  1. In short, I thought it was worth doing for the one off to experience it, but me being someone who is scared of mazes didn't find it scary, although the pressure of time did make me panic a bit, and in general it was a decent attraction, I'd feel a bit ripped off if I didn't make it to the last room though, as in theory you could run out of time in the first room after 5 minutes and then that's your experience over.
  2. Yeah I went on it about 8/9ish last night... And it's my favourite ride In the park, and would usually say the original nemesis is better too... But wow I'm not sure why or how it was running so well last night as it was my favourite ride on it ever! Shame about the mist though as I didn't see it working all weekend

It heard everyone slate it saying they wanted to get rid of it, and is having a hissy fit.... Actually no, all you haters would want that, it being closed longer gives more chance of it getting removed haha
  4. Noone knows I guess? Thorpe may have a criteria that once a certain amount are sold and it's in more demand then put the prices up, I honestly don't have a clue beyond that. Yesterday maze queues were minimal and moving VERY fast, even had walk on MBV, and saw said an hour queue and was only 15 minutes. Ride queues yesterday evening were 5-10minutes max. Saturday though, maze queues were in excess of 90minutes and all rides were over 30-60 minutes except the last half hour or so..
  5. It also depends on how many tickets have been sold / are left as far as I'm Aware... As last half term all tickets ended up at £49.99 and then they sold out every day... So leaving the prices at £29.99 suggests they're pretty quiet and desperate?
  6. If it wasn't for all the travellers on park yesterday afternoon/evening... The fright nights would have literally been a ghost town, it was that quiet! Didn't see too many problems with th travellers besides the above issues mentioned about throwing bottles and rubbish down from the top of depth charge while I was waiting for containment, and they just seem to gather round in massive groups blocking things up etc. Can't be too stereotypical as went through MBV in a group of 3 after a evac, it was me and my friend and a traveller and he was a good laugh aha!
  7. I had a behind the scenes tour of Big Top and Saw Alive yesterday. The Saw Alive one was very informative, Big Top was quite brief as I guess it's quite a basic maze and not a lot to say about it.... Got to hold the chainsaw though
  8. It wasn't an actual mirror maze with several dead ends due to throughput and health and safety with actors and people running away apparently...
  9. Oh wow! Had such a good run through today on Big Top, the lighting had changed a bit to make it more effective and the actors were so much better and used their surroundings better and our group was split up in the mirror maze so the actual big top tent was so much better and personal! My ratings today (yesterday)... Cabin In The Woods: 4/5 (5/5) Saw Alive: 3/5 (4/5) Big Top: 4/5 (2/5) MBV: 4/5 (4/5) Blair Witch: (3/5)

  11. And having now been on it myself... I can happily say it doesn't jolt and reached a great height easily, so was probably an issue with the motor and possibly replacing it? Something worth noting, when it went down for quite a while this year before it reopened and still juddered but the ride cycle seemed longer... Well this time the ride cycle seems short like before.
  12. I know the park is quieter today... But the queues are moving so quick for a maze at Thorpe it is crazy... Let's hope containment is good later, and big top doesn't keep having issues like yesterday. Today is s good day!
  13. With Slammer having been closed this weekend, and Samurai still closed... This afternoon Vortex has reopened!
  14. We've been told a scene in the big top is unfinished, awaiting props/parts to finish it which should be there by next weekend. My main issue is how much scaffolding there is, as how in the big top last tent they couldn't even cover the outside walls with black curtains and instead just left the scaffolding with yellow foam pads which ruined it so much in my opinion; and on my run through the actors just didn't seem to get it right and use the maze to the best potential, so hopefully it will continue to improve.I haven't done containment, but my friends have and said it was amazing with clues/links to WC16, I have my containment time slot booked for tomorrow so can't wait to check it out
  15. Really enjoyed Saw alive behind the scenes tour and found out some really interesting facts and gave me a new appreciation for the effort put into mazes... The big top behind the scene tour was decent but alongside previously watching the POV just looked disappointing to be honest which is real shame as the outside is amazing. In brief. (I have to give one max rating of 5 as I can't compare it properly otherwise) Big Top: 2/5 MBV/ 4/5 Cabin In The Woods: 5/5 Saw Alive: 4/5 Blair Witch: 3/5 Going back again tomorrow so will hopefully be able to do te mazes again and see if there's any difference as different run throughs can be so different! Lighting around the park is as usual... With stealth looking amazing!
  16. Lionsgates last year and won't be returning as mazes apparently (don't know about S'AW though).

The thing is why do people want rides to leave as Thorpe are unlikely to replace them so a pretty silly thing to say really. The ride isn't that bad, and any ride is better than no ride.
  18. The actual ride image is still there... They won't put it on the map in case it doesn't open, but it seems so obvious that they're trying to. Personally if it did reopen this year I don't think they would make a big deal about it or advertise it over social media etc.
  19. It is worth noting that on the fright nights map WC16 is advertised as the eye and it's breaking through a crack in the ground. Not sure if that has any relevance to earlier underground theories.
  20. If the lighting on the rides isn't any good... Then I'm going to be so annoyed! Get rid of the best maze... And then the redeeming factor of the park having the best night time lighting of the park in previous years...

Why would you say that, the ride is actually decent! Although I reckon when I go last day of season if it's open I might get on it last ride in case it does go aha!
  22. That would suggest it's not open and the actors are being put to use as they're being paid regardless of containment being open or not..
  23. I know they would want the investigation finished as soon as possible; but if they didn't have the intention of reopening it this year we may not be seeing all this work going on in open season, as the testing has made its way to the newspapers which otherwise they would have wanted to keep it completely in the dark and forgotten until next year.
  24. not sure if it has previously been mentioned, but any info regarding the smiler saying about closed for the foreseeable future on the banner on their website has now gone... and also I'm not sure what it said before but on the smiler ride page, all it says is this ride is currently closed.
