  1. Saw's is only temporarily remove, in time we will see it return.

Infilling is a long and delicate process, they need to give the newly in-filled land time to settle and compact, and every now and then add another layer on top.
  3. Fire effects are not broken, they have not yet been commissioned due to H&S concerns.
  4. I'm sorry since when did we class badly painted black fibreglass boards theming? Concrete floor and corrugated metal are also not theming, the only theming the ride has is what they could drag out the cupboard. SAW is anything but themed imo.
  5. Both Slammer & Rush have received a substantial amount of maintenance over the closed season, I believe Rush is awaiting some parts and should be set to open for the opening weekend. Slammer should open as usual along with Rumba Rapids on Thursday.
  6. A couple of them were cut down, they are now all gone, looks stupid to be honest! *shakes fist*
  7. ^ And the rest :POn another note, the ride area is amazing, really outstanding! My favourite part was definitly 2 or 3 dedicated speakers at points around the ride, where when the train is approaching & passing 'The Swarm' noise plays out at a deafening tone, most effective in the tower.
  8. There were many empty seats on all the runs The Swarm made, some even had up to half a train empty. There is no need for concern
  9. The Staff got their ride today too!
  10. It's currently sceptical whether Rush will reopen on March 15th.
  11. I hope it's better than the standard, trophies, medals & syringe pens.
  12. I don't think they would spend a day filming people on the ride (baring in mind these people would of been paid) to not use the footage.
  13. Now tell me something I haven't heard a hundred times before.......
  14. Are you actually questioning why it has a divider? You should be grateful we have fire.
  15. I think they had a lot of issues with the spin pads throughout the season with many boats obtaining large rips in the lining of the bottom of the boat. For this reason most of them were removed. Alongside this when the boats started to get stuck they felt the spin pads acted as an obstruction and slowed the boats down significantly .
  16. If anyone is looking for some additonal photos of The Swarm you can find them here : http://www.thorpepark.com/press/image-bank/images.aspx?cat=The+SWARMan example,
  17. There are a few members on the forum that work at the park/have close acquaintances with the park that find information out like that.
  18. I think the park have gone about wisely with staff training starting nearly 2 weeks ago. This give plenty of time for staff to get used to the rides features, functionality and how the ride acts in situations. And as previously said the park is opening on a weekday which gives a nice slow start for both the ride and the staff.I believe the ride is currently being run religiously like a normal operational day. This should iron out any teething problems that may surface.
  19. Not a full one which makes it even better 28 days

Issue with ANY ride being put there it poses major H&S risks as it would be built in the middle of Stealth's ride area. I'm sure the kids that ride Flying Fish wouldn't want to be smacked in the head by flying coins & phones.
  21. I'll take this opportunity to say that on the AP day only around 12-15% of the gate figure were guests of AP holders.
  22. Looks like some works going on in Nemesis Inferno tunnel. Hopefully not just bog standard maintenance and a renewal/repair's of the mist system.
  23. I think the main key selling point would be lakeside view of an extremely well known theme park. Along with this I'm sure the park would of planned to not have a plain looking hotel alike the Holiday Inn at Chessington. Along with this people would find that the less travelling they do the better. If you are coming from far away (not that I'm saying that Chertsey or Staines are particularly far away) the less travelling you do the less stressful the trip becomes.
  24. I think if the park had an Annual Pass day, The Swarm would remain closed as I'm sure the demand would be twice if not three times then that of Storm Surge last year which could lead to the park hitting capacity, Newly trained staff from every department in the park suddenly having mental breakdown because they haven't been 'broken in' to the general routine. As been previously mentioned, The park holds a 'Family & Friends' Preview event, which is a low number of visitors, probably around a thousand (give or take?) To get the staff into the general day to day routine, whether it be batching on a ride or restocking shelves in the Megastore. As Sheepie also said above, the park opens midweek to ease it into the first 'opening weekend' which I'm sure this year will collect high gate figures. If the park had an Annual Pass day and didn't open The Swarm I'm sure the complaints would be on the high side, so I'm sure the park have thought every aspect before concluding their decision whether or not to have a an Annual Pass preview day.
  25. Surprised nobody's mentioned the fact that the back of the plane both fuselage and tail have been... Themed...
