Orlando 2014
Hi Crafty, I went in January for a birthday celebration, and stayed in Orlando, at the Rodeway Inn on South Kirkham Road, off International Drive (I-drive).If you want cheap, no frills accommodation with disinterested staff then this is the place, though it had and gave me all I needed, except internet access (obtained locally). I thought January would be quiet, though it turned out that it was South America's summer holiday; the richer the country, the more of their people were present. As England never conquered South America none of them spoke much English and knew nothing of queue etiquette so the elbows were used effectively. Really though, the queues weren't too bad. Universal is within walking distance from the top end of I-drive, and there was a free bus service early in the morning to Disney World, returning either 6, 8 or 10p.m.. I was on my own, therefore able to do what I liked and at my own speed, I.e. nutty pace. I hope that helps.

Rant
Chill, we all have to work at friendship. Turn it round, you know you make the effort, you know how you like to be treated, move on and be you. Don't allow them to have the same criticism of you, you are obviously better than that; you just have to show them how it's done, and don't waste your brain cells fretting about it. Life is the biggest roller coaster ride, not always comfortable, but wow, what a ride.

Just about sums up "professionalism" in that they've used at least two shots of empty trains - perhaps they never noticed that one train was never occupied. At least it only "snowed" during our session, and not rained.

Just checked and found I am home too so a big thanks to Peaj for organizing and keeping tags on names and "handles", also keeping the scores on the evenings orders. Thanks to TP for inviting us, and special thanks to staff who turned in early to operate the ride. Interesting day, on my favourite ride, I understood that there was a photoshoot on at the same time but think we had the better draw. Sorry to those that I did not speak to, or failed to return to conversations with, and great to meet people. Sorry also, that I dropped out of the TP ride tour so quickly as I had to return to Stealth just to make sure it was working okay still, it was, all day. Promise that in the future I will ignore Stealth and be more sociable, well, I'll try.

It was the rain that woke me, and I'm thinking "I'm 5 miles from Thorpe Park, it's wet! very wet!"

Sorry! Wow! that was close, I got in for night shift tonight to find they had re-arranged the shifts and given me another night shift for the Wednesday to Thursday; lots of texting and one of my colleagues luckily will now do tonight's shift, phew! Ah, I never considered the weather forecast, oh!

Did you not see this on page one of this thread " If you want to come but cannot due to not having a ticket please do not worry! THORPE PARK as an incentive to come due to the early hours mid week are offering priority passes for the day for those that come, which will include your entry." Chin up, there's hope!

Okay then, parade time 0700, correct? and the ticket, would that take care of the car park fee? Just thought I'd ask.

1st time visiting on Sunday - any tips?
I would say that the SWARM queue is easiest between 1.30p.m. and 3p.m., well it always looks like a lull around that period. Problem with the Colossus queue is that once you are in it, it is very difficult to hop out; I would generally check the length of that queue by observing from the path/bridge over it. Saw's queue can be observed beyond Samurai, alongside the Saw building. Nemesis Inferno is all in sight, but they open the overflow rat-run sometimes, so that is another good twenty minutes on it's own. I always say that if you want to do Tidal Wave, only on a very hot day, and before 11a.m.. Have a great day.

Ride Accidents
Odd world we live in - this was a seventy year old lady!

Ride Accidents
Absolutely under height - she's slipped under - restrictions are there for a reason, and where properly trained staff are employed, this should never happen.

Use of the water?
Is there any consideration by TP to utilize the large area of water remaining? though boats have smaller capacity, there always seems to be a need to build on land and as recently, reclaim water areas to build. Even a ride going into the water area?

Rameses Revenge
"Annie won't be racing to the front of any theme park queue......" well don't be daft, flog the ticket on eBay!

Cinecittà World
Perhaps that's because on a more negative G section it will not be subjected to the stresses that other parts are, similar to Heineken?

ERT Nemesis Inferno 10th Birthday Celebration
Nice write up... having a "fear of heights" doesn't seem to have put you off having a great day and venturing onto a few of the higher rides.

OWCT (OAKWOOD AND CARDIFF TRIP)
The first time I went over there was a shock; I always thought 130 miles west of the River Severn was call "Ireland"!

Tripsdrill
whoops, the trains look like a cross between Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Millenium Falcon; short ride lots of turns, hmmm!

Liseberg
I've wanted to go this park for a couple of years now; the rides and location appear great and now with this to arrive... and it looks great....and apart from that, the "Airport" that one lands at is a former military base with a museum in it's underground hangers, how cool is that? well for a Plane Nut, very cool!

How Busy Is It Going To Be?
As most of you know the youngsters these days, finish the exams, and this is at the local colleges as well, then do "trips" to TP for various reasons, the main one is to stand in the queue in front of me. I met some kids last week who told me that they were on a bonus school trip for "full attendance", they didn't understand when I told them to go back to school to maintain that record. The half term to the end of the summer term is worst, then as suggested the earlier part of the main summer holiday is best if you want to go. Someone did suggest a Sunday is good, but I have always tried to avoid them too.

ERT Nemesis Inferno 10th Birthday Celebration
I'll see if I have time to say "hello" as I aim to be in the park but not necessarily on the same rides. I'll probably be wearing a shirt with an aeroplane on it, then you have to guess the age group, etc.etc.. Hope you all have a good day, and especially the ERT.
