff and not the off topic secrions. I like the idea of beats. I like summer nights. I like ministry of sound. The way they're all mixed up seems to make it a bit confusing though and I think might be part of the problem causing sales lower than expected sometimes. I think they need to simplify their offering somehow.

    Fright Nights 2015

Carnival down from Towers and tweaked to IT theme? Do Lionsgate have anything to do with the remake?
  14. It's that time again, sitting waiting to see what screen unseen will be...
  15. Behind schedule already then?!
  16. It's my guess that the ride will reopen very shortly after the H&S report is published. That will be the point the actual cause is publicly confirmed and I'm sure the report will explicitly state that procedures put in place since mean it can not happen again. They can then use that snippet to allay fears from the public and shut the press up if they go all outragey. Both the publishing and the opening will be big things in the press, may as well combine them and get it all out the way at once.
  17. Really no one should be saying what any individual should or should not have done on the day really. You (we) don't know nearly enough to pass any such judgement.
  18. As if there weren't enough reason not to go to Chessington already.
  19. The Fail still can't even get the basics right... Ride stalls at top of first lift hill? er, no it doesn't. Test carriage stops on batwing as safety sensors are activated? er, no it didn't. How can they lack even a basic grasp of the mechanics of this incident after sooooo many articles?

    Fright Nights 2015

This should be the theme for any new attraction, something for all the family...
  21. Yep. Spiderman show building is nearly three times the size of this, at over 6000 square meters, and that uses two floors within that! That gives a 5 minute ride time, to have anything similar in here the ride would last less than 2 minutes if it went along at a similar pace! Expectations managed. EDIT: Actually, I think I've got that wrong, isn't Spiderman on one floor? If this attraction had the larger two thirds of the building utilising a ride system across two floors the actual ride length could be not too dissimilar. Hmmm.
  22. Little overview from TPM facebook
  23. From memory, it states in the plans it's not a coaster, somewhere in the report regarding the disruption construction is likely to cause it says it'll be less because there's not tonnes of heavy noisy coaster track being delivered. Or something.

    Paultons Park

I got through with about 1.5 million, which I think is actually quite low for a winning score. Found it easier to get high scores on the mobile app than the online version for some reason. Good Luck!
