The problem is making the thing indoors and theming it up - they're not designed to have anything anywhere near them. They were fine at refresh, they were not fine as creaky cafe. They certainly should not have been on for a themed attraction in there.

Yes, it's called a double entendre. It goes right over the kids heads. We need more of it, though not as much as Bon Bon Land it seems.

Eurgh, the drop n shop sign. Shows everything wrong about the place sometimes. Attention to detail. A completely white building? Next to a building blatantly designed to show old floodwater damage? Fantastic.

Wait a second, so this would've removed the only remaining sign relating to the old bubbleworks? Balls.
-
Plant room would be bubbleworks plantroom - that's located just behind the fountain finale (think left to the "pop in again soon" fireworks bit just before station). All water treatment areas are called plant rooms. So that'd mean a good 50% of bubbles damaged if it got there as a fair bit of the ride (fairground, lift, potentially station) is surrounded by plant room. Edit: Reading the article, sounds like it did get to fangtasia shop. Edit again: On a lighter note.. Karma for doing a half arsed creaky cafe retheme? They never bothered touching the inside and left it with park benches . Wonder what this means for the rest of xmas event, seeing as the grotto is no more.

The photo shows it's Creaky Cafe, santa grotto. Spread into bubbles apparently, but no further. Good news for all.. well, apart from the apparently poor xmas attraction,

I'm working from 5. So, no chance

I'll more than likely stay in the hotel, considering I love the current one, and because it won't have the HI association I'll actually be able to get decent discounts, or those discounts will actually be available to use.

So, what areas haven't they updated now? Pirates Cove... LOTD... mystic.. Market Square? (Though they seem to be refreshing that as well now).

I'm personally glad they're actually doing something, investing in the park. Larger hotel.. hopefully leads to further guests on park. If not, a good hotel operation anyway. Least it should make Chessie look more profitable and worthwhile as a park anyway. Shame RMT will never be the same, but I think we all knew that was gonna happen. Hopefully Falls doesn't remain rockless and that £5m zufari cut was for absolutely nothing. Poor park, as always.

I'll find out if I can do this trip shortly. I'll be one of those attending after the merlin stuff if I can go. Loads of TPMers without MAPs anymore... interesting
-
Towers was £20 for 4 photos, it was an additional like £5 for digital downloads if you wanted them. All the parks have the same photo pricing policy, as they're governed centrally by merlin.
-
I presume you're joking there, yeah?
-
X is a coaster. Updates to park infrastructure is something which should happen every year anyway, and shouldn't be counted in investments anyway. Christ.
-
Are they getting something? All the "new" stuff could easily lead to the new hotel. I'm always sceptical when it comes to thorpey. Until they massively change and prove it, always will be.

Hobbit summed up: Scary huge spiders, and the best rapids ride ever. It's well good.

There must be other reasons to building the hotel than being led on, merlin are extremely pro-hotels. They're the main things in the parks to actually make money, they're trying to add a 3rd option at towers, they're extending the chessie one, it's obvious they'll actually build a proper hotel of which they can charge good money for and make good returns from (they'll never be able to make great returns from waterfront hotel, but a temporary one is obviously better than nothing). For merlin, who only seemingly like to spend money on building hotels to make RTP worthwhile on their portfolio, thorpe lacking a permenant one is somewhat interesting.

Towers monopoly doesn't offer discount because they'd be making a loss. Not even staff get it, because it's profit margins are not there. Least it's not chessie, which doesn't allow discount on almost everything (Nectar for birds, any sort of offer regardless of if it's cheaper to buy those products with discount SEPERATELY etc).

Isn't this just the rebranding of the holiday inn? With the extra rooms..

Frozen. Fantastic, just purely fantastic. Worth watching definitely. Watching Hobbits tomorrow, rather looking forward to it!

Ahh yeh, you've reminded me. The last sunday was dead. The other days were consistently 20min queues throughout. Mental.

"Hello squirrel hunters, I want to play a game". I ain't no squirrel hunter.
-
Nemesis was having 20min queues almost everyday throughout the event. I imagine feb 2014 will be more of the same.

I imagine they wanna keep the rides off the website, as the event is the xmas event. They've had issues in the past of people turning up because it's stated certain rides are open, and complaining due to the availability of them. Plus it helps if it's quiet, they don't need to open them. Chessie is forever budget saving because it doesn't seemingly have one to spend anyway.
