  1. Maybe, due to how long and harsh winter was this year Chessington are playing it safe by getting more done in seasons when it isn't as frigid and miserable. Just maybe.
  2. I got about 20 tweets about it, Chessington sure aren't one for polite discretion.
  3. What a breath of fresh air you are, nice to hear some positivity on the Chessington board again. Now I'm doubly excited for my visit in three weeks time.
  4. It was very telling the way she kept mentioning her guilt at ruining her and her sons' summer bonding day. Don't blame Chessington for you working mum complex.
  5. It won't be rammed but I wouldn't bank on quiet. The colleges and Uni's are still out, then there's the random school's that are a week later then the rest. But you definitely won't have to put up with this 2 rides in 5 hours nonsense of the summer holidays.
  6. What fillings options are available in the paninis at Creaky Cafe?
  7. Is it just me or are those two words combined highly salacious?
  8. People on Facebook seem to be equating long queues with corporate greed. And yet if anyone of them had been turned away due to the park meeting capacity they would have been just as livid. Were people always this stupid or do you just notice it more as you get old?
  9. He shares a lot of technical information I only pretend to understand, but perhaps there's a slight explanation here? Vampire behind the scenes track walk
  10. Funny thing about that is those awful reviews used to only come after the weekend. Mid week people had more nice things to say about the park. But now they're coming in all week long, this must be the absolute worst time to visit the park.
  11. Kids are sticky, wasps like sticky and Chessington has more little kids so I'd expect it to have twice as many wasps as Thorpe. I was at Bekonscot Model village today and there were wasps even in the car park, it's just that time of year.
  12. Every weekend is followed by an onslaught of people complaining about queuing and wasps. Evidently lots of people forgot it's the summer holidays.
  13. Has anyone shared this site before? Site featuring Chessington photos from 1960's It's definitely the first I've seen images this old. There are some serious H&S violations going on with the large animals. And it says two elephants died from being fed mouldy ham sandwiches by guests...wth!?
  14. Crikey the park looks flat and naked, it practically screams youth. Dang I only half believed my mother when she said she recalled there being a Polarbear at Chessington. I looked it up though and luckily it seems he wasn't in that sad pit for very long. Apparent former keeper info about bears kept at Chessington. I wish that Transylvania sigh still existed in some form today.
  15. Probably as busy as it get's. People back home from holidays, parents off for the bank holiday, last chance to go before schools are back, predicted great weather.
  16. At a staggering 5'2 I can't say I've experienced such things.
  17. Remove their flagship coaster? I don't think they'd ever have the nerve, not only would hardcore fans hit the roof but they'd never get planning permission to built anything like it in the same location. Not to mention you're talking about spending some serious millions. Merlin like the glue and paint approach for the main reason that it's cheap.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if Travellers were involved.
  19. There's a little bit of rain predicted for Thursday and Friday, that might work in your favour. As long as you give her top-ups before you get in a queue you should be fine, and try to do the big rollercoasters as early as possible.
  20. While there are many things from Old Chessington I'd like to put back into current Chessington I really can't say I'd like to swap them entirely. I mean that park's tiny, there's like 6 rides (hyperbole). Can you even imagine what nightmare queues would be generated from modern day visitor numbers. And for the most part it's catering to families with little children, it's not nearly as well balanced as it is now in terms of family entertainment. Not to mention how terrifying it would be to know an entire ride area was crawling with clowns. *shudder*
  21. Yep. Queue length + car capacity - cars running - batching performance = time for lunch.
  22. Yeah considering when you drive through Whipsnade's Passage Through Asia all you'll see are three herds of deer things Zufari sounds positively thrilling.
  23. If I were planning on braving this event which day in the half term would most likely see the least traffic? I'm guessing Monday the 28th might be my best bet?
  24. So that means the witches aren't returning this year?
