Honestly that should be the regular timetable. No one goes on the rapids first thing and Duel almost never has a queue so they can open later. There’s clearly demand for the CBBies attractions. Shame we can’t see the big six on ert.

Popular YouTube games critic, John Bain aka TotalBiscuit died of cancer yesterday. I guess if there is one word of advise he gave about cancer it’s this; If you notice any type of bleeding, for god’s sake see a doctor. Don’t ignore it or shrug it off even if you may find it embarrassing. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44250597

Towers are giving away fastrack tickets with their cheap annual passes now. https://www.altontowers.com/tickets/season-pass/

VR Temple. An upcharge attraction where you get to stand in a box wearing a VR headset for 10mins. Oh wait, that one’s real.

Something happening on Facebook at 9pm tonight -

The amount of actors. That’s it as far as I could tell.
-
Yeah, that’s what I mean. I mainly go to Thorpe.
-
Yeah I feel a little ripped off having a MAP when you see the prices for the Thorpe AP this year! Having said that, some people I know who wouldn’t usually visit often or more than once a year actually got an AP and are willing to visit more so maybe it will pay off as I usually spend at least £10-20 every time I go.

- The maze was advertised as having more rooms. - I’m not criticising being sent around alone, I don’t like the fact that there are no warnings at the entrance / before you enter that you may be sent around alone. There were disabled people with wristbands who were quite distressed from being separated from their carers and forced to go alone despite objecting. - My point was that part of the fear is being chased by walkers who would be trying to bite you in the tv show. I said that they would obviously never do this. You lose that fear of being chased when they’re just pushing you around awkwardly. - This topic is titled SPOILERS - It may be simple to get actors at this time of the year but it’s hard to feel the ambience of Halloween on a warm, light summer evening. - Fright Nights was so overrated and overcrowded last year with a terrible preview event, a handful of mazes of which one was only a decent length that had multiple e-stops both times I went. (None at Tulleys) Fortunately it was the first year I went to Tulleys which is a far superior event to fright nights. (With 8 mazes, 9 this year as well as staying open to midnight) I’m certain that unless there are significant changes, I will most definately be missing Fright Nights. Hence this is why I am criticising this free attraction in good time for October.

After a second go yesterday, I really think the ride keeps getting better! First just want to point out a criticism regarding safety. The lights going out in the corridor make it very dark. I assume this caused someone to run into the wall where the folding chairs are in the dark as they were lying on the floor. (They were ok) I’d put some bright black and yellow stripes or something around the corners so you can still see where you’re going. There’s been some tweaks to the exit canteen corridor. Having live actors here makes a huge difference! The horn of the truck was much louder and made you jump when it went off. The last walker sticking out the roof before the exit gives you one good last scare. I think one thing that would make the corridors better would be the sound of a group of walkers playing in the compromised sections of the entry and along the exit corridor. Overall, I genuinely like the ride, just keep making a few more improvements and get some full time actors or animatronics for the canteen.

It was just more of the same really. The maze wasn’t any bigger. The groups of actors made it a little better than usual. Didn’t start off good as seeing the derelict Slammer up close kind of pissed off a few of us. Then we were separated from everyone we were queueing with. Then I was separated and sent around on my own which had some good interaction with all the actors but my girlfriend was not happy about. I think Thorpes rule of letting the actors touch you takes away takes away some of the psychological fear. You had to push your way through at some points. I kind of get you’re being mobbed by walkers but it’s kind of awkward that they just block you as in reality they’d be trying to bite you which they obviously can’t do. It doesn’t help either doing the maze in May rather than around Halloween where I’d be more in the mood. I wish it was more clear if we were going to be sent through alone before going in. Left rather disappointed and annoyed. If that’s the extreme version (best version) of a fright nights maze, I don’t think I’ll be coming back for fright nights this year. The maze is just too short. I’d happily visit Tulleys instead this year with thier huge mazes, loads of actors who can scare you without touching, themed disclaimers and descriptions of the maze before going in.

Year Of The Walking Dead Events (2018)

If the maze had the best possible scare rating, how is it scarier? Thorpe have done this one trick: -
No, it only includes rides on the Adrenaline and Exhilerate packages plus The Ghost Train, Dodgems, 4D cinema, I’m a Celeb Maze Quantum & Zodiac. Usually new rides are not included in Fastrack packages / one shots until at least the second year after opening.
-
This is just bs / a wind up at this point, there’s no logic to it.
-
How stall games lower your odds of winning or are almost impossible:
-
The signage may be out of date and social media may be quite blunt this year however they are still in their right to change and enforce whatever they want in their park. The rules around this were cleared up with operations by social media beforehand. There really shouldn’t be an arguement whether you can or can’t.
-
Wahey, Quantum may have been forgotten a bit on the forum but it’s still a good flat which Thorpe should keep on their lineup.
-
All the constant daily vlogging is getting ridiculous this year. At the end of the day, Towers are in their right to enforce the rules of their rides and discourage people who think it may be ok to do that. There is on-ride photography for those kinds of pics. Its a shame some people can’t just enjoy a ride in the moment without trying to get their phones out mid-ride. Thorpe staff have been more on the ball enforcing the rules this year, saw them eject two people from Rush for queue jumping and warn a guy for trying to film on Flying Fish.

Saw a great POV climb of the new Starflyer in Orlando.

Year Of The Walking Dead Events (2018)

I feel like Thorpe are really clueless sometimes with their unclear future direction. They had a great ImaScore track made for fright nights and they use it any time they want now. There’s going to be very little left to differentiate Fright Nights from TWD events this year. And how many years will they recycle the studio director audio? -
Year Of The Walking Dead Events (2018)

Just saw the “theming” for the apocalypse weekends event. I know you’re on a budget Thorpe but damn, I’ve seen better diy efforts during Halloween. ?️ Hoped that The Walking Dead would at least set some standards unless they approve of the dirty sheets and marker pen signs. -
There is scenery, it's got some burnt tree stumps and a few skulls.

I did it for the first time at the weekend. What I think; Had to queue for longer as half the batch groups were made up of disabled and fastrack users. We would have got in sooner until two fastrack users jumped in the group just before us. The preshow was not great, doesn't really explain much, it's a hard story to follow if you go into it not knowing anything about it. The screen and sound effects behind did nothing to scare the group, actually I don't think anyone else knew it was there. I think there's a missed opportunity to start the experience and bulk out the story in the queue pen. Just something as simple as having announcements over the speakers about the outbreak of walkers on the island, why you're being grouped into the safe zone, what the safe zone is, etc. This was done to an extent on Sub Terra. I didn't really notice the lighting changes in the entry corridors and zones, I don't know if it wasn't perhaps working exactly as intended? The theming is much better in the corridors now although X hardly had any theming at all apart from the lights and some signs. The station was really good, glad to see it is fully themed and I thought the dispatch sequence was really good but I didn't see much of it being on the first train. I actually really enjoyed the ride, for me the best part of the attraction. The only thing I would change would be to add more of the old stopping points and scenes on the other brake runs. The strobe effect on the walkers was good, loved the new stop section. The flame effects and generator scene was fun, especially with the lighting and audio it felt so chaotic. The canteen was a bit of an anti climax. Everything was static, and the only effect was a crashing sound. It was dimly lit but there wasn't much of a creepy atmosphere or surprises. Just a dark, farty smelling room. The exit corridors were pitch black in places which was a little disorientating and I think another missed opportunity for some good surprise scares while people are still on edge before finishing the attraction. So I think the ride itself is pretty good. It's something quite different and a strong theme which I appreciate. As someone who does watch zombie films, it's good to have a ride with a zombie theme and not just dozens of scare mazes. The overall experience could be improved quite easily which I hope it will be. I'd give it the attraction as a whole 5/10, the ride 8/10 and a scare rating of 3/10 (I've jumped more on DBGT 2.5)

How is it possibly the opposite? All the complaints I saw were from MAP holders who can go anytime of year but wasted journeys with no way to guarantee their entry for specific dates.
