Visited Thorpe Park today and I was really impressed. Did all the main rides, but didn't really like Nemesis as I felt very nauseous after it. Slammer was tested but didn't open. Queues were REALLY short, the longest being 20 minutes. The only ride I knew about being down was Loggers Leap when I was in the 'queue.' Saw x1 Stealth x2 Nemesis Inferno x1 Swarm x1 Colossus x1 Storm Surge x3 Loggers Leap x1 Depth Charge x1 Flying Fish x2 Detonator x1 Vortex x1 Rumba Rapids x2 Maximum queues throughout the day: Saw - 15 minutes Stealth - 5 minutes Nemesis Inferno - 15 minutes Swarm - 15 minutes Colossus - 20 minutes Rumba Rapids - 0 minutes Storm Surge - 20 minutes Loggers Leap - 0 minutes Depth Charge - 10 minutes Flying Fish - 5 minutes Detonator - 10 minutes Vortex - 5 minutes X - 10 minutes Tidal wave - 0 minutes Rush - 15 minutes Samurai - 20 minutes Teacups - 0 minutes .

Had an amazing trip to Efteling last weekend. Definitively going to this ride first on Sunday as it looks like its been kept in fairly good condition. Does anyone know how busy it might be on Sunday, because like most people I know are saying they're going!?

I don't know why they haven't sorted this out over closed season. How bad were the SAW queues, because I'm looking at going on that one first next Sunday?

How long were the queues for the main rides when you went Coaster Jamie?

When lot's of people have been saying in their reports for Thorpe Park in the last few days: Saw is as bad as it was last season. Saw was really bad. why is that?

I might be going on the 30th which is a Sunday. How busy may that be?

Hi, I'm looking to go to Thorpe Park on the opening Saturday which I think is the 22nd. Does anyone know how busy it will be? I know it's the start of season and will be busy, but can anyone estimate rough queue times for some of the rides so I know what to expect? Thanks I'm looking forward to it and hopefully it will be a good day.

Ok fair enough Coaster Jamie I do see where you are coming from. IMO the rest of the park should be dealt with first before the rattlesnake as I still think it adds a bit to the theming of the ride even if ts really knackered.

Does it really look knackered?! I really think it adds to the effect and theming of the ride, but maybe that's the right thing to do. If Chessington decide to do that, I don't think ts going to be the highest priority.

Sounds like it has excellent theming and I think it's a job well done.

I'd like to see some work done on Vortex, because I think it's a good little ride and has a lot of potential. It should really be marked quite high in priority. It has dropped down a quite a lot my view, which is why they need to put a lot of attention over it in closed season.

Personally I'm really not sure whether I want to see Runaway Train changed into a scorpion theme, as I liked it the way it was. It could be good though if they pull it off just right. Dragons Falls is becoming a bit old and grotty - I think it should be improved next season otherwise it is a bad mistake from Chessington. Yet I agree it probably won't be any different in 2014.

I agree, I think they could easily change the theming of the ride, but if they mess it up it will be really disappointing as it is a fun, and enjoyable ride. Personally I like the way it was before, coloured track and red supports basically changes the whole ride in my opinion. ( A runaway mine train, to a bright scorpion. ) They might as well make it a completely different ride!

That is true, I haven't ridden Valhalla at Blackpool pleasure beach, but heard it is good.

I honestly love Tidal Wave because it is simply one of the best and wettest rides ever! I also find the queues are normally at 0 minutes which is an extra. I wish Chessington could do a ride like that, even though they have no money!

Thanks for telling me - I knew it was a zoo day, but I didn't know that NONE of the rides would be open, which is a bit disappointing . It will now probably be a very short trip!!!

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and I wanted to start by asking a quick question about the trip I am planning to Chessington on the 14th of December. I have been to the park once before during the summer time and it has been really busy - should I do expecting this for my trip in December, or is it going to be much quieter? Also, it would be useful to know which rides to do first, queue times expected, and places to eat. I hope it's going to be a great trip! Thanks!!
