Guess the Song!

Kerfuffle

Recommended Posts

One for the music lovers! The idea is that one person inserts a line of lyrics to the chorus of a song and the other players have to try and guess which song (and band/singer) it is! However, before the answer can be revealed, at least 3 guesses need to be made and just like in 'Lie to Me', whoever guesses correctly can have their turn! Also, if the name of the song is included in the chorus, then this is censored with asterisks (*****), prior to the number of words in the song name.

Right. Without further ado, I shall kick this off with a "fairly" easy one!

"The more that you want it, the more that you need it, I know that you’ll be by my side. ** *** **** ** *** ****** when the thunder and lightning come, I know that you’ll be by my side..."

(EDIT: When possible, it's always necessary to provide a hint! ;))

Okay that was 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' by Green Day. Try this:

Cause ****** ** ******, we gave you everything you ever dreamed of.

****** ** ******, the wheels of your life have slowly fallen off.

****** ** ******, you have to give it all in all your life

and all the time, I just ask myself why you're really here...

Err...I'm not going to cheat, but I have no idea what that is! Anyway, I'm bringing this back with a few rule changes:

  • The posted lyrics don't have to be part of a chorus. They can be from anywhere in the song, as long as they're eight lines or less!
  • Once a guess has been confirmed as correct, the song can be posted...although that is optional, but advisable.

Otherwise, the other current rules stand as waiting for a confirmation before the correct guesser takes his/her turn...and no cheating by searching the lyrics either!

"I live my life in the city
There's no easy way out
The day's moving just too fast for me.
I need some time in the sunshine
I've gotta slow it right down
The day's moving just too fast for me."
