Parks, Rides And Coaster News
I'm really looking forward to it; I love Busch Gardens, it's a brilliant park. No I think you're going to beat me to it Adam! I go on the 7th August and will probably be at Busch Gardens around the 14th/ 15th.Who's up for a TPM meet-up? There are a few of us going!

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
There have been several photo updates of Cheetah Hunt over at Orlando United Forums recently. Showing off more landscaping and finishing touches to the area.I'd definitely recommend the official update from Busch Gardens, too, over on Orlando United, as well. Only a couple of weeks now.

Hi Adam.I've been reading through some of your posts and at the very core of them, you seem to be very interested in theme parks and have a passion for it all, which is great and it's awesome that you've found this site, so a big welcome there. In order for you to integrate and take part in the forums, there is a certain way to behave. Small things like double- checking for similar topics before posting new ones and having a good read around the forums before taking part in discussion is definately a good idea.I was your age when I started browsing theme park forums, and I know it's quite a good feeling, knowing that there are other people out there who love theme parks as much as you do. My advice would be, continue to familiarise yourself with the forums, take note of the quality of your posts and take your time when taking part in discussion, it's not a race.If you need to ask questions, there are a couple of topics where it would be appropriate; either in Tips For New Members, or Introduce Yourself. You could also send me a personal message, if you'd prefer, I'm more than willing to offer some helpful tips. I'm sure Ian has already offered his support and is always there if you have an issue, as are the other team members and moderators if you feel the need to talk to someone privately.Once again, I'd just like to point out, most of the time it's not your post content that's the issue, it's how you write it that you need to work on and whether there is an existing place to post whatever you want to say. I'd like to welcome you to the forums anyway, I hope things work out for you.

Now, why don't we all sit down, have a cuppa, and wait for all this to blow over, eh?

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I think given that so much money is being invested in this project, we're going to see marketing cranked up to the max. They've already started a large in park campaign as we've seen with the flyers and actors. Even Thirteen, which had a huge budget for marketing and an extensive campaign, didn't go to this scale until Scarefest of 2009.Due to the amount of marketing, and already lots of eyes on the Capital and the surrounding area, Thorpe will see a huge influx of guests, particularly throughout the summer months. We may not notice is too much, as this ride will have a large throughput and will be able to cope.

I'm loving all of your daily trip reports so far Nicky, please keep posting them whenever you get the time. It's getting me so stoked for my trip this summer. Glad to see that you enjoyed yourself anyhow.

Here's an offride view of Starry Night Ripper. The speed at which it takes that Zero G Roll!

Safari Skyway
As far as I know, Skyway was one of the original attractions when the park opened as Chessington in 1987 (although I may be wrong on this as the early park history is still a little fuzzy with me).The entire Transylvania area and its attractions opened in 1990. :rolleyes:The facts on the top trumps cards are far from accurate and not to be taken as canon.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Great TR. Really pleased to hear the park wasn't as busy as you were expecting and it sounds as though operations were efficient at least.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I doubt anyone on the development team would tell an actor the nature behind the code name. They would have just been given direction and how their character should behave.

Moan moan moan moan moan moan moan moan moan moan.....That's all we get from the same two or three members every time. I don't think it's a forum problem we have, I think it's a dispute between a selected few who like to broadcast it on the forums.Time for an anti-rant.

Doctor Who
The Silence will be back, for sure. We're still yet to find out why they wanted the Tardis explode in the last series amongst some other things. I think they play a larger part in this series. It does perhaps elude to how all those aliens managed to form an alliance last season- they were manipulated by the Silence, and then they forgot.Watched the episode a second time last night, after missing little bits of the episode before. I thought it was fantastic and a cracking two parter for Who. There were some amazing River moments in this episode that was really touching.... that is the last time she will kiss the Doctor and it was his first. Aww. Confidential was also a cracker too. So glad it's back.

Tidal Wave's Effects
I have footage of Tidal Wave from 2002, including the water tower and gas ball explosion. Unfortunately it's on tape and I don't have the equipment to convert it.I'm more than happy to send it to someone who has the equipment to convert it all. It's a great 15 minutes of video actually. Brings back a lot of memories for me.

People will moan with some of their current circumstances of their lives because at the time, that is all they know and you have to adapt to the changes. As people get older, they will find new things to moan about. Education gets harder, but at the same time, you also get older and mature at the same level and learn how to adapt to it.Obviously, this is without doing any university work, I would say that the biggest shock for students is the leap from GCSE's to A levels.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Hey Michael! Once again welcome to the forums. :mellow:The Highlights of those plans can be found over on Thorpe Park Mania. They were released a couple of months ago, just to bring you up to speed with things. What are your thoughts on them?

Vampire
Yep! I mentioned these last week from my trip report, but I think it got lost in all of the text. They look cool, it's a nice idea but the audio sounds slightly amateur. I agree with the Adabs- they do not belong outside in the British weather and were designed for indoor use!

The Big Bad Movie Topic
A very old film, but I watched American Beauty last night. Wow, what a gorgeous and beautifully symbolic film. One of my favourites. Brilliantly moving.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I've always imagined the first inversion/ drop as a nod to a "nose-dive" manoeuvre that an aircraft would perform. For once, I have faith in Studios to create a pretty tight back story, either way.

Embarrassing But Important Question
Your chest measurements may be a better indication. Most of the coasters have upper limits approaching 52 inches across the chest. Hope that helps. :)Edit: also don't feel embarrassed.

Rant
Just to round a few things off from the last page.May people accept my deepest apologies if I have hurt them in any way (directly to Tom here). I assure you it was not my intention to come between two people or have a negative impact on any relationship. I would like to eventually be able to wipe the slate clean. Like you said, things have happened in the past... people have moved on, it's about time I did too. Just to clarify, I never spread any lies or endeavoured to say things with malicious intent. That's not me at all. There is some hostility between members of this forum, and if I'm being honest, some of it is justified. Some things are unforgivable and I think I can speak for a few members here when I say that sometimes, for your own safety, you cannot find it in you to move on. It's justified because some things are more sinister when you go digging than what everyone sees on the surface. With any situation where people get hurt, it takes time for wounds to heal. I'm upset with someone from here right now and they're completely oblivious to what they've done. It's unlikely that I'll want much to do with this person again but in time I'll be able to find a common ground and can manage to be civil at least.I'm sorry if I've made anyone feel uncomfortable over the last couple of weeks with the recent drama. I don't make a habit of these things. Thanks for reading.
