Hi to all, I am visiting right at the beginning of summer at the beginning of July. I was wondering whether this would be a busy stay? To those who have visited what rides get the longest queues? I've never been before and am super excited as apparently it's a great park. Many thanks to all, James

Just to clear this up, Tuk Tuk turmoil DOES have a lap bar. There is a massive lap bar which comes down but doesn't lock, pretty useless really, if they are going to have it, it should at least lock. EVIDENCE: I rode it last year. The non locking lap bar is pretty useless though as we were on the ride when a lady's dodgem wasn't working so she got out of the car to go and complain. She was hit by another Dodgem and fell over onto the track. The ride had to be emergency stopped but it was really her fault if I'm honest... *Not to be pedantic but there are clearly lap bars on those cars...*

Like the Q-bot system at legoland? I've never used it before but it's a payed system and I've heard it works well!

From what I recall other people saying, vampire is currently managing about 400/500pph and dragons fury is barely managing 800pph. I am also certain that tomb blaster, scorpion express, bubbleworks and zufari do not make high throughputs either. As for dragon falls, that may reach 1000pph but if you exclude that, safari skyway is still highest throughput on park. I am still very confused though, how is it getting a 50minute queue, it isn't really THAT exciting is it?

You can't register onto more than one phone but my system still works? The system I have described above will still work as you each register on your phone.I don't actually think there is a way to fix this problem, cheating of the system is always going to happen no matter what? Also, if you have a tesco ticket will you still be able to reserve n ride as it is now 'attactched' to your ticket ID?

Pluk, I was thinking exactly the same last night. The system can be cheated. If you have 5 people in your group, you can ALL still book for your whole group each on one device. From the sounds of it, the system hasn't actually changed and if the queue times are 10minutes in differences your whole group can just queue for all 5 coasters at once, for example: There are 5 people in the group, person A B C D and E. Each person makes an account on the software and books for 5 people each time. Swarm has a queue time of 30minutes, person A books swarm for 5 people on his smartphone. Stealth has a queue time of 40minutes, person B books stealth for 5 people on his smartphone. Nemesis has a queue time of 50minutes, person C books nemesis for 5 people on his smartphone. Colossus has a queue time of 70minutes, person D books Colossus for 5 people on his smartphone. Saw has a queue time of 90minutes, person E books saw for 5 people on his smartphone. In 30 minutes from lets say 11:00, your whole group will get on swarm. They can then head to stealth and get on straight away followed by nemesis, Colossus and saw. You have completed all the rollercoasters in 1 hr 30! I'm not saying this cheat should be used but it is so OVBIOUS and I don't think thorpe can physically remove this cheat. If they have, then well done however it doesn't sound like they have made any changes. My other problem is, if there are lets say 10,000 people on park who ALL use reserve n ride on the day for these 5 coasters, then each will immediately go up to 2 hours and then the flat rides will also have massive queues. As it has been said before, there is no way to get rid of queues and they will always remain no matter if people queue virtually or not.

I think thorpe noticed this topic and took it down as the link is currently not working.... CURRENTLY however this may change soon.

Whilst I do enjoy samurai(and sometimes vortex and zodiac etc.), I do have to agree with you. You can find them in lots of other places and in all of those places, they are run ten times faster and more intense. Slammer and rush are the only unique ones to the UK and I enjoy them for that. I absolutely adore slammer and I would hate to see it go but it does seem to be suffering too much and I think it's time may end soon. However, I hope it gets replaced with something unique which we isn't found ten times better at funfairs!!

I'm not shooting you down, I'm shooting chessington down. I'm sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous. I will definately not be visting the park if this system is in use. It may benefit pass holders, but everyone else is gonna be damn right annoyed. This is so awful, I can't actually believe this new system. It is fine to let pass holders have premiums before and after park times, but during the park times is gonna be insane. Just imagine, a thousand pass holders all turning up at 10am, running straight to vampire, entering through fastrack making the queue time immediately about 3 hours(normal guests included). I'm sorry this is just not going to work at all.

Oh wow this company have already put thorpe's rides on their main page inside the Q-bot Isn't this the system they use at legoland where you have to pay extra for it?
-
Sorry to challenge your information but how is it going to be 1 and a half hours long if the park opens at 10? If it is until 10:30 I can see lots of unhappy guests who have arrived for park opening and not being allowed in because of ERT!

Hi all, I was just having a look at the thorpe website and I've noticed a feature on it. https://www.thorpepark.com/tickets-passes/ticket-information/ When you click on tickets the options come up, RESERVE N RIDE, is the last on the list however risk still there. However, when you click on it, it comes up with an error message! My question is mainly aimed at thorpe however it takes a while to do a direct message to them so I was wondering if anyone knew if they had plans to bring back the system? Many thanks.

Are there the stupid lap bars like at chessington, I hope there aren't? I was at a fair with one way only but there were only two cars so we could not physically catch up so we weren't doing anything. We decided to ignore the rule and that made it much more fun. One way rules are stupid however I understand head on head bumping as we did head on head bump and the car literally flew in the air. I may ride the thorpe ones depending on the queue, I'm not prepared to wait a long time and if they have a stupid non-lockable bar like chessington I will definately not bother!

Hope they continue to keep up the good work, thumbs up to the team.

Skater from Kasier? That has to be one of the best designed, run and most fantastic ride experiences out there. Was absolutely astonished when I rode it aswell As for the ride itself, I would like it if they slowed it down and ran it slowly like last year however oiled the seats lots every month or so so that the cars flip loads like last year:
-
I would of thought, if it opened they would keep it descrete because it is liable to breaking down any moment. If it is open, I doubt they will make it public however have signs at the park saying it is open just not to get people's hopes up by putting it online. If it does open, I hope it runs until the end of the summer as I want to get back on it but won't be able to until the summer!

Despite samurai being run much faster... I still feel the cycles are very disappointing. Look at the row with only three people, the arm doesn't spin properly meaning the car goes under the same position of the ride each time you go round. This arm did not flip once(the one with three people on the end) as it was at the very top point going forwards and backwards. On a properly run Topscan, this would get flip as the arm would be propelled forwards then rocking backwards and forward etc... That would make it one of the best seats on the ride. My point is, the ride isn't giving a fair spin just like vortex to be honest. There are seats which are MUCH better than others. These cycles are awful and I hope they can be changed at once. Thorpe PLEASE read this as I don't want people queuing an hour and getting the worst seats. FIX THE RIDES!!
-
That's my main problem with it though... The people at the bottom are bored completely. Getting the underside it just too boring. The cycles definately need improving to give a range of heights.

Sorry to break the news but the event has been cancelled now. This is due to the funderworld company and attractions/current setup still being at global village in dubai. I know it sucks because we really need our rides back in the UK. Sorry to break it to ya https://www.facebook.com/events/583610005001896/permalink/822987851064109/ HOWEVER there will be a funfair on Durdham Downs from the 23rd May to 1st June featuring a star flyer and other rides.

It is going to be absolutely ridiculous, especially on the opening weeks. I hope if they are actually selling it they make it a ridiculous price like £20 per person so not many people buy it. Otherwise it will undoubtably be like the mazes at fright nights with ridculous fastrack to queue ratios with fastrack being let in three times for main queue once.
-
On the topic of the Dodgems, and maybe I should be asking thorpe themselves this, but do you think there will be fastrack sold for them ESPECIALLY on opening day? I just have a feeling there are gonna be ridiculous 4 hour queues for a Dodgem ride as the queues at thorpe seem to be getting longer and longer these days! On top of that, if thorpe decide to sell fastrack I can see it all being a disaster. I think the land itself will be good but if they sell massives of fastrack I will certainly be unsure about it all. However, when I'm next visiting I probably won't even ride the Dodgems as it's likely to be quite busy and I'm not prepared to wait ages for Dodgems which you can get at the fair

I think the reason the bag drop has been changed was due to the fact that empty trains were being sent round while there was still a long queue outside. People were waiting to put their bags in while there was no one in the station. With it now at the entrance, the queue has a constant flow meaning it can achieve its maximum throughput when it's busy. Correct me if I'm wrong here?As for X itself, I pretty much love everything about it. The music and lights are absolutely brilliant and I would only make the track longer as an improvement(if that was even possible!). I don't know how but when I get off I feel like the lights and the darkness have made me very dizzy somehow Anyway it is a great ride and I really appreciate all the work put into it!
-
Yes this has come up before and I remember people saying it's just a picture being used for a Topscan which is on sale, samurai itself isn't actually on sale! My guess is they are probably just using samurai's picture because the Topscan being sold is in a bad state

Ah I must look out for them! When is the next time they are doing the deal?

Must have cost a fortune ? Did you have some sort of wristband.I went down to a local fair today and went on a KMG booster which was great and was only £2.50 a go . Amazing local fair I must say including Wild Mouse Coaster, Body Count, Extreme, Booster, Super Bowl and more was very impressed as it was quite a cheap fair with very long cycles!
