  1. LOL. That really made me laugh for some reason.I have a sudden urge to ride Rumba atm. I miss TR
  2. Some of the boats have a different shaped front don't they?Isn't this what controls the splash shape, and size?Obviously those other factors have an effect too.

I've never been on Rush also (OMG I'm such a bad fanboy).I must admit, I don't really like the look of it.

I think Seb meant that it should be changed so it is able to fit in with Amity. I don't think he was implying that it was already in Amity. That would be a good idea, think of the special effects that it could have (wwooo fire!!).Although I think it should stay pirate themed as it goes with Detty, as pirates are associated with cannons.I can't remeber if I've put this already, but I think it would be good as a live show, mixed with special effects.I just think it would give a little more re- ridability- perhaps if they had a few different shows.
  8. There are two tracks on the Donnie Darko soundtrack that would suit X perfectly I reckon. The first being Manipulated Living- there's about 38 secs at the start of ambient, and sinister music before the main part of it kicks in, with a beckoning, strange, and quite frankly, very bizzare section of music- lasting 1: 30 mins. The second track I think would suit the queueline really well. This one is called Ensurance Trap. It starts off like the station track at first, with a very bassy, atmospheric tone and then is layered with slightly psychotic, random sounds throughout. There are a few loud noises in it too. It frightened the life out of me when I listened to it!! This lasrs for 3:12 mins but isn't too short as there isn't a melody as such. I guess it's like the Colossus/ Vortex ambience music.EDIT: Although, it would be nice if they came up with something original, but we can't be too choosey! It would deffinately be a good choice for Fright Nights if not.

Well I must admit, I've not experienced the scenario that you described, but there was one instance where I went on it in the rain. It was cold, wet (this was in August) and just unpleasant really- but still fun.Anyway, we're just about to get into the station, and the thing decides it wants to break down. There I am, at the back of the boat, stuck in the rain: cold. Bleak. Soggy. It was great. Lol.

HAHA!For once Cringle, I actually didn't mean what you were implying. lol. wow, this is history, clearly a missed opportunity there. I realized after I posted that; we already (kinda) know what's happening in the short- term, (except 2008) so I guess my post was worthless really.OK, I'm rambling now, so I'm gonna stop. I don't seem to explain myself very well
  11. I've just remebered another brilliant moment. My aunite and I decided to go on one of the carousels in Carousel Kingdom (shock horror!). So we get on there, and I decide that I don't want to go on a horse, I actually want to go on a cup- thing. So there's my auntie, a 35 year old woman at the time (who looked as though she was alone) on a horse, looking very embarressed and sorry for herself.Aww.Thorpe used to be so good. And then Tussauds bought it (Predictable I know).

I think the fact is, they could have chosen any colour they wanted really- it didn't matter, it was approved. However, Thorpe saw the opportunuty to "please" the locals and decided to colour it white instead.Compare this to other colours (and take into consideration what the colour of our skies are most of the time), and I think white "blends" the most.In regards to the MTDP, well, it is clearly out-dated now. I think it would be interesting to see an updated MTDP, to give us an insight into what direction Thorpe want to go in.It would be good to see a STDP too
  13. OOO I was looking at that the other night. Very good stuff Cringle. I especially like the Fright Nights-esque one.Although.... I think it's more the fact that you think you suck at things. I disagree with your opinion.

Damn I need to get a job (I really need an AP this year!!).Well, obviously something like retail to start off with. I'm actually thinking of leaving sixth form to get a job at Thorpe >_<.Although, I need to get my grades so I can study Psychology at Uni. I really wanna be an Ed' psych'. Or perhaps a Clin' psych'.Meh every aspect of psychology fascinates me.I luff it.
  18. I think that once the 2009 coaster is built, there will be more interaction. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're gonna do with the project; in terms of paths through the place.I mean, Thorpe and Tussauds in general are known for their interactive coasters, with paths intertwining throughout the coaster. If they're going to carry on this tradition, surely Loggers will lose some of that escapism that it provides.I'm just interested to see what they do with it.
  19. What are your favourite memories of Thorpe Park? We all have those favourite moments....... let's disscuss them here.Well mine would be of a few years ago, Tidal Wave was being built and it was back when Thorpe used to have fireworks. It used to be on a Sunday, my family and I would go to the pub where my auntie lived and have a meal there. We would get to Thorpe by 3/ 4pm and the entrance price was like ?10.I remember riding Rumba Rapids in the dark- full of mist and you couldn't see where all the water jets were. The next would be eating Burger King and watching the fireworks. On the way out of the park, we always finished the day off with Depth Charge, and then we used to watch people coming down the slides, and quite a few times we used to see people crash into the barriers at the end. (This is why they now have that coating on the surface of the floor).Obviously it was when the boat was crammed with two big men (oi oi sailor) and it just used to be funny watching and hearing everyone's reaction.Oh, and donuts, with butterscotch dip

I'm confused. I thought the height ceiling was 115ft.That's what people have always said to me :SLol. Anyway, I'm not sure it matters that much.

Yeah you're right about the area. I remember walking through it and my dad saying "look at all this open space, they could biuld loads here". Which is quite ironic I think.
  23. Sheepie replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
I've had them before, they went after like a day.Although if you're getting them often I'd go and see a doctor if I were you I hope it isn't anything serious.
  24. I remember reading about that water coaster a while back. There was an article about it somewhere, saying that each aspect of the ride had been given to a different manufactureer. This meant to bad communication problems and as a result led to mis- calculations ect.The park looks very cute though. I like these smaller parks. They don't seem to have "we are owned by a corperate company" written all over them.
