  1. Why do you always moan at Jamie? It's pretty pathetic. It's like you pick on him for no reason other than the fact that he's Coaster Jamie. You're having a go at him for stating that rides are closed. Yes, we know that they are closed but what is he doing that merits members having a go at him? Thank you Jamie, for simply informing us about which rides were closed today. You did not need to take your time to provide us with valued information, however you did. So thank you.
  2. I am very happy that finally more details are being released. It's these finishing touches that could make the ride incredible... and they are keeping my hype alive! Well done Thorpe!
  3. I'm going to be very negative on this one - as I don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't open by my visit on the 14th. Saying this, a bit of me, somewhere, thinks that it could be open.

    Robotics. Daydreaming or nightdreaming?
  5. You clearly haven't been to Biggleswade.

I agree. A modern layout deserves a modern logo. I'll see what I can russell up!
  7. What's your coaster count @Benin? Back on topic. I'd love to go to Europa Park and I plan on combining EP with HP and Phantasialand on a trip to Germany when I'm 18. I may try and include Hansa or Holiday Park too.
  8. It's been more than weeks. Fancy starting a bring back Jart petition anyone? I'm not too annoyed that it's been delayed. While it's frustrating, in the long term, it really won't matter. Just be thankful that Thorpe Park is getting the high budget dark ride that most of us have always wanted (even if it does open late). Anyway, as long as it doesn't open as late as Lightning Rod I'm happy!

Run down old rides because I hate IPs. Fiction or Non Fiction books?
  10. In my head, I always see Thorpe Park getting a B&M dive coaster that's more unique than those that go straight from a drop into an Immelman into the MCBR. I always imagine something more similar to Krake or Oblivion: The Black Hole. Finally, Hypers are expensive and isn't there a maximum length of coasters at Thorpe Park which would mean that it would be a short hyper?

Vans. The new TPM layout or the old one?

I've also end up reporting everything because I touch a post. So sorry if I've reported you, it was unintentional.

I like it. It's clean, fresh, simple and modern. Not the most practical but you can't have it all! And after 10Hrs, I've finally figured out how to post.
  14. Yup. They're heartline rolls by the way. Left - inline twist. Right - heartline roll
  15. For me it's the back right. Super intense and the first drop is insane as you slowly drop. For near misses I'd take back left but for me back right provides a great moment on the low banked curve where you practically hit the water. Either way, back row is the best.
  16. We don't know that there's 12 monsters. Just 12 possible routes with 2 possible destinations. In fact, I doubt their will be 12 monsters.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Again, I'm going to be pessimistic because I really want this to be an RMC but I don't want to be dissapointed. Saying this, I'd be happy with a GCI or a mega-lite type ride. #RMCforSW8!

For example.. Piraten! I'd like to hope it self duels in a möbius loop like Twisted Colossus. That could be the reason for the different inclinations of the lift slope. So, the fist could be 12 degrees followed by a second larger hill of twice the inclination. It could make for a good ride, having a slower first section followed by a larger grand finale. Probably, though, it is just one track that accounts for clearance.

I don't know when this is from but here's Alton Tower's potential development map. d The flume site is zone 3 and it states that an appropriate development would be 'redevopment for leisure' which considers surrounding trees. (Source: from towers street) I know we already know the location but I found it interesting that this area has always been labelled as one to be developed. As for the layout, I doubt that's really it, as the majority of layouts change over time. Saying that, I hope this is the layout, because it looks like a woodie! Edit: Again, credit to TowersStreet for this image of the proposed layout placed into the surrounding area.
  20. I agree with your latter point. I worry that with the headsets the experience will seem disjointed. For example, you wear the headsets and you are entirely immersed. However, having someone tell you to take them off completely spoils the immersion and it could become very disjointed having many elements. I'm sure the elements themselves will be great, I just hope the transitions and storyline will deliver.
  21. The drumming? Yes. It is supposed to trigger you so that you feel more scared as your heart beat will match that of the soundtrack. I believe the name Dodonpa is also meant to replicate the sound of drums. I've read into this way too much.

Victoria Wood was a massive shock, to me she seems like a very current figure in comedy drama. Prince, however, I couldn't believe. Despite him being before my time I feel like he has had a direct influence on every piece of music I listen to. Bowie & Prince. Musical greats. RIP.
  23. In addition, parks will almost get a surge in customers when their new attraction opens. For example, Thorpe Park would have obviously received customers upon opening and now they will have another surge when DBGT opens. Also, the period when the park is open aids the hype as the park is advertised through social media more (simply by people on park). This gets more people aware of the park and therefore their new attraction. So, people will be more aware or Derren Brown's ghost train because they may be aware that it it the theme park season. Therefore, it seems more relevant and will provide an increase in customers.
  24. I kind of agree with you about launches, but that's why I love them. The best coasters are the ones that no matter how many times you've been on them, you still get a little nervous, but afterwards you're completely buzzing. This happens for me on Stealth, I get a bit nervous which is why I love it so much. I went on it 13 times in a row once! Due to this, one of my top to ride is Dodonpa at Fuji Q Highland. Although I'd be pretty nervous in the queue, I'm sure that no launch (not even formula rossa) can match the intensity of Dodonpa (contains the world's fastest acceleration and the most negative G force on a coaster).
  25. There are 2 definitions oh hyper coasters. It either means the model of hyper coasters or just any coaster in height between 200-300 feet. This is similar with Gigas as there is a model B&M giga howeve giga also means any coaster within the height region of 300-40o feet. I do not consider Stealth to be a hyper but I was just clarifying for those who view the terms hyper, giga and strata purely to do with height.
