  1. The greenbelt isn't what everyone now believes it is. The greenbelt was outlined as a place for expansion and over time that has become a place to keep the environment how it was. I'm sure with enough money merlin can expand into the fury car park.
  2. I take theme parks very seriously. Any problem no matter how big or small is not acceptable. A 15 minute queue is not acceptable when it was originally advertised as no queues. I guess they did rectify the problem by changing it to minimal queues.
  3. True but ive been to a sold out one and it wasn't what I was expecting compared to the other ones. Stealth and swarm were both 15 minutes, and that is 15 minutes too long. Much preferred the ability to just stay on stealth 10 times in a row.
  4. Some people like me can only visit at weekends. RnR needs to be either a replacement for fastrack or removed completely. Evidently their servers are still not up to standard neither are the wifi spots. The dynamics it has on the park ruin it. If you queue normally its a new league of slow and makes guests queuing quite angry. Its easy to be abused and the park isn't set up for its use. A whole new queue line is needed if they want it to be free and that isn't possible. Also people get annoyed when you have a 3 hour virtual wait for saw to find that when you get there its a 40 minute wait. You may as well scrap the system and have an hour queue but that is far too simple for thorpe to consider because all they want you to do is spend more in shops.
  5. I'm asuming that it will get the full 500 people so it may be a little busy than expected.
  6. RnR stopped at about 1 as it all crashed so my day wasn't entirely ruined.
  7. Well its nice to see they are editing the percentages because Saturday the RnR times got way out of hand. waiting 3 hours virtually to then be expected to queue for 40 minutes which was probably longer than the main queue annoyed me a lot. The VIP pass holders were even more annoyed to be expected to wait 40 minutes.
  8. yeah they are, they are replying to my criticism though so ill let them off slightly. Its probably there only positive feedback so they are trying to draw attention to it.
  9. Reserve and ride is highly likely to exceed the main queue. Thats because of the dynamics of the system, most people who are waiting virtually will want to do non coaster rides and do coasters via reserve and ride. Which leads to flats doing loads they cant cope with and coasters having a lack of people for what people are willing to wait. They can try as much as they like to get this system to work, but it wont. they can pour as much money as they like into it but at the end of the day it would be cheaper to install more high capacity rides. Also meant to put Saturday in my earlier post, I forgot today is Monday.
  10. It did happen, but RnR isn't walk on, its wait 3 hours virtually so you can join a queue of 20-40 minutes. As all of the RnR guests use the fastrack queue anyone with a fastrack is basically paying for a longer wait. And also denied access to the queues once the RnR becomes full which is about 4:30pm for a 6pm closing. So not only does RnR annoy people in the main queue it also annoys people who have paid extra to "reduce" their waiting.
  11. The group I was with on Saturday most of them had VIP passes and they were not happy to say the least. The queue they were in was way beyond 40 minute sand by no means can that be called fast. The people in guest services certainty heard what they had to say. Rule one in business is not annoy your best customers and that is exactly what they have done. If someone pays £500 to get in I would expect them to be treated very well instead of being forced to queue for 40 minutes because they have a system which will never work.
  12. Teething problems is an understatement. They need to ditch it once and for all. Ive had enough of reserve and ride, ive been suffering it all day all of Friday and 2 last year. It is the worst thing to meet any park in all of history. I would actually prefer q-bots.
  13. I didn't mean the proper enthusiasts I more meant the people that will visit about 4 times a year which call themselves enthusiasts. The people which visit 15+ times a year will never buy a fastrack but they will end up spending a lot on drinks and food.
  14. Maybe thorpe would be better off if they listened to the enthusiasts. I'm sure a fair few of them will know how the general public actually feel and will be able to identify problems which maybe thorpe have not. yes the enthusiasts will over exaggerate but there the ones which will keep coming back and most likely end up spending the most in their shops and on fastracks per head per year.
  15. how come rita's is so low, is it operation or are the accumulator's not as good as they once were.
  16. well I gave up on respecting Thorpe's media when they said they got good feedback on reserve and ride. Funny they say SRQ was abused when they have just created a system which is the easiest thing to abuse in all of history.
  17. Ive always visited during scarefest so it may be that ive only seen oblivion when the teams are trying to be efficient. Rita is a pile of scrap so the fact it gets any throughput is amazing and yes I meant dispatching in 45 seconds from arriving in the station.
  18. it needs a bit of a re-theme its looking very worn down now. Doubt they will re-theme it though as there supposed to be getting a new flat next year.
  19. Yeah that would make sense if it was April, as we were there in April half term. When they were doing it was amazingly efficient. Odd that they didn't manage the all time record because I was there in the full hour they were doing it (it was quick moving and relatively short wait) and it didn't seem to have any train with a delay. I quess it shows how a 5 second wait every now and then builds up.
  20. Stealths record was set a few weeks ago and they did that by sending a train every 45 seconds for an hour. There was not a single train which had a delay that exceeded 10 seconds and it worked like a military operation. It must have been hitting about 1100-1200 people per hour. The staff did announce that they had beaten the theoretical throughput and the Thorpe record so they were a very good team. In fact if you ever see the ride operator called adam he is amazing efficient and good at organising his team. Ive seen him beat the throughput record on multiple rides. Oblivions throughput is 1900 but it wont be achieving that so it will be around 1500 on a bad day so to claim no ride in the UK gets near is a bit of an odd statement. Also Rita is the worst throughput of any coaster at Alton (not including the RMT and sonic as I don't count them as coasters more hyped up park bench's) so claiming it can achieve 1100 is also very odd. It barley scrapes 900pph.
  21. They would have stopped it for more than one reason. However the saw queue jumping was a constant one.
  22. Saws fastrack has a gate which merges it with the main queue, however for single riders the gate switched to force people up the single rider queue, but the second they made it up the first flight of stairs they just ducked under the railing. Back when the single rider queues were in use Thorpe wasn't so busy and didn't always have enough staff to have someone allocate people to bays and then add single riders. So they removed them to save money.
  23. The way it was abused was mainly on saw where groups of people would use the single rider queue and jump under the fence and join the main queue. So they were just cutting a 2 hour queue. The real reason was that on off peak days they had to employ an extra person which they don't really need.
  24. They were playing the main theme on my last few visits. The monkey sound effect has always been there, its just in the background. Its probably that the forgot to turn on the music.
  25. They will both become RCM. Six flags have gone RCM mad.
