Blackpool TPM Trip With ManorMortis Exclusive 2014
Matt 236 replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2014 Meets
Not sure if I'm able to make this one currently, as it greatly depends on transport and sorting hotel rooms etc. -
Pretty sure I've seen these type devices before. Definitely recall these appearing at Legoland last year and a Chessington has them as well. helpful to those on low phone low phone power.

Things I'd like to see at Thorpe park An airtime machine coaster A woodie At least 2 new dark rides An air race Another B&M Mack launch
-
The following Merlin attractiones (at least) could do with major TLC or refurbishment Thorpe/ Colossus Canada Creek (especially loggers) Rumba rapids Ranger county The dome and surrounding area Towers The gardens Smiler Charlie Rita (or just replace with a Mack launch while they're at it) Flume Chessie Everywhere except wild Asia, market square, Africana, Zufari and parts of Mexicana and Transylvania

Thans for the trip report. It really sums up how Oakwood has seemingly gone downhill and backwards this year with its new fastrack system andpoor operations (I bet waitng for 1 train op on speed makes it 1 train Colossus seem pleasant). Having 5 rides down (4 unannounced) is totally unacceptable. I really hope operations and management improve soon, otherwise he park may not exist for much longer (especially when you give a dog a bad name). Thorpe park in comparison is much better run. Rides will go on 2 trains when needed, ride reliability has improved compared to even 5 years ago with slammer and samurai really being the only rides that manage major downtime apart from Stealth's ocassional day, plus they would give extra tickets if they had 5 rides closed too. I remember visitng once last year and I thoroughly enjoyed the park and managed to ride about everything except the pedaloes. Speed and Megaphobia were fantastic and the new Neverland place was decent, plus the after dark events were great fun and at night it's just an amazing place.

I don't like it, sort of ruins the character that area used to have. Quite a shame really, I hope they do carry out further pointless changes regardless of its limited space as it's just ruining the charm of the place.

Not bad, not bad at all Can't say I'm blown away by it, but then this only the showcase version. Looks rather simplistic ATM, but hopefully we'll see ore details when they're actually finished.

This is very concerning and I hope it can be saved as it won't be good if the uk loses another theme park considering we've lost American Adventure, Ocean Beach,Loudoun Castle, Dream Land and Camelot to mention some who have disappeared in the last 10 years from the industry and I don't think we can afford to lose more. Wish I made it to fantasy island now as it not just home to millenium and odyssey but the weird wonderful world that's Seaquarium.

Thorpe Park Summer Nights Meet Saturday 2nd August 2014
Matt 236 replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2014 Meets
Hope the meet goes well everyone, gutted I couldn't make this one but I'll be there in spirit. -
Sounds exciting and full of potential plus I did think the Hocus Pocus brand was starting to get a little outdated. Very glad ride closings gave reverted back to 8pm because it used to close pretty much when when Halloween began and also means more time for night riding again, considering it doesn't get dark til 5-6pm. Really hope I can make a visit to one this year as from I heard last year the event was fantastic especially Black Forest Haunt and Mystery Of Hocus Pocus.

I'm very disappointed to be hearing this. Went in the summer last year and had a fantastic time last year where the park seemed to be greatly improved with The Neverland area (which I was impressed with) and also infastructure updates. Don't like the sound of their fastrack system at all. I know Merlin's is badly flawed but this sounds worse plus I can't say I'm keen on the recent additions we've received there. Bog standard tea cups and an arcade. I know it's not Disney but just doesn't sound that great, plus I wonder what happened to the proposed plans of the Sleepy hollow area/ Wild West retheme, surely has t gone to plan by the sounds. Sounds like despite a excellent 2013, the parks gone backwards this year (more so than Merlin) and if they don't react soon with positive changes, I fear Oakwood is in great trouble again for the present.

Wackiest ride you've ever seen or been on!
Matt 236 replied to GladiatorFanKyle's topic in General Discussion
The Nautical jets at Wicksteed park. Fun yet strange ride I did. Wasn't able to actually find a video of the ride so this may have to do. Apparently the ride may be removed now which is a great shame if true, though I feel lucky to have ridden them. -
A B&M launch, very excited and happy about that, wonder how it'll, compare to the likes of the Mack launched rides. Either way, I'm very excited about this new ride which is not just another exciting looking B&M and Wing Rider but is expanding the company's product range with its new launch concept.

I think £50 is too much for one day entry to Thorpe, even with the 2 4 1 and season pass offers. I'm strongly against mid season price increases, especially as nothing new has been added to the parks and almost every other uk park (outside of Merlin) charges around half of their prices. £49.99 is such a cheek to not crossing the £50 barrier on Metlins part. Howling before the £60 crossing?

I find it amazing yet ironic that the most visited/ popular themepark in Europe is the most in debt.Hopefully one day they'll finally remove the debt however that day still seems a long way off, even if Ratatouille is massive success.

I hope they will still open Forbidden Valley, mine train and Duel on top of these, (X-Sector & Cbeebies) as though it's good having (what's mostly) the new popular rides open, it would be quite a step back for me if these were the only areas open for ERT.
