    Doctor Who

New Doctor Who concept trailers appeared earlier tonight on BBC1- 4 at the same time. What's interesting is that there were two slightly different versions of the trailer that aired. The BBC randomised which regions and channels received which version. On one version, there was an alien behind the Doctor! Here are the two teasers that aired. The second one shows the alien! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGivQ6eVfsQ I don't usually get spooked by Doctor Who but this teaser has actually freaked me a little. I think this was an absolutely genius thing to do and will spark a lot of interest amongst fansites. I think these are The Silence/ Silents who we'll meet during the two parter.I'm so incredibly excited. I think this series is going to be fantastic and will hopefully make people appreciate series 5 more, as there were quite a few loose ends at the end of last series, waiting to be tied.I also find it interesting that there are astronauts and the whole silence situation. I can't help but feel there will be a tie in with the Silence in the Library two parter as part of River Song's series story arch.Don't look behind you!
  2. I'm glad that there is a lot more interest in this than I anticipated. Would be great if some of you that are possibly attending can make it! Make sure you guys keep us posted!
  3. ^ That's your opinion... not fact! ;)Still keep watching the video. Those restraints look mightily awesome.
  4. Avoiding you? I spoke to you on chat on here and you ignored me!

    The cheek! Xx

  5. It would be great if you could make it! ;)People of all ages come to the meets. People as young as 13/ 14 come. At the meet, we'll spend the day enjoying the park and riding the attractions. It's quite a good experience being able to spend time with people who share the same passion and interests as you in theme parks. It's quite a cool social activity really. As long as you have permission and are able to come then we'd love to have you there!
  6. For old time's sake! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnbbSqHnSxA&feature=player_profilepage
  7. The advertised walkthrough to celebrate Vamp's 21st birthday will most likely be the Black Forest Haunt with some added themeing. But yeah, to answer your question, it will be open! :PReally pleased to hear that you've decided to come Topsy!
  8. Well strictly speaking, the time between one train being dispatch to the next is much more, it's only because the train spends so much time faffing about, coming into the station (stop, start, stop, start.... stop) which means that ride staff have something silly like 27 seconds to unload guests, load guests and check restrains and then dispatch.Judging from on ride videos, the ride time is around 3 minutes (ish) from dispatch to then returning to the station, without any stoppages on lift 2. So I guess you're looking at just over a minute between trains.
  9. Well great minds think alike Dan! :PStill can't get enough of the music from that video, and also the short ambient loop played on the minisite.
  10. Can I also just add, that mini site is fantastic. Loving the music and background images. This could really be a world class attraction, hopes it lives up to expectations.I feel this ride will capture the essence of Oblivion and Nemesis in terms of theme... Nemesis with the restraining of the "beast" and then Oblivion with the secret government facility theme blended throughout. In fact this could be the best themed ride Merlin has installed if said landscaping goes ahead. Get me to Gardaland now.
  11. Thanks for posting!Ugh, Raptor, just take me, take me now! *Drools*
  12. I used to love this advert when I was 11
  13. I thought it was a pretty decent place as there are places to sit whilst people are waiting and... meh I dunno, it just felt right!
  14. Well the Fountain Finale scene lighting is much improved from last year, however I still prefer the original lighting program with the strobes. Also various sections of the scene used to pulse different colours to other parts... not like in the video above where the whole room pulses the same colour at once.Elsewhere though- I think this goes to show how emotive music really is at theme parks, whilst there are still bugs (Fairground music isn't looped properly still), it does sound as though the whole atmosphere of the attraction has been lifted. The original ride has such a huge cult following and was so highly regarded amongst enthusiasts, anything done to improve the ride just won't be good enough.Saying that, it's good to see the ride receive some attention and well done to all who made it happen. I believe Bubbleworks is Chessington's "best" ride in regards to guest feedback scores, and with the money spent on this over the closed season, I don't think this ride is going anywhere any time soon.
  15. Christ! Your sleeping pattern is as bad as mine! :P

  16. Ohh I didn't know that. Haha oops, sorry! *Facepalm*Yeah I agree. I don't think Truckers should exist in the first place, 200pph is disgraceful, even without fastrack.
  17. Evening everyone! After some interest was shown into a Chessington meet, here are final details about this trip:Date: Monday 11th April.Place: Tomb Blaster Courtyard Time: Between 10:30 and 11 amJust to clarify, Tomb Blaster Courtyard is the area around the Tomb Blaster Exit and by the Fastrack Entrance:I'm sure everyone knew that already, but now there's no excuse. :PAfter everyone has met up, the idea is to spend the whole day with each other, excluding time for lunch, where we may split depending on where individuals want to eat (I'm up for Pizza Pasta... om nom nom).I don't personally like strict itineraries, especially at theme parks where there are so many factors such as queue times, and occasional break downs, the idea is to just go with the flow and enjoy the day with some awesome people. Whilst we cannot force you to stay with the group, we kindly ask you to wait for the group if you do not wish to ride an attraction out of respect for all members attending this meet. Some of us are staying over at the Premier Inn Chessington, the night before, Sunday 10th April. You're more than welcome to book your own room (£17.50 per person, based on 4 people per room) and come and join us in the Monkey Puzzle for a meal. The food in there is absolutely fantastic, plus you'll get to be a geek and look at The Vampire from outside! ;)I assume most people who are interested in this meet know travel information about getting to Chessington. However, if not, please visit National Rail or, ask one of us and we'll be able to help you out with some travel options for you.I'm really looking forward to the day, it should be a great alternative to the Thorpe Park Meets if you've been unable to attend in the past or are unable to attend any future meets this year. This would be a great opportunity if this is your first meet, as it's looking to be a smallish group of people, so if you're nervous, don't worry, come along for the day, we don't bite! :PIf anyone has any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to post here. You can also drop me a PM as well. Benin and Holly9 are also available if you'd rather speak to them. Once we know a definite attendance list, I'll give you my phone number in case of any problems. Please tick if you're attending... ect. See y'all then! Confirmed as Attending http://forum.maniahub.com/meets/confirmed.php?meet_id=110411 Maybe Attendinghttp://forum.maniahub.com/meets/possibly.php?meet_id=110411
  18. Please find trip details in the relevant topic....
  19. And what a great way to celebrate your birthday! :PMost people are around your age, possibly a year or two older, so not much difference really. I think the oldest person (who's 100% going) is me and I'm 21 .... but act immature .
  20. 1000 per hour for RMT? Wishful thinking isn't it? You'd be lucky with 800 on Chessie's one and that's if staff are literally running up and down the platform and guests cooperate for you.
  21. Haha! Ahh well. I have no idea who or what they are, so I'll bask in my own ignorance and pretend that it was an original idea created for the theme park.
  22. Well considering the large majority of people who regularly attend meets are in full time education, then they would have the Easter Holidays off. Travel is better during the week, rather than a weekend and quite a few members who do work, work at the parks, which as we know, is relatively flexible. It seems like a good idea. There's more interest in this than I was expecting. If people are happy with Monday 11th April, then I'll finalise trip details within the next day. It's 3 weeks away today.I'm pretty certain the majority of us are confident with travel details and stuff, if there are members who perhaps want to try their first meet up and are unsure about travel then between us we can provide information. I'm not really one for strict itineraries, much like the London trip; this one will literally be meet up and spend the day with each other.
  23. I'm looking forward to riding this at the Chessie meet next month then. It's Mark 9 approved so it must be quite good!
  24. Mmm. Forget UK, I'd say that's a world competing park based on the creativity and variety of attractions on offer. The best thing for me though, no IP's. Just pure theme park escapism. I need to go to this park before I die.
  25. We now know where that concept art came from! I'm in love with this video... explanation of the creative development of the attraction, courtesy of Candy Holland. Oh my
