  1. Yep agree with that, and its pretty decent of the park to keep people informed that these days will be busy to IMO!

Wouldnt surprise me, the fact the rides been closed 2 days and theres been a crane on site indicates there may be more to this than just a bolt pop.
  3. I guess you mean 10am Will be fine, we should be finished at stealth by 9:30.
  4. 07:00 AM outside Reception. I know its early but it will be worth it, as for car parking the barriers will go down later in the day so it depend what time you leave!
  5. That pic amazes me, all them people stood in a queue without even heading on park to see what the queues actually are...

Few hours? Although to be fair the track didnt actually detach like it has here, I cant see it taking too long though.

Doubt it will be a few days, looks like there fixing it right now..
  8. Maybe the fastrack system is being run properly just the park have a very different idea to how many is acceptable compared to us? It's a common theme across the parks now with long queues to buy fastrack/ sellers at the evtrances and the fastrack queue making the main queue longer. If it was affecting guests days that badly they would complain in their masses and somthing would probably change.

Ok saws abit different with where the transfer track is and the twisty track The rest are usually pretty fast!
  10. It really depends on the weather etc, it won't be as busy as the dates the park are warning about that's for sure!

It only takes 5 min to take trains off and they will do so if they feel they are not needed or engineers need to do their checks on them
  12. Hey, Welcome to TPM! As a rule the first week of the summer holidays are generally the quietest (no idea why!!) so hopefully it wont be to bad for you! As for advice I'm sure others will better recommend but id head get Dragons Fury and Vampire done as soon as possible as these do rack up the highest queues! The zoo and shows around the park are also pretty good Have a good trip!

The page has been updated, Tidal Wave and Storm Surge are now open with a "party atmosphere" on the beach!
  14. If you got to a train station within the area I'm sure somone could help, but the places you listed are 100's of miles away :|
  15. By the sounds of it you will be better off getting a Thorpe Park pass, espcially with the offer at the moment which will get you a Thorpe pass for just £53! One thing to bare in mind is Fright Nights but then at just £5 usually, I cant see you using it that much to make it work out more than a merlin pass http://thorpepark.com/prices/annual-passes.aspx?tabnum=2

The effects work on storm surge I think they are on a random timer but I'm pretty sure they all work

I like the advert quite a lot actually, I think for a while the park have lacked an add which shows off more than just one of its rides and its nice to see them showing of the family rides to, I dont think we need any more proof that they are going back to targeting this market!
  18. Good to hear, the point I was trying to make is both parks have there pros and cons in the way things are run IMO. From what I understand your able to fill your capsule up at the restaurants (Bar 360 / Bush BBQ etc) if your eating a meal there. I'm not sure the reasons behind it.
  19. It's swings and roundabouts, Alton do things such as sell fastrack on the smiler when it's not reedy / have sellers going into the queue lines which is somthing I wouldn't like to see at Thorpe. Equally with the drinks I agree it's handy how at Alton you can just do it your self, but in the summer I rarther Thorpes system avoiding me fights with wasps!
  20. Huge thanks for Thorpe Park for this, will be great fun!

@THORPEPARK: We've taken your comments on board and on Monday will be lowering the price for Summer Nights to £15 Standard & £5 Annual Pass. #HappyFriday

I guess we will see if its too much from the sales wont we..

^ Different park. Thorpe didnt sell fastrack on Saw till it was running full capacity, they dont send fastrack sellers into its queue lines. They wont sell fastrack at this event.
  24. Marc replied to MarkC's topic in General Discussion
They wont advertise an event as having no queues and then sell 10,000 tickets will they. I'm sure it will be limited, and the number will be low enough to ensure there are no queues.

Out of interest why would this stop you renewing your pass? (unless your a hotel enthusiast!) The park still has the same rides, and will continue to invest, they just clearly feel that a full hotel isnt right for them at this time. Crash pad has clearly had good guest feedback (otherwise they wouldnt consider this) so I dont see the real issue with this.
