Well health and safety put the huge fences and netting there. It would seem that efteling are in a place with a little more relaxed rules, or they have something else that satisfies H&S.

There must have been a reason to become a public company. Why suddenly float on the stock exchange if you are not after a way to raise money. -

With all the budget cutting I would assume that Merlin does not have the money to buy it and run it if it were to go bankrupt. -

There is only so many times you can devalue an annual pass or open on one train when 2 is needed or have poor opening times. Merlin have been walking a fine line and it would seem they are starting to take that step too far. Merlin seem to work on a one step forward, two step back model which means they do still have fans (otherwise why would we all be here) but at the same time they do something stupid that angers the fans. I hope that PP play it differently however with the lack of experience they have I expect they will turn to the big names in the UK industry which would be Merlin. -

What I was trying to get at is that PP has the aim to build a new fan base where as merlin is just keeping theirs going (which isn't very hard as they are pretty much the only option). -
Its a step in the right direction but really there shouldn't be summer nights on top of it. If they are going to have it as a concert with a few rides open then that's fine but there shouldn't be 2 tickets for that. Personally I think they should have made it so day guests can go and there is an evening ticket which allows entry from 4 but if I'm honest I doubt we will ever see that happen. Thorpe's capacity is just too low.

With all the clearance windows of the trains the maximum drop you could have in that building would be around 7m (22ft). Not really a big drop, even if they could make it 10m it's still not exactly a big thrill. Any trick track would take up a lot of room as well. I know the building seems large but in reality it's quite small. I just don't see how a decent sfx coaster could fit in there.

They do state it in multiple locations (admittedly most being in the park) that you need to be able to walk short distances for most rides for evacuation purposes. If it did stop on a lift hill and they had to get you off it suddenly becomes a major problem. I can understand that they would be annoyed and that they should make it clear on their website rather than the ride entrance however to play the discrimination card is a bit extreme,

Merlin are not likely to be a small investor. Why would they invest in something that if it does well will eat their profits and why would they let Merlin invest in the first place. Despite paramount not owning the project they do have an image to maintain. So like Thorpe and lionsgate, there will be talks going on with what they can and can't do. LRCH will have the creative lead but paramount will provide an input to make sure it is up to standard. Currently the project doesn't have many big names of the industry in however that will change. When planning permission is approved I'm sure they will start head hunting for the best. They are spending a lot on this and I'm sure LRCH expect the very best. After all their aim is to make money. So they have to be good so people tell friends and they encourage people back. -
YouTube/ Google generally works on 55% split to the person. Larger youtubers normally get a much higher rate. A standard partner gets £1 per thousand views, zoe will get around £12 per thousand.

I do believe Colossus normally stalls on the final turn. As the corkscrews are slightly inclined downwards

B&M launched wing rider in the air car park is what I'm expecting. It may not be a worlds first but it would offer a very unique ride experience in the UK, and I'm sure the Merlin team can come up with some stupid worlds first tag line for it.
-
I would not call swarm unique or unpredictable. Nor would I call saw or the vampire those things either. I would also put air, thirteen, oblivion in that list but they were world firsts. Don't get me wrong, John was good but just because he designed it doesn't mean it will be amazing. Personally I'm more a Werner Stengel fan as nearly all of my top 10 favourite rides were his.
-
Personally I find millennium force the best ride I've been on. I just like the speed and the airtime. The first over banked turn also made me start to grey out so I wouldn't call it forceless. Anyway I guess that is my opinion. Going by POV I still don't see what makes shambhala so special.
-
They boxes with the crosses through them are disabled lifts. The preshow is simply a preshow. If you look there is definitely a set of stairs on the way in and on the way out.

Most rides in the UK I find to be overrated. Nemesis for example, yeah it's good but it's not the best. Same with the smiler and Colossus. This is why I haven't visited Europa or porta aventura as I get the impression that they are also overrated. I doubt shambhala can be that much better than nitro or come close to millennium force. Correct me if I am wrong but at the moment I'm struggling to justify a trip there.

The thing with the car park is a very regular occurrence. Also towards the end of the day swarm and stealth are almost always walk on (or a very short queue) as people do those rides first. People who visit less often go with the mind set of get everything done regardless the wait time. This often means saw and Colossus have lengthy queues towards the end of the day as they are towards the back of the park. Also its important to remember that the queuetimes from about 4pm onwards are nearly always a lie. Time and time again ive seen swarm say 40 minutes with someone selling fastrack at the entrance when its been walk on. I'm not saying they are lying on purpose but it does seem that they forget to update the times.
-
Its 100 more people per hour than the park was managing last year. Then again I value this attraction at absolutely nothing. I wouldn't even wait if the queue was 0 minutes as it still takes away 5 minutes of my day I could have used else where. I can always find a breezy hill else where. The throughput on this is shocking and the amount it must cost to run must be quite high because of all the actors. I would have preferred the money to be spent on some paint around the park.
-
Its called no limits 2. Takes absolutely ages to get anything done on it and it isn't the most user friendly program in the world but it is fun if you have plenty of time. I do believe it is on steam if you are interested.
-
Universal is not paramount. Also even with that any competition leads to improvements as they need to find ways to be better than the other park.

I got bored so I decided to see if I could improve The Swarm
-
Great thanks, I was making an improved version of the swarm and wanted the dispatch time to be the same as the real thing to see if I improved the throughput or not.
-
Does anyone know the time it takes to dispatch a train to achieve the maximum throughput. It would be really useful to me if someone does know, so thanks in advance.
-
Sorry should have made it clear that I was referring to the UK as a place for a day trip.

On crowd calendar you have spelt Thursday "Tursday". Just something you may want to fix.
