Just a reminder of this people, I'm going back to this policy, as some of the posts on TPM at the moment are borderline spam. I'll be moderating the Thorpe Park part for the forums a lot more harshly for the next few weeks, so before you post think about the relevance of the post before hitting the add post button. Thank you for your time.

It was amazing the first time I was told theres a Goodfellas Pizza. Five mentions later, it isn't quite as woah.
-
Oh me, me me please

You won't upset the fanboys here, Detonator is one of the best drop towers out there.

Virtual Q - First post - Thank god thats gone, I mean whats the point having a queue line that can't be used or having set times that I have to return to the ride at. It will never work.
-
Didn't realise you were a moderator either so we've both learnt something new today.

Well Bubbleworks is kind of excused, it's more a dark/water ride hybrid then a pure water ride. So that leaves Falls which always gets me wettish on the first drop and sprayed on the second. Yeah it's not Florida, but the British climate isn't well suited to super wet water rides.

If this system bothers people so much, you really should think about just not going. If genuine concerns are being ignored because of the odd positive tweet then Thorpe's position is clear. I'd rather encourage people to go to Europa Park or Efteling then to continue to visit and be disappointed by Thorpe.

This, although I still haven't renewed my pass and haven't visited Thorpe since March AP day. The rollercoasters are the only things really worth riding at Thorpe and I won't be queuing 2 hours for Rush or Zodiac to fill the inbetween time. Has anyone told Thorpe (Or Merlin for that matter) that the way to get a queueless theme park is to have excellent staff, high through put rides, maximum capacity at all times and no fastrack clogging up the system.
-
I can only go by my experience with it's throughput, sorry if its not dead accurate Turtle.
-
It's probably not representative as a whole but at Radiator Spring Racers at California Adventure, when two of the cattle pens are full and fastpass is running, the queue takes 40 minutes. When we queued at the same point before fastpass begun, it took thirteen minutes for our first go and ten minutes for the second go. Now thats a ride with 3,600 people per hour so I would never say Thorpe's rides queues would be so much less, but I do think the British culture is far more into these lousy fastrack schemes then Europeans certainly. The experiment wouldn't work because people would rather pay then be patient.

Your comparison to Six Flags and Cedar Fair doesn't hold as much weight because those passes are extremely limited and are priced appropriately. Otherwise, everything you say is spot on unfortunately. I applaud Thorpe for trying something different but a queue less theme park doesn't exist in the peak of summer.
-
It's at a point now where Thorpe aren't overselling fastrack, they give so many of the bloody things out for free that no matter what the queue to fastrack ratio is, it's always going to be wrong. And now £15 for ride and reserve? Is that confirmed? If so, ridiculous that they are running both systems at the same time.

Majority of reviews of Leviathan (which is the only real comparative for a B&M here) suggest that Fury325 will be a very good ride. Leviathan for reference was rated 13th in the Mitch Hawker 2013 poll (Which is actually up 5 places on its 2012 placing). Besides, we've got a high and long roller coaster being built by a company that three years ago said would never go over the 300 height barrier. I'm excited for it even if I never ride it because this along with Thunderbird and the kiddy Inverter in China, shows B&M are coming out their shells a lot more then previously.
-
Thank god I'm off of the hook then. Out of interest, if you were one of the more militant Vegetarians out there, what would you do?
-
Ooh Awesome. Love the name and the colour scheme. B&M are very much in vogue at the moment.
-
Its okay, they took the seagulls body and made it into a delightful stew. It tasted great.
-
1. Nemesis Inferno - Decent little B&M inverter. 2. The Swarm - Decent big B&M wing-rider 3. Detonator - Best drop tower in the world. Seriously 4. Colossus - Don't find it rough so I enjoy it. 5. Stealth - Scary warey. 6. Tidal Wave - Nostalgia at its worst, remember the days off a proper Amity Cove, not the rubbish area Tidal Wave now sits in. The other rides are either so generic, poorly run or just boring that I'm not finding it worthwhile putting them in a list.
-
Ah.. broken down rides, rubbish staff, spiralling out of control queue times. Sounds like the Thorpe of the 2009 years.
-
Only went on 52 rides this time?

I agree with your points. My post does read like I blame everything on Blackfish when that isn't the case.
-
I think Seaworld as it was is long gone. No matter how you look at it, that Blackfish documentary has done the brand name so much damage that the Seaworld name is pretty toxic and giving the Orcas larger tanks isn't going to be enough. The sad thing is, they do so much for conservation of other species and it makes me wonder if the more the shares plummet, the more visitors stop going, what effect will it have on the good work that Seaworld has done and continues to do. Way to many what if's in my post.

I'm not patronising you Altitude, I'm applauding the fantastic costume.

I had a soft spot for Calgary Stampede . For some reason my fallible child memory thought it was Rodeo but swingy.
