Having checked it is against the law to call this as sale regardless of the T&C's. They must state the old price and the new reduced one they cant state the new price of what its going to be. Anyone which has purchased a renewal has full rights to take legal action. DFS had the same problem last year. If they started the sale on Jan 1st then there is a regulation which sometimes lets them do it. However this has no exception clause. It is misselling.

Odd sale they have there when the renewal price has gone up by £30. I thought that was against trading standard regulations. I always thought you had to sell something for 6 weeks at the new price before you can lower it and call it a sale. I guess they must have some clause in there terms and conditions. Still to call it a sale when the price has gone up is in no way ok. Its misleading and dishonest. Believe it or not I am actually trying to not bash merlin at every opportunity however that is not on. I could have renewed my pass yesterday for full price for less than it is in this "sale". Trading Standard regulations section 18: to claim that products are on sale, you should show the previous price and should have been selling at that price for a meaningful period of time

Yet another pass that shouldnt exist. I'm sure they will find new ways of devaluing the standard thorpe pass instead of making the premium better. If a VIP pass comes along then any remaining hope I had in them will die. VIP passes are bad enough as it is we dont need another 1000 just for thorpe.

There a company that operates theme parks and coasters featured for less than 4 seconds. Not making much sense to me, surley you advertise your best asset. Apart from that the advert seems pretty average.

It would have been general maintenance which required part of the frame to be dismantled. They cant go upgrading storm surge, it could devalue my award.

It is indeed an insane move from the park and in reality its just to limit the numbers going. They could have raised the price for normal guests but that could have resulted in more complaints so they have decided to put off a different group of people and the ones that do decided to go will be less likley to complain as they can just return for free later. Logical move from the park but one that I and others disagree with.

I'm sure john would be willing to point you in the right direction and help you out. There is a video somewhere where he talks about the development of CWOA and the effect that had on the industry. Who better to get a clip from than the creator.

I prefer the history and development idea. Certainly more jolly and as stated the parks will be much more willing to discuss their own history. Also you could have interviews on how past investments and developments have had an effect on the fans. Afterall no nemesis could mean no alton towers. Lots to go into with the history.

An extra £50 wow that went up a bit. I was basing it off my last upgrade price of £20. I know they have to make premium more attractive but I feel there are better ways of doing it. Exclusive ride openings for an hour or two after the park closes. Hint Hint merlin.

We should have seen the copyright thing for the name by now registered under merlin entertainments. That will be why we don't have a name. Its down to them being slow on the patent (or copyright thing, I'm not sure which one it is). Or we may never see the patent if merlin already hold the rights to the name they want. The fear of it being called oblivion is way too high.

Yes I am. Ever since it became a multiple tier system, ive hated them for it as its resulted in the park becoming worse. I used to pay for passes before that but year on year they raise the price and you get less and less for the pass. I will admit that a lot of the hate I throw at them is exaggerated however when it comes to devaluing the passes it really does annoy me, even if I haven't paid for one.

I'm only intending on visting the park once more so I can use up my priority passes. Will not be buying lunch, I got my MAP from tesco vouchers last year, I'm not driving there and I wont be buying any drinks. Also my other reason for going is I dont want my last time at the park to be as bad as my final visit this year. I know it may sound odd that I'm refusing to visit but want to go one more time but its becuase I like the rides there and have been going for so many years. But in recent years the parks management has been in a nose dive and I'm fed up with them.

I refuse to visit them anymore. They dont value their customers, they just squeeze as much money out of them as possible. They add charges so you either pay them each time you visit or just pay an upgrade fee so the charges go away. I sent a complaint to them 21 days ago with still no reply so I'm assuming I'm never getting one. Ive had enough of them. The only reason I will ever visit them again is so I can ride stealth and I will carry out that trip so merlin dont see a single penny.

They have confirmed that the line up is swarm, stealth and angry birds land with more... So far there is still nothing that indicates this is an event and the £5 charge is still insulting.

Monday's on average are the 3rd quitest day of the week (over the months sept to nov). However they can be annoying with 1 train operation also it will be march so cold and rather empty no matter what day you go.

Dive machines always seem wasted in my opinion. They used the smaller model for cost but the track is as if it was the full sized. They are always so sort and have very little to them.

Less than half full or half empty? Ive never been to alton feb half term, its too far to go for just a few rides. It will be interesting to see if swarm and stealth open on 2 trains or just 1. If its 1 then the whole "event" could end up being pretty pointless as I doubt rush or slammer will be opening.

Arh ok the people I was asking have lied to me. Although air does have 3 trains...

They wouldn't be allowed to operate without full checks. Limited capacity is referring to the fact only a few rides is open but they keep saying very limited. Which raises questions of if that means 1 train op. Apparently Alton run 1 train op during feb half term so I would imagine thorpe are going to do the same.
