  1. But at least back then it was actually running on a half decent setting...
  2. With the amount of problems samurai has, I wonder how many of the parts are original....
  3. That's why its moat likely that it will be removed at the end of the season, and the thing is when it does reopen it will probably be running at an even lower setting then it was before it broke again....
  4. It would definitely improve rumba as the only theming looks really old....
  5. It would really be beneficial for staff and guests if the Colossus restraints raised by themselves like Stealth's, but that would never be added unless they bought new trains and changed a bit of the electrical systems, but even changing the trains to new models would make the difference on its own as the restraints are much lighter. And with the system it is really annoying that all the bars have to be raised unless they have been locked down, so actually a few software changes could make the life of differences and while they are at that they could finish painting the ride! But this is Merlin we are talking about here and they wont do anything unless it is massively below standards that the park has to meet....
  6. Although its understandable why the queue was shortened as it never was that busy, it ruins the feel of the ride now and the walkway really got you feeling the general theme and now it looks a bit rubbish just having an empty walkway that no one uses on top of all the buildings in the area.
  7. Please stand clear the gates are about to close ypu ride on Colossus is about to begin, please keep your arms inside the train ,your feet on the floor and brace yourself at all times. Once again, your ride on Colossus is about to begin, please keep your arms inside the train, your feet on the floor and brace yourself at all times.

    Slammer

If I remember correctly, S&S or Thorpe said something ages ago about how to do more spins, the motors would have to be changed and new electronics fitted, it would be a lot more prone to break downs, would have more problems with levelling and its throughput would be a lot worse and at the moment the ride only does one cycle about every 6 or 7 minutes.
  9. The thing is the situation is quite similar across English merlin parks as quite a few of the older flats are coming to the end of their lifecycles and not including Wild Hog Dodgems, we haven't seen any flat rides since Rush and Slammer. There is no point in Thorpe just going and a buying a ride with a short life cycle and is very common, they need to design a new flat ride concept like that of Rush or even just change an already existing model such as Slammer. But if over the next few years we don't receive any new flats, the park will begin to come bare, same with Alton and CWOA as none of the parks have any brand new completely unique flat rides anymore.
  10. Most of the time when its been on one train lately, you just see the other one sitting in the workshop with no engineers even in there, suggesting that they just don't have enough engineers to run multiple trains and that they choose which days are going to be run at both train capacity and if they get it wrong they don't add another train. As well as this, this year, Colossus pretty much always starts on one train and a second one is brought out about an hour and a half later, again showing that they don't have enough engineers or they are not bringing them in earlier enough because each train takes an hour and a half to sign off for use each morning.
  11. The thing is the Top Scan isn't designed to take the stresses of a theme park, its designed for more travelling fairs so the same thing will happen again, it beginning on a good high setting and gradually getting worse and worse till it goes....
  12. Probably either a fault on that brake run, the final brake run or a block section issue which seems to happen quite frequently nowadays.
  13. The way Samurai has been closed for quite a while now, seems as if it isn't going to be repaired again and even if it was you wouldn't miss much because the cycle nowadays is so slow and short, much better last year and hasn't been the same since it closed in fright nights, most likely now going to be scrapped at the end of the season and I reckon it will not be replaced.

As of lately, when I have been held on the final brake run before unloading, I have noticed a load of smoke around the floor towards the centre, could just be a smoke machine but it might have some relevance to the ride itself as the brakes of the block before that seem to be really sharp and quite squeaky at times, and seem as if they will need to be replaced soon as it makes that area considerably rougher then the rest of the ride, but this is merlin were talking about so unless it becomes properly dangerous nothing will be done...
  15. The thing is, RnR works much better on the newer rides that where it joins right near the front but the main problem is on Colossus and Nemesis Inferno when you enter with the fast pass queue which is quite far back. Its even worse for Colossus when it is on one train and basically makes it the same as the normal queue.
  16. The queue itself isn't that full yet it is only running at 5 trains and has checks on the block section before the final inversion every other hour. As well as this, none of the interior purple lighting is on, instead being pitched black. Finally when it was testing it has only had one train outside, one in the interior and three in the station its being run slowly during testing, taking a minute up the lift and nearly stalling in multiple places, yet the ride with people is similar to before but with more braking force n locations and brakes that didn't kick in before being activated.
  17. With this new paint on just one of the four rolls, it looks odd and shows just how old the ret of the paint is but already this seems to have had quite a lot of wear. As well as this new paint, in the queue line in three points there are now little, hopefully temporary, wooden ramps which go over a drainage pipe from the water beneath the vertical loop to the construction site and they really stand out and look odd.
