Personal Prediction for this year: Big Top will make a return, very bad choice removing it last year so I think they have learned there lesson. SAW Alive is 100% gone and likely won't be replaced, probably just sit abandoned (now sinking) as Thorpe have a habit of abandoning attractions ? Dead Creek Woods is gone and will be replaced with a extended Blair Witch maze/walk. Platform 15 will very likely return, even though personally I think it's time to replace it with something new in the same location. Living Nightmare obviously returning, no questions asked. A second Walking Dead attraction (Sanctum PT. 3?) Jungle Escape maybe being used for a maze, Vulcan Peak PT. 2 but you know...actually good with effort put into it. Containment with some few minor adjustments..doesn't bother me much. Angry Bird 4D theatre likely used for horror shorts or something similar. In total I reckon about 5 mazes max...6 at a push. Would be nice to see some new mazes but I think we would be lucky to get one new atleast. Would love to see more wondering actors around the park and a scare zone would be great too but I don't have high hopes for that! Personally I would love something like a Lionsgate contract to return as for me that was FN at it's best however with the walking dead deal signed not that long ago I don't see this happening anytime soon. Fingers crossed we see some improvements this year and it's not an absolute shambles!

TPM Fright Nights Meet Saturday 13th Oct 2018
Ben Mower replied to Mattgwise's topic in TPM 2018 Meets
Same for me! I usually only ever go to the park 2 times a year, one of those being for FN. 4 times in total for me this year is a first and pretty much a miracle! ?- 57 replies

I always look forward to Fright Nights every year and love the event however this year with all the rumours and by the looks of the direction the event is heading in I feel no hype what so ever. If The Big Top does not return (please god no) then Thorpe have a really made a bad mistake. In my honest opinion who's smart idea was it to remove a fantastic themed indoor maze which was one of the best last year and replace it with a old returning outdoor walk through when there is already one of those (Platform 15) plus Sanctum. It just makes no sense, it's not even a new attraction it's a 'returning' attraction and probably the weakest out of all the Lionsgate mazes in my opinion. If Big Top is going I would much prefer to see a NEW maze in it's place. The way the current rumours stand it seems only 2 mazes could be indoors this year with the remainder outside which is pretty crappy. Obviously all is rumours until Thorpe announce anything but the way it is currently looking all I can say is Thorpe really need to pull there finger out as this is looking like the end of Fright Nights, it feels the passion has gone and they just don't care anymore, just all about making that money. I'm already tired of all this Walking Dead stuff and it's not even October! Just waiting for all this to hopefully blow over, at the moment I'm 50/50 about attending the event at all. Fingers crossed the rumours could be wrong (unlikely I know).

I recently emailed Thorpe VIP regarding Face It Alone and The Backstage Tours, Really disappointed that Face It Alone is now confirmed to not be returning for the foreseeable future It was a great 4 years while it lasted filled with lots of memories and I am happy to say I was part of it! Regarding Backstage Tours they will be up on sale on the website soon!

Jigsaw's Victims from last Sunday's (9th Oct) Face It Alone! (Me In the back with tape round my mouth)

Spinning tunnel hasn't been active for few years now, I remember they mentioned about 2 years back in a backstage tour that the reason it is out is because it was using to much power and kept cutting everything else in the maze out. It is basically too much money to remove it from the building so now it just sits there broken which sucks.

I just replied to your message about last years experience

Face It Alone in Saw last year was just a whole another level like it was just extreme and lasted for what seemed to be forever, Its a shame this year it was tonned down but also there was less actors and the experience was alot shorter. It was still good though but not the best...I secretly wanted Platform 15 or Big Top as done Cabin in 2014

Rode for the first time yesterday and I was sightly disappointed. At times I wasn't even sure if my headset was working but it was just part of the ride, the evacuation scene was done really well as actors made it seem like we were actually being evacuated but that weird tunnel scene made no sense as no one (Including me) really understand what the hell was happening and was just running around. The 2nd part seemed pretty blank to be honest with no much happening, the only thing that got me was how the train actually moved location making me think how the hell they do that. For me though all the hype didn't live up to what I thought it would be.

Went for Fright Nights yesterday, only managed to do one run through of all the mazes (excluding Platform 15 in the evening) this was mainly down to long waiting times and attractions breaking down. Did a backstage tour of Platform 15 & Big Top and it is amazing to see how much they changed it this year theming and actors wise, best maze of the year for me considering I fell to the floor after being tickled by a clown. Did Saw Alive for Face It Alone it was very messy but not as extreme as last year (where I also did Saw) as staff said they had to tone it down due to complaints or something. Saw romaing actors once and that was for the Face It Alone ceremony thing. No Experiment 10 actors as far as I'm aware though. Overall was a good day but I feel it wasn't as great as last year with organisation wise.

Got to see the shop for the first in person yesterday and it looks amazing! Really am impressed with the amount of themeing put into it and the atmosphere it gives, all my mates said how good it looks and how well themed it is so hats off to Merlin on that! Just a shame it was delayed opening.

X was absolutely terrible yesterday :/ Went on for the first go around 11ish and the music in the queue was pretty quiet and not that loud but when the ride actually begun it was even worst! You literally couldn't hear anything it sound like the volume was on 1 :/ Very disappointing and made me look like a mug in front my mates as I said how much of a good ride it is with the music. I thought maybe cause its early that why it might be quiet but well I was wrong! Went in again around 3 and the queue music was abit louder not by much and the music in the ride itself was turned up by like 2 percent so still pretty quiet and disappointing. Iv heard it louder during Fright Nights so that's saying something lol For the new playlist and announcements I'm not really a big fan of it,I feel the new playlist aint really mixed that well and doesn't contain as much songs as last year If they kept last years playlist and added on to it with some new songs and had it mixed well it would sound amazing! For the announcements I just feel they ruin the experience of the ride, like the way they randomly cut into the music ruins the atmosphere for the ride. I'm happy the announcements actually sound alright and not tacky but still X would be better without them in my opinion. Well enough with the hating and some positive stuff lol I love how they have put the vinyl around the attraction and new X's on the walls its nice to see it updated a little!

The wolf head in CITW is meant to be back to squirting water and blowing air this weekend as the sensor is meant to be fitted today I believe aswell as the tunnel is meant to have some work done today and this week to try fix it. (Source - Maze Manager from Behind The Scenes Tour On Saturday)
-
Guessing CITW was closed because they might of been fixing the tunnel or something like that

Don't forgot the directors other great quote which is...'Your Absolutely F**ked.'

Was there yesterday, had backstage tours of My Bloody Valentine, Cabin In The Woods & Studio 13! Its a shame that some of the props in studio 13 mainly dolls are too low lit so you cant see them when the maze is in operation. I was disappointed on the amount of actors working last night because there seemed to be very few in all mazes and none in the queue lines what so ever! MBV shut down at one point and paramedics went in no idea what actually happened but shortly re opened. I think Blair witch got me the most with jump scares and the new soundtrack playing is okay (I cant judge as didn't do it last year). Studio 13 actors were lively considering I had one of them put me in a corner and out an axe to my throat and have another one join in until they told me to run to catch up with my group then be chased out at the end. MBV had hardly any actors to be honest same with Saw. CITW I was expecting more actors but after doing it as face it alone that made up for it. All I can say is face it alone is worth the money and a must do! Also found the secret exit of CITW that leads to X queue line!

I have worked as a scare actor at London Tombs so I can honestly say the more scared you are the more you will terrorised, Why? because its fun that's why and if someones scared you know your doing your job, even though you get the d**ks who try to act the big man in front of there mates so trying not to act scared and swear at you including calling you names like the c word which has happened to me and iv been told that's them being nice. You just take it on the chin and carry on scaring people who are actually enjoying it. But yes if someone do look like there about to die of a panic attack do not scare them leave them be or in more seriously cases which I had to deal with once. Keep them back let the group go then break character and quickly evacuate them.

It cant be as there calling it the 'Jungle Jive Stage' I have been informed that the original plan was in talks last year was to turn the entire jungle jive area into a performance area so half the Archelon ride area would host the stage and a seating stand would be constructed in front of the café. The plan was to attract big names not X factor people. Could always be a test this year to see how well it goes for next year.

They defiantly turn the volume down in X once the mazes are opened. I was on a tour of Cabin In The Woods last year in the afternoon and while walking round you could hear the music from X (mainly the bass) but when I went in Cabin In The Woods once they opened you couldn't hear X at all.

Big Saturday Nights Out starts tonight down AI and there saying the stage is now at Jungle Jive Café and the best seats are by wristband only. Do anybody know if they have setup a new stage or something and if its inside or out? Really confusing as they say you can still see it away from the main area...
