hopefully containment is funny as well as scary. there's no character to any of the thorpe mazes, just scare after scare after scare. nice to see one of the attractions being a bit lighthearted for once (and I despise katie hopkins too so yeah..)
-
alright not sayin any names here but some comments in this thread are creepy as **** ... anyway I'm at thorpe 17th october. queues will probably be awful but I've got fasttrack for the mazes so hopefully it's alright
-
have you seen the waiting list facebook group though? they all literally act like they're part of a cult..

the no safe word/no quitting is what makes it so concerning to me. id perfectly understand if people looking for a very extreme experience did this with full knowledge that they could stop at any time...but not being allowed to leave unless you physically can't continue is ridiculous. the fact that this place can get people to the point where they may die or become extremely unwell/injured if they carry on is so ****ed up. its awful

yep I 100 percent agree. I really don't get how it's legal, or why it isn't at least being investigated... disturbing as hell.
-
so...looks like Mckamey is back this year. looks like it's still extremely f**ked up. looks like it's still borderline illegal. it really does look illegal....at least I hope it is. whatever, I hate this place

ive only really done thorpes mazes but when people say they're really intense and full on I just dont get it?? I mean every time ive been through them ive hardly got touched (just stroked) and every maze is just the actors shouting at the top of their lungs and banging everything repeatedly... hardly 'full on' imo but maybe other people see the mazes differently, idk.
-
tott is probably way more tension-filled, and much better themed than any of the thorpe mazes but yeah.. it really isn't that intense. sanctuary on the other hand was insane on my run, but most people don't really seem to have had the same experience that I did . overall though the thorpe mazes are way more claustrophobic, intense and agressive (I guess) than the scarefest mazes.. so I'm really confused as to why the scarefest mazes still have a higher age restriction than the thorpe ones..
-
I agree with the age limits though..I was 15 last year and went on sanctuary and was completely fine, whilst my 12 year old brother did it and cried his eyes out. he left before we even got to the marmalisation room...and he's not really nervous with scare attractions or anything at all. there's obviously a valid reason for the age limits, even if different people are scared of different things.. I personally think thorpes age limit of 13 (??)+ for their mazes is really stupid. if I did any of the mazes aged 13 or younger, I'd be absolutely terrified. but that's just me I guess

also, what did the water tower actually do??

just to say, really glad they're doing a refurb for the hulk. went in july - absolute brilliant ride, but the queue is dated as hell. really boring to stand in, so glad they're doing it up.. but apart from that, when I was at universal (start of august), hulk was breaking down constantly. once a day at least, I don't think I went a day where it didn't break down....so yeah seems like the refurb is really needed. still the ride is great, I'm feeling pretty lucky I got on it just before they closed it

some sort of teaser pic for containment ive never seen
-
^yeah, ive been in both 2013 and 2014, and was never alone once in a maze. even in cabin in the woods, I just held onto my friend. and actor did try to split us up though, they're usually pretty bad at it though to be fair..they can't exactly grab you
-
ok so from the ones ive done: CITW: 9/10, p much due to the ending S13: 6/10, not scary but its p cool. ending was fun too saw: 2/10. ****e MBV: 8/10, pretty intense but way too short blair witch: 7/10, creepy as hell and the ending was kinda intense yeah..thats it
-
he's right, they have changed the lineup each year. I'm happy w MBV, cabin and blair witch for the next few years if we get another new maze (or 2) each year. they're all still great :-). id still really like to see saw changed/rethemed tho...
-
hopefully saw alive improves this year. I'm really not expecting it to change at all (seeing as it never does), but my god. it really really needs to...its not awful or anything its just SO boring. especially in comparison to the other mazes. I've also been on it 3 times and never once seen a pigman either so...yeah it's not great imo
-
agreed on the whole saw alive thing - its definitely the least intense/"scary" maze, but very similair to all the others. if you can make it through saw alive fine you can definitely make it through the others fine
