  1. Smiler I can understand, they were promoting the hell out of it for a good length before it opened and the hype is always larger for a roller coaster then for a land or a family ride. You wouldn't want your one trip of the year to be before the major new roller coaster was added, particularly if you are an adult or a teen. But I can't imagine families thinking in the same ways that older groups would.
  2. I can't believe that the majority of guests are putting off their visits for cbeebies land...
  3. I really like Vampire. It's just so family friendly. Sure it was better in bat cars but it's still a great ride in its current form.
  4. It's original I'll give it that...
  5. I'd say Rameses is more unreliable then Fury. Rameses half the time is just sitting there stationary whereas on Fury it's constantly monitoring up to seven cars, two lift hills, four block break sections and two trim breaks. There is just so much more to go wrong and on the whole, it's breakdowns are just block shutdowns.

  7. Either way, park visitors win. Whilst I am not Universals biggest fan, the amount of things they've added since my 2012 visit is quite something. If Potter expansion makes a huge dent in Disney's attendance then they will have to do something that isn't a Frozen meet and greet area. If Disney attendance remains stable then Universal will throw more and more in. Must be great being a park enthusiast in Florida right now, aside from the not quite that good B&M's
  8. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ON DISNEY'S NEW RIDE, HOW CAN YOU EVEN SAY THAT. Suffering from 'Merlin'itis are we Josh? Sometimes all we want is a fun ride, one that it is just enjoyable without being the best ever. If it looks fun then its done its job for its target audience of families and children. Job done in my opinion.
  9. Maybe Alvey wasn't offered enough freebies for him to fully enjoy his experience, hence why he might not look too pleased at the end of his ride..

    This Or That

Neither, boxers all the way Constantine or Kermit?
  11. Low throughput does that.. although I really liked the Parque Warner version seven years ago. Still, Thorpe can do better then something like that.

    The Banning Game

Banned for wanting to go to the meet.
  13. Bollocks (excuse my French but that is the only word I can find) is it. Fury is three adults because of incidents that occurred in the past. Fury is the only Maurer spinner with a permanent three adult rule. Spinball has specific rules in the rain but always runs four adults when its dry.
  14. She may be joking but that isn't how it reads on a forum.
  15. The History that fills the Pleasure Beach is so enriching. Riding Big Dipper or Grand National always fills me with so much nostalgia, thinking of the generations of people that have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) these rides. No other park has that affect on me.
  16. I can't see this reducing the air time much. Just a crazy thing though, there has never been a single incident on any B&M hyper for the seat belts to be warranted (That we know of).
  17. I've heard that Hershey Park and Cedar Point close if storms are within five miles of the park. It can be sunny and glorious over the park but if there is an inkling of a storm, all rides close, even the indoor ones. So in that respect, I think what we have works very well. Rides only close if they absolutely have to.
  18. Shame about Monster not being as extraordinary as Katun, Oz'Iris or Nemesis as on paper it should have everything. You haven't inspired me with this report to go and get my B&M credit, suffice to say I might leave Walygator for a while..
  19. Only problem is that water coasters are rubbish. So yeah, maybe not ey ;-)
  20. Blue Fire got the same response when it opened in 2009. People liked it but compared to other launchers and inverters, it isn't the most intense thing going. Helix has an even harder job as right next door is the punchy Kanonen. In other words, don't worry about what other people think and just try and get on it at all costs .
  21. So went to Chessington today and have to say... was very impressed. Don't get me wrong when I say there are still major problems in the park which aren't so apparent when the park is quiet compared to busy. I'll start with some of the glaring problems then. Falls is terrible after the Dragon cave. It's like you go into this amazing piece of sculpting and re-emerge into the sunlight in a dump yard. Bits of metal everywhere, the backside of Tomb Blaster, the arse of the panning for gold game. It's not great and needs to be seriously improved. Secondly is Tomb Blaster. The middle half of the ride isn't working so it's just some very poor props moving occasionally. Sure that's all it was when it has guns working but at least it distracts you. The other thing is my gun wasn't shooting lasers but I still scored points. Very peculiar. Okay onto the good stuff. I love, love, love the music that has been added to rides like Buccaneer and Seastorm. It makes the ride so much more interesting and its great stuff from the park that they are finally adding this stuff to the older rides. Secondly, the work being done at Rattlesnake is going well. The entrance snake has been polished up and looks all brand new with his little stack of dynamite. Some of the Mexican animatronics also look to have been refurbished and actually look great. Market Square looks absolutely sublime with its new look and the compass is the icing on the cake. Adored its refresh. Vampire's music is also much better with the pre-recorded announcements. Finally no more shouting down the PA by staff. The ride seemed to be running fine as well, our back row ride was very very enjoyable. We took a trip into the refreshed Market Square shop. It looks great and some of the merchandise is much better then what has gone before. The resins are clearly a big hit for Merlin as Kobra and Zufari both had something. And finally the new rides. Zufari is Chessington's No Way Out or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's trying so hard to be ambitious but just ends up looking silly. The Danger Cave is laughable and its attempt to be Kilimanjaro Safari fails on every level. We actually really liked Scorpion Express though and thought it was a decent enough attempt at redoing Runaway Train. It also seemed to be running very well too so maybe it got a proper refurbishment during its year out. We did take a look around the Zoo and all the animals seemed to be out. Creepy Caves looked the best it has done for years and the new Amazu area should look amazing when it does properly open. So all in all a successful trip to Chessington. I somehow feel that despite all the criticism it has been getting, there is life in the old dog yet It managed to impress both of us massively.
  22. They're back on. It's okay guys.
  23. Mack have just hit that magic spot where everything is falling into place and they are just building brilliant, perfect rides. Further proof then that B&M and Intamin need to step up their game as the Mack rides are just going to dominate.
  24. Picture from Coasterforces Facebook page. My god, its magnificent. :-D. Sweden is so bloody lucky.
  25. Oh my problem isn't with the congestion. It's with our poster forgetting all the problems when a freebie is thrown his way. Classic example of deflecting the problem at ride staff who get far more of a rough deal then a car park attendant will ever receive. His willingness to show off his three free fastracks is about bragging more then solving any issues.
