    X

So, I rode on the new X for the first time yesterday...I have to admit...I love it this way. I particularly liked the use of the laser projection on the lift hill I can only really sum it up as a nightclub on a track. I never used to re-ride this when it was 'No Way Out', but I rode it a few times yesterday. Only a few things got to me about it really - 1) The queue is stupidly long although, I'm not sure if they could really shorten it by much without causing too much hassle. 2) The gaping hole where the old baggage hold area used to be. Probably could've been covered up or kept in use maybe? 3) I personally think that as great as this overhaul has been for X, it needs to be thrown out there a bit more. I was asked twice, whilst outside it - "Is this ride closed or open?". It seems like no-one knows that it even exists, and part of me feels Storm Surge looming over it doesn't help!
  2. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Thorpe Park yesterday as a late birthday celebration for her. It turned out to be a great decision! After a slight detour through Chertsey and Staines (thanks Google Maps!), we made it to the car park for 9:45. I was really shocked to find I was parked in the first row of parking as there was literally 12 other cars there! The ticket booths opened, we bought our tickets (with a 2-4-1) and headed into the park. It was and remained really quiet all day! We even managed 4 successive rides on Colossus before our stomachs told us not to do it anymore. Our hopes of riding SAW more than once was soon put to bed by someone who thought going on it after lunch would be an amazing idea! Ride Count - Swarm - 7 (2 backwards) Stealth - 1 Nemesis Inferno - 1 Colossus - 4 Flying Fish - 1 X - 3 Depth Charge - 3 Saw - 1 Rumba Rapids - 1 Total - 22

    Youtube Videos

As a WWE fan, that Connor the Crusher video is so amazing. Such a great tribute. But even if you aren't a fan of wrestling, I desperately urge you to watch it. Tears will be shed.
  4. I personally find it easier to navigate. Looks cleaner. You can tell they're looking at going for the modern resort look though haha!
  5. Hahaha, I never thought this would cause such confusion lol. I'm taking a small/medium rucksack, with my camera in which is why I asked. But at this rate, it might be best to avoid the water rides lol
  6. Ahh ok That's brilliant to know! I just don't want my camera getting wet somehow through my bag haha!
  7. I know that the majority of the major rides have bag storage areas where you hand your bag to the ride attendant in exchange for a wrist band, or you put them in a lockable cabinet (with Colossus). However, I was curious as to whether the water rides have this option? Last time I went, Loggers Leap never had a storage section. Is X also a problem as I haven't been since the refurb and haven't been on it in a LONG time.
  8. I took this photo when I was in London back in April 2012. This was the top floor which as you can see used to host a bowling alley. I think that when I was there, a laserquest type thing was still open on the "top" floor that was still open. It's such a shame that this place has gone to the ruins really, but I can imagine the hotel here will generate quite a bit of money!
  9. That is exactly what I'm hoping for on the 13th!
  10. I'd love posters! Maybe some "TPM Exclusives" ?
  11. Ok...I already have the old Swarm resin, but I think my paycheck is going to be a hell of a lot lighter after the 13th!!! All resins must be bought!!!
  12. Putting THORPE PARK in capitals like that makes it look weird...
  13. Would it be worth re-theming away from Atlantis to something else? If so, then what theme? If not, then would it be worth going to a clean, simple generic look that fits with the map style? (if you get what I mean)
  14. ^ Same happened to me about 2 years ago. There were low rumbles of thunder, and staff weren't too bothered as it seemed far away in the distance. So, my brother and I queued for Stealth. We got into the seats, and it started to rain a little. Then as we're launched it starts hammering down in true British weather fashion and heading to the top, a crack of lightning hit (what looked like) just behind The Swarm. Then as we got off, we noticed they were starting to shut most the outdoor rides off. So we took that as our chance to get lunch until the storm passed over. Now, whether the lighting strike WAS right behind the Swarm wasn't exactly clear, but it was sure enough nearby that they felt the need to shut the outdoor rides!
  15. To be honest, I would quite like to be on when it rolls back. Not sure why, but at least you get a second go!
  16. I'm looking at going on Tuesday 13th May (as it's my first day off after my pay day the friday before!). Do you think it'll be quiet or busy?

    Jobs..

So after 4 years of waiting, I have gone from 11 hours a week to 35 hours a week as a Grocery Delivery Driver. It's pretty hard work, but it's great money and you meet some interesting characters! Sometimes it comes out the blue, but things will come along one day!
  18. Looks like something from RCT3!
  19. So tonight, I sat down and finally got round to watching Saving Mr. Banks. My rating - 9/10 I thought that this was an excellent film. Very well laid out and gave great insight into the relationship between Walt Disney and P.L.Travers. Provided that it was as close as truth as possible, I think that it showed how determined Walt was to follow his dreams and make others happy. However, I do feel that there could have been some more light shed on Travers' life between her childhood and where she was in 1960. Altogether, a very well put together piece and one that I would willingly watch over and over
  20. Random question - Does anyone have an aerial view of the area before and after renovation, overlapped?

    Nemesis

So, how many years do people think that good old Nemesis has got left in it's tank? Personally, I can't see it going anywhere for a long time provided it's well kept and refreshed every so often!
  22. I would just like to point out, that as an ex-public schoolboy myself, some of us DO know what the real world is like However, I will admit that even some of the people I went to school with still aren't too clued up on what the real world is. I thank my military upbringing for that! My rant - People who go to University then say "I don't have to worry about paying back the loan". No...I'm sorry. University used to be a sacred thing. You'd go there to get a degree that meant something. These days it seems like you can get a degree in almost EVERYTHING! So, to me most degrees aren't worth the paper they're written on. When you go to Uni, you are already made aware that you will be paying for it. It's called a loan for a reason. You need to pay that back as it's not your money in the first place. If you don't pay it back, then you are in fact damaging your own economy. However, what most people don't realise, is not paying your loan back can in fact damage your credit rating in the future!
  23. Why has my post count stayed at 100?! Even though I've posted tonnes since it hit 100?!

The post count doesn't seem to go up if you post in the 'Off Topic' area.
