Definitely annoying especially with inferno with no outdoor music and the inside dispatch audio cutting out often with iac then playing....
-
Yes but a slow dispatch could disrupt the whole ride and mess up the timings and then ruin the illusion.
-
Construction has completely stopped as heavy rain has flooded the site, so at this moment I is being drained and other places have been effected as well...
-
What I said about vampire they were doing on inferno earlier, and stealth has had its second train on the transfer track all day and has been closed since about 1 with four engineers on it, swarm opened late and keeps breaking down with row 3 locked off on both trains and rush on the swing which doesn't reach 90 degrees but is actually passing it today (right swing I looking from tidal wave).

I agree just as long as it is properly themed, no fairground lights definitely, and it is an upgrade, meaning the cycle is better but its lifetime will be better with higher reliability then the current model.

Recently the operations have improved at Thorpe and fast pass seems to be better now but when I went to cwoa their operations were twice as bad with a sign out front saying tomb blaster, rattlesnake, monkey swinger and safari skyway will not open, bubbleworks broke every 30 mins, dragons fury opened 3 hours late and closed early and then Vampire said it had a 70 min queue, go in its on two trains not going back far in the queue so should be twenty mins or so, when I get in the station they are running a normal train and the other is for ultimate fast-track because they had most likely been oversold massively.... That on Vampire was just ridiculous

New for 2016 - Park-Wide Improvements
Matt10 replied to MarkC's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
By adding even more metal barriers obviously.... -
15 August (Sat) Rides: (RnR) Stealth x3 (RnR)Nemesis Inferno x2 (RnR)Saw The Ride x2 (RnR)The Swarm x2 (RnR)Colossus x1 IAC x1 Mr Monkeys Banana Boat x1 Rumba Rapids x2 Storm in a Teacup x1 Dodgems x1 Detonator x1 Tidal Wave x1 Flying Fish x1 X x2 Quantum x2 Vortex x1 Zodiac x1 Rush x1 Loggers Leap x2 Slammer x2 Pros: -Got 10 rides from RnR -Good Throughputs and capacity generally -Despite bad reliability on rides, the park operations were good on tides such as loggers leap which at about 1:30 dye to flooding and had more problems later on. -The park had a few minor improvements in places. -Nearly got on every ride that was open. -Staff being really pleasant and nice and helpful, especially the guy on RnR on Colossus before normal park close. Cons: -Colossus on one train, wouldn't normally mind this but this year it was like it for a few months and has gone back, whereas last year it was mainly two trains, meaning that about half an hour before park close you could stay on. -The park hours seem a lot less then last year. - Losing my phone on X and have to collect it from lost and found as my zipped pocket broke without me noticing and my phone ended up in the bottom of the train which led to me missing an RnR on Nemesis Inferno. -Colossus looks like a complete mess with the new and old paint mixed together. -Samurai completely dead looking like its going to be leaving. -Nemesis Inferno Misters not working and IAC audio playing in the station about 10 seconds before dispatch. -Reliability of the rides as many broke down and big rides failed to open on time.

The likelihood is that they are changing/ improving the cyclone as when I had a run through the other day just because it was quiet and I was there, there seems to have been a pot of changes, now you have one guide for the whole thing, after the question thing, which now you only have one question, there are multiple routes which the host will choose one and there were a few more trials and the idea of the stars was properly carried through, but in the house they had improvised a bit telling you to run through the corridor fast or something like that but the cyclone had a load of plywood up in front of it and I could hear people hammering behind, so sounds like improvements to me.

Just thought to mention the misters seem to be off on Nemesis Inferno again...
-
Saying that the park is getting busier I have noticed that Alton have began to run tv ads again...

Underneath the latter of the outside area of saw, there are a load of water pumps connected to loggers leap suggesting there are water pressure issues or a system failure, or the tunnel area and surrounding bit may have flooded as in these areas the water level beside the trough was high in the tunnel and after there was a lot more water on the land then usual after the tunnel, which could mean the actual ride itself has flooded or a pipe was/is broken that is used to fill up the trough after the first drop or take water from before the hill.
-
I went on the Saturday and through the day they were taking up a load of the flooring and doing stuff in the control room when loggers leap was working, so not for long.
-
Stealth is back on two trains, train 1 and train 3.
-
Does anyone know what exactly happens at Thorpe when there is a thunder and lightning storm with operations and which rides may stay open and if it is scheduled for near enough the whole day will the park open?
-
Apart from the fact I will be heavily delayed again most likely....
-
They just keep running it every time that's happened to me because I guess it gives them more feedback on the system and certain situations...
-
The thing is though Slammer is the last of its type and over the last few months round samurai I have heard a lot of people saying that it seems slower then before or that it seems slow and short but the only good things I have heard people saying about it is about the fact that it is loading quickly....
-
They put it down in that position over the winter quite a lot to do a full over inspection, if the signs go down and the floor starts to be taken up that's when we will be able to be certain of its fate.
-
Slammer they plan to open late as there isn't enough demand early on for them to be able to easily balance it and although a picnic area would be good, what Thorpe really needs is done more filler rides if they do remove it they could even replace it with the carousel if they still had it in storage and just repaint it and all....
-
The only good things about the current system on it is that a lockdown of a car is literally a press of a button that's below the jutty-out gold bit that you step on getting in and out of the train (don't know the name of it).
-
Never got to see it at ches but for me it was what made me enjoy flats and actually go on them, I like it but it should just be binned, its always broke and the cycle running on it is horrifically short, slow and the opposite of intense which it was designed to be. I find that now your lucky if your pod tilts gully over once nowadays.....
-
If your complaining about It changing in the queue, you could implement the signs like the ones on stealth that say the average wait time for this point, and you could just use the same method and make them electric to create a time from that point, but that really isn't necessary... And mist parks probably haven't done it due to money, not being able to work out the finer details of implementing it or there is a major upkeep issue and if the system messes up, they may not have a back up....
