I just realised a slight flaw in the system. I was trying out reserve n ride and it turns out you don't actually have to be at thorpe park to reserve... This means that people at home can mess up the system(not my intention I promise!) by adding loads of people in making the queue much longer for people at the park. Needs a thing to determine your location as it can easily be tampered with and messed up.

I DO completely understand Prioject LC and as much as anyone wants to attack me for it, I understand where he is coming from. So everyone please hear me out... I haven't tried RNR yet but I intend to at some point, and it is all very well using it with the main queue as well to make guests happy however they must use the system properly to make it any good! RNR is making the main queues ridiculous, the amount of complaints I've seen saying nemesis stated 50mins and they waited 2 hours due to reserve n ride. If thorpe want to implement the system, they MUST sort out the ratios. I know that's the reason the trials are here but the staff are only letting RNR guests through by the sounds of things, they aren't even trying to control the correct ratios. Anyway, if thorpe only let the big rides be queued on RNR, the people would be moved. You would have 5000-10000 on a busy day all going to the flat rides. Thorpe do not have enough shows to suck up the people and they would all be moved to different rides in the park, meaning they would get massive queues. There is no such thing as a queue-free theme park. The British love to queue, when slammer was closed on Wednesday for checks, an hours queue formed outside the entrance even though it wasn't even open! My point is, you can't get rid of the queues in thorpe park, they will simply be moved making other rides have dreadful queues. I'm sorry this has been stressy but if thorpe either don't sort out their ratios, or operate it with both main queue and RNR(unlike their plans)- with correct ratios, it simply will not work. I hate to be negative but there is no way of getting rid of queues, there is only a way of moving them to other places.

It's really not that bad. Sure it's really scary waiting in the queue and when you're inside, but when you come out you just laugh your head off. Well I did anyway. I absolutely love the mazes even though I'm so scared in the queueline and inside the maze!

It was the same in Portaventura in Spain, we em had express for 4 days for €50 and everyone with express was like us, staying in the hotel. Even though there were 2 hour queues for baco and shambhala etc. most of the Spanish were willing to wait it out. There was also an option to have 10 rides for €20 which I thought was ridiculously cheap so was suprised no one was buying it. However, the park was open till midnight and then 4am on one night so that could well explain why... I would love thorpe to try no fastrack whatsoever for a month or so. I know this will never happen as fastrack users will get really angry however it would be lovely to see how much quicker the main queue moved up because I bet it is at least twice as fast for most rides. Would be nice to see but it will never happen, however I don't think reserve n ride can work on top of fastrack, the ratios then become even more ridiculous for main queues meaning they are practically stationary. On Project LC point, I have to agree, the 5000-10000 people who are all virtually queueing on the coasters will having nothing to do but infect the other flat rides meaning that the flat ride queues will massively increase. Some of the queues were full on Wednesday for the flat rides so I seriously doubt they cannot handle more people if the system was introduced. Anyway, we will see over these few trial days how all the public fair with the system, I just cannot see both fastrack and RNR working at the same time.

There is still the issue of fastrack on a normal day though, the queues all move so much slower due to ridiculous ratios. I hope this can be sorted out.

It's not confirmed, just what I saw on facebook. But knowing thorpe they will be doing both systems at the same time and the amount of fastracks going through is ridiculous without the reserve n ride. I would hate to even imagine what it's like to be in the main queue during this trial. Luckily Thursday isn't reserve n ride, but there will still be the problem of fastrack. If it is as bad as people state on facebook, I will be complaining face to face with customer services as it is getting out of hand. Quote from facebook: Tash Rimer Today at 06:30 "I am absolutely disgusted Thorpe Park! Firstly after being a frequent customer with our family of 5 - we have come today, spent a future to be lied too about queue times. Currently been 90 mins in nemesis where you say 50 min and haven't moved at all for half an hour due to your reserve and ride! Needless to say after spending a fortune to get to you and then entrance fees - you expect people to pay an additional £15 per ride to reserve a space. You don't even move the normal queue along! Seeing as we have all paid good money to be here! You ought to be ashamed. After 15 frequent visits per year - we will not be coming again! An official complaint will also be sent in."
-
Id just like to point out how many complaints there are on thorpe parks facebook etc. Thorpe park's staff are only letting fastracks through onto the rides and this is because there are full fastrack queue lines they are trying to get rid of(as experienced on Thursday). This is resulting into people having to wait up to an hour extra than the specified queuetime due to ridiculous ratios. I hope thorpe stop overselling fastrack and the staff actually move the normal queues up as I will certainly not appreciate waiting longer than specified due to poor staff and oversold fastrack. On a side note apparently reserve n ride is now £15(overall or per ride, not sure) to use and is having a huge affect on main queues. Apparently main queuers are not moving up due to staff being told to move reserve n ride through first. The systems need to be sorted out as waiting 2 hours instead of 1 hour will not be appreciated when I go on Thursday.

I don't like it. My personal opinion is that the layout looks really stupid, all the hills in the first half are banked to the side meaning there is no proper airtime over them, and when you do get the proper airtime hills it seems to travel really slowly over them. I really don't like the layout, and I know I haven't ridden it so I can't comment(even though it's not out yet!), I really prefer the design and feeling of a ride like shambhala(which is amazing!) where you have traditional camelback hills and a couple of special elements. Would be nice to see how it turns out I just don't like the layout at all. I would imagine it is very smooth however as most B&M coasters are very smooth with a nice ride experience. I am unlikely to ride it in the near future so I can only imagine what it is like to ride it.

Thanks very much josh for chat last night! It was great fun despite Jason and I failing horribly on the mr and mrs game The quiz was also great and although it was really hard I scored a respectable 9 in 2nd place! Once again, thank you! It's great to have organised chats now and then to get to know everyone better

I have to agree with you on this last point. I would be furious if I had been queue jumped and no action had been taken. If I were you I would write into guest services and only HOPE they fix the problem. However, my guess is they will only offer you free fastracks to try and cover it up. If I am ever queue-jumped again I will be talking to the ride team and then if they fail to do anything I will be having a personal word with the guest services department. It's not something I appreciate and the issue shouldn't be there in the first place.

On Wednesday they loaded everyone on and batched people to the air gates before checking the restraints of the people who had just got on the ride. A slightly quicker approach to it I think but it was still dreadfully slow, probably taking around 10mins per cycle. As long as it stays open I'm happy as it is my favourite ride at thorpe despite the massive head rush!
-
Free fastracks force people to return to the park to use them. This requires them to buy a ticket therefore making the park money. It also improves guest satisfaction as it means they forget about the bad stuff in the park.
-
That's good, I hope it stays open for next Thursday

There was 12,000 on park according to the slammer ride team.

When I was speaking to the ride attendant about the major breakdown last year, he said that it was NOT because it was a major problem. It was just the fact a part was broken and had to be made from scratch. After the part was made it only took a couple of weeks for engineers to fix. The checks have no set time, they can be really quick or take ages, depending on what the engineers decide. The queueline will close about 2:30 but the checks are meant to be at 3. Be aware that during this peak summer people will wait outside for the checks to end. We waited for 40mins for the cycles to finish and then the checks to be done. By this time there was an hours queue of people waiting behind us to get into the queueline. My best advice is to get there at just before 11 if you want a short queue, as there is a massive queue right after the checks as people have been waiting for it to reopen.

Will samurai be up and running for next Thursday? Because the ride attendant said it would be! Thanks

I just had a look an I could barely see it. But to be fair the only rides I could properly see were the coasters as they had been made so large. That was the first time I've looked at a thorpe park map since 2012
-
To be perfectly honest not many people seem to know its there though, and it's definately not on the queue time board. Sorry for being incorrect about the map, I never get one as I know my way round off by heart.

Hi all, I was wondering what your top ten rides at thorpe park were, this is including rollercoasters, flat rides and water rides. I thought it would be fun to compare! Anyway here's mine: 1. Slammer- I love this ride especially on the right hand side, the ride is amazing and will hate to see it go. Love the feeling of free falling. 2. The Swarm- The ride has got so much more intense and forceful over the past couple of years and I really enjoy it much more than I used to. 3. Saw: The ride- I love this ride, it always feels like it has a long ridetime and I love both the indoor and outdoor sections. The elements are really fun and enjoyable and I never find it too rough. 4. Stealth- I think this ride is both short and sweet. The launch is great and the feeling of acceleration is incredible. However it's just too short and after riding Baco it feels so much less intense than it used to. 5. Inferno- I love nemesis inferno and just wish it was a bit longer. My favourite element of the ride is the zero g roll however the rest of it is thoroughly enjoyable. 6. Samurai- I love samurai and although it's really luck whether you get a good ride, when you do get a good ride it is really fun and sometimes quite intense. I hope it keeps up on the intense setting it's been on this year. 7. Detonator- I love detonator, it isn't the best drop tower I've been on but certainly is the most intense. I love the feeling of when you drop and it gets to me every time I ride it. 8. Rush- I love rush when you are on the good swing. It is fun and fast while not too Intense and you get a feeling of flying out of your seat. 9. Quantum- I have no idea why this is in the kiddy rides section, it is really intense when you get a good cycle and usually doesn't have a long queue. A thoroughly enjoyable ride. 10. Vortex- Vortex snags the last spot however I only enjoy the ride when you get the top seat. When you are on the bottom half of the ride, it is boring and I really only enjoy it when you get the high swings. I hope the cycle can be improved so everyone gets high swings. I think it's a shame that X and Colossus don't get in my top 10 but Colossus is way too rough and painful and it's just not very enjoyable for me anymore but I will ride it. X is way too short for my liking and a lot of the time the ride has a way too long queue for me to bother to do it. However, if X has a short queue I will do it as I think the music and light show is great, the ride is much much better than it used to be but I can't put it into my top ten at the park Anyway that's my top ten for you, what's yours?

Slammer was running great today. Whilst operations were dreadfully slow as always the performance from the ride was brilliant. I mean at least it's open right?! I sincerely reccomend waiting for the right side even if you have to wait a ride extra. The right hand side is so much better than the left, I'm not sure why but the feeling is so much better and you get a better view of free falling aswell. If you are visiting soon, please be aware that slammer only opens around 11am and will close at 3pm for checks. However a queue still forms for the ride at 3pm which we were at the front of! There was a 60minute length queue behind us to get into the rides queueline! The ride staff said it was typical British people forming a queue for a queue I really hope slammer stays for 2015 as I would hate to see it go but seeing as it's not on the park map or queue time board I'm not sure that's likely. But if thorpe are reading this PLEASE keep it as long as possible as it is my favourite ride on park including all the coasters so I will cry if it goes.

Okay Project LC I was also at the park yesterday so I know everything and anything which was going on as I am very observant about the park. I got into the park about 9:30 due to the fact I was collecting my annual pass from the building. At this time all the rides were open apart from loggers leap and slammer as far as I'm aware. We did rush with no queue first thing and the batcher was fine, there was no queue so it didn't make a difference but the whole row was filled on our ride. After doing that we went to nemesis inferno and I can CONFIRM they put train 2 on about 10:00 if not slightly earlier. We were in the queue whilst this was happening and it was slightly annoying as it meant we had to wait and it should have been put on earlier. Anyway after this we went to stealth with no queue luckily before it broke because I'm sure it was down for way more than an hour. Stealth never reached 100mins at any point during the day, the longest reached was 90mins for Colossus and swarm. You can disagree all you like but I am very observant of queue times and I know what was what. Rush did reach 50mins however but vortex ONLY reached 30mins. I have to agree that the breakdowns today were ridiculous though. At no point there was less than two major rides closed and this is awful for such a busy day. loggers and slammer were closed for a portion of a morning and saw, stealth, Dodgems and were closed for the whole afternoon. Samurai was also down for the whole day meaning at one point there were 4 major rides closed which is awful. Operations weren't exactly great either. I hope when I go next week all coasters are on 2 trains right from the word go. The flat rides operations weren't great either. Quantum, zodiac and slammer were all taking about 10mins to load which is dreadful and quantum went to 30mins with not even half the queue full. Rush and quantum were also having problems. The swing by the air gates on rush was still awful and the bars kept playing up meaning the staff had to recheck them about 3 times. Quantum didn't have a great cycle either. The first half was OK but when it tried to make it over the top it failed and put the brakes on and slowly lowered itself back to the ground. Not sure what that was about though and was not worth a 30min queue but the cycles were good in the morning. Hope things will be better next week when I go because it's likely to be busier.

I think they need to sort their rides out as they seem to be breaking an awful lot! As I said samurai was down the whole day today. Saw was open for a couple of hours max. Stealth, loggers, slammer and Dodgems were all down for a few hours aswell. At one point there were 4 rides unavalible at once. Not good! Just would like to point out swing A on rush is still awful compared to swing B and isn't reaching 90degrees. Disappointing really needs to be fixed.

Visited today, was quite disappointed and not many pros I can find about the day. Anyway I have a ridecount for you and no queue peaked over 90mins which was decent: Rush x2 Nemesis Detonator Stealth Vortex x2 Slammer x5 Quantum x3 Rocky express Angry birds 4D Rumba rapids The swarm x2 Total: 20 Pros: -Angry birds 4D was fun and had nice effects but felt a bit repetitive -Slammer was OPEN the majority of the day and managed to get on it 5 times, currently my fave ride on park will hate to see it go. -Managed 20 rides which is decent for a summer day. -Sunken gardens are really calm and peaceful and a nice place for a relaxing break, don't want them to be removed. -Park opened early at 9:30 and ERT started before 9:20 as it was open when I arrived. Cons: -Storm surge was 80mins and was dropping massives of water on guests on the path. -Stealth, Saw, Loggers and the Dodgems all had CONSIDERABLE downtime during the day. -Slammer took at least 10minutes per loading and when it got had engineer checks around 3pm a 60minute queue formed to get in the queue(luckily we were at the front!) -Queue time boards were way out, zodiac stated 20mins but my friends waited 60mins. -Samurai was down ALL DAY. -Kids rides were way too long; banana boat, teacups, quantum(due to ridiculous slow loading) and fish all 30mins. Depth charge 60mins. -Thorpe park bus was ridiculous, don't appreciate waiting in a cattlepen to get on a bus when there are 3 buses lined up infront of me all empty and not moving anywhere. -All of rumba rapids effects were off making it even more dull. I think that's about it

I was told 10th was likely to be the preview night. I wouldn't be allowed to go on the Thursday due to school so hoping its on the week before. Will go on the Friday evening anyway if there isn't a preview as I can imagine it won't be too bad!

I'm in . But if I've forgotten about it and not there at a few minutes after 7:30 just start without me
