  1. Wow they really are doing amazing things this year aren’t they. Really well done. Looking forward to seeing Thorpe all shiny and new!
  2. The golden part of the lift hill is now in place! It looks like that’s it now for gold track pieces, only some white pieces to go now. Looking forward to seeing it at its full height. It’s already looking enormous from the M3. Any guesses at an opening date? I’m going to take a punt at early May.
  3. Amazing how quickly 3 years goes isn’t it. It was a nice little maze the first year, but it has definitely run its course I think. A good spot for a FN maze available again now!

Only if they do ride access pass 💅
  5. Looks Incredible There doesn’t seem to be a huge number of rides in the park, but what’s there looks like it could be absolutely amazing. Great to see a duelling coaster returning too! Universal are really putting the pressure on Disney now aren’t they. Can you imagine in a few years time we get a similar trailer for the UK’s universal? A park like this will really shake things up here.
  6. I suppose they could SAW a bit off (while nodding at it of course out of respect) and hang it up somewhere in Exodus’ queue as a nod to the past. Then everyone could nod to it while queueing. The rest could go in to a new “throwback” scare maze - called Scrambled Easter Eggs - with the rest of the thrown out old stuff from the past. It’s not junk if it’s an Easter egg. Rocky Express could go in there too, along with three of those bags that went over your head in The Passing, and one of the old toilet seats from the dome toilets.

Ahh great! That’s good news to see that making a comeback! I love that it’s also the usual pink rather than blood red 😂
  8. Wow the outer bank turn really is banked isn't it. Looking forward to seeing the lift hill go up - it's going to be enormous.
  9. I quite like it. They’re definitely sticking to their promise to make things more vibrant. the track looks amazing too.
  10. 😂 It's not my toilet of choice - I'm partial to Amity's or Swarm's - but I must have been in there since then!
  11. umm, WHAT. At least they survive in the boulevard one I suppose!
  12. I think that’s fair enough, but they do seem to be doing a huge amount in what is really a very short closed season. Hopefully the closed seasons will be a little more like this going forward - they’re never going to fix everything in one go, but fingers crossed they keep the momentum going. Speaking of the toilet upgrades though - I hope they keep the foot pedal operated taps. There’s something very classic Thorpe about the mass unspoken confusion around the sinks.
  13. I do agree that it does seem a bit short-sighted. Thorpe seem quite lucky in that the local community nearly always support their plans, so hopefully that will continue. I'd like to think that future planners will take in to account that the care home was built next door to an existing theme park, NOT that a theme park was built next to an existing care home... The planners knew full well that Thorpe will continue to develop when they approved the care home, so hopefully it's all been properly thought about that common sense will prevail next time TP make an application,
  14. Great news for Amity there - there’s way too much in the way of the view of Tidal Wave.
  15. I really don't understand why people are still pouring their heart out over this. It's not like the logo was the reason people visited Thorpe. It's literally just a logo, and is it really that bad?
  16. Hopefully it will be used to show replays of live streams where YouTubers say a ride name 50,000 times.
  17. That's how businesses work isn't it unfortunately But it is a benefit of being part of a bigger company like Merlin when they do decide to invest.
  18. All very exciting! This definitely seems far more realistic than the London Resort. Traffic and transport seems a lot better here, and it’s also not “the other side of London” to most of the population. Looks to be a great location for a new park! It’s right by Luton Airport too really which will be a big advantage. Also looking at the map (not that I am in any way an expert) it doesn’t seem to be “in anyone’s back yard” as such. It’s a bit of crap disused land on the edge of town out the back of several warehouses and industrial estates. Ideal really since it won’t directly bother anyone too much, other than traffic I suppose? But it’s so close to the M1, and there looks to be space to improve roads if the need arises. I really hope this goes ahead and is supported by the local community as a positive change. The reality is, it’s this, or the usual few-thousand houses plonked on the site with little to no consultation at all, which pose other challenges to the neighbouring towns infrastructure etc. Fingers crossed.
  19. I quite like that behind the text as well. I think it would make the social media logos pop a little more. Also you know all the squiggly bits that appear on the videos and posters etc? I knew it looked familiar… It’s just the thing in the middle of Quantum. I guess an homage to the most underrated ride at the park!
  20. I’ve thought the same about the responses to be honest. Ryanair can get away with it because their entire brand is build around “we’re cheap, that’s it, and if you don’t like it then you can f*** off”… their brand isn’t even about travel or flying, it’s ALL about low price, no frills, and their notorious reputation. I think Thorpe’s CS going down this route is bad and doesn’t fit the new “brighter future” brand at all.
  21. About the resort tagline removal…… The thing is, it just isn’t a resort. They're now all about being open and up front, so calling themselves a resort really doesn’t fit the new brand does it. It never has been a resort, so the whole thing was ridiculous anyway. Removing “resort” is just common sense in my opinion. I don’t think that’s flying in the face of Merlin at all either. Don’t forget; it’s a new Merlin now . There’s nothing wrong with a company acknowledging that things aren’t right and deciding to make a change. Also to those saying that this is a poor effort at a logo - firstly a brand is about so much more than a logo. It’s about how the entire company operates and how it makes the customer feel. The logo is only a small part of a brand. secondly - look up ANY logo and you could make the same argument about “simple fonts” or “anyone could do that”.. but that’s beside the point. One thing I will say though is this; although I feel overwhelmingly positive about all this, if next October I’m stood at fright nights surrounded by hoards of misbehaving morons, with Fastrack oversold by several thousand, and miserable faces everywhere….. this will have all been for nothing. Time will tell!
  22. And here she is ❤️ Nice and colourful, and can be easily used against different backgrounds to suit whatever really. I like it and the whole brand story surrounding it all.
  23. Well DBGT is the future of theme parks so I’m sure that’ll come under the Future video. I’m enjoying these videos too 😊 very nicely done and interesting to see! Really positive to see the park fully acknowledging the problem with all the “darkness” surrounding everything in recent years since Saw. The focus on a brighter future sounds very good to me.
