Oh what is the point, the people who live there really need to grow a few new brain cells. They live next to the UK's largest / most popular theme park which is now a resort, a few of them objecting a rollercoaster isn't going to make a massive difference. If they don't like it, they're welcome to bugger off IMO, regardless of the "residents were there first" argument - live with it, or move the hell out.Realistically, the only people that are going to be objecting to this coaster will live in Alton and / or Farley, of which the combined population is probably like 200. Which is a very very very small fraction of the amount of visitors they get each day so what makes them think they're gonna stop this coaster going ahead is beyond me.Alton Towers and JCB are the main providers of employment in those very remote areas and they should be welcoming such development during a recession, because it will attract more visitors and publicity which not only benefits Alton Towers, but is a great help to local business's like shops and B&B's etc. Do they realise where they would be without Alton Towers developing? If they stopped development eventually people would look elsewhere with an attitude of 'been there done that' to Alton.
