  1. Oblivion and Enterprise both make an appearance in the advert, for about three seconds. And I'm far from a 'fankid' of Alton Towers
  2. You have no idea how certain I was someone was going to do that
  3. So you've said, but Project Dylan won't be, Project Dylan won't stop at its highest peak before the drop, Project Dylan doesn't dive underground, Project Dylan has a steeper drop, Project Dylan has a steeper lift, Project Dylan has a different theme, Project Dylan is made by Gerstlauer. So, just to re-inforce, yes Oblivion may be short, but its thrilled millions of people since its opening day on March 14th 1998. It is isn't losing its magic, and just as Tom and Chaz said - you can't compare it to Project Dylan.

We know where the battery should be, but it isn't there. It could be the battery has finally died.Maybe Thorpe should've used a Duracell battery - they last longer, much longer
  5. What a b***h. Why can't she just bugger off? Alton Towers have been there for a lot longer than a stupid old lady who grows roses
  6. I understand, but a B&M Sitting coaster wouldn't be totally crap even though it would probably stand in the shadow of Colossus. A lot of parks have more than one sitting coaster, like Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain etc.

I, like most people believe that X:\No Way Out's time is up at Thorpe, but none-the-less I think it is a great ride even if it doesn't suit the Lost City. Can I have my name on my medal???

Not really - I actually love this ride. And that would be the first *rumour* (or so you say) I've ever posted

Probably just a dummy being replacedOr.... its the first sign of the end of X:\No Way Out's life at Thorpe.
  10. Then take pot-shots at it with fireworks!
  11. The Pizza Hut sign next to Nemesis Inferno...
  12. OK, didn't know it was used for that much, although I knew it had toilets. So, in essence, I guess it will stay.
  13. I think it should be moved too - its doing nothing for the park, and it is butt-ugly because it hasn't had maintainance for a while now, but Thorpe aren't going to waste money on fixing it so why not just move it (probably because that would cost money too I guess)

Which is why a Huss Top-Spin is the single most stupid and pointless idea for a new ride at Thorpe - Chessington and Alton both have perfectly good Top-Spins. I'm pretty sure Merlin won't waste money on one when they could have not only a more thrilling ride, but a more unique one.
  15. Now that I think about it I can't really remember where , its just something that stuck in the back of my mind ever since Pirates 4D moved, as I preffered it to Time Voyagers.
  16. I hear that Pirates 4D was being re-located to Alton, so that it could be used in their new sector, Mutiny Bay. Along with Battle Galleons and other such piratey stuff

And Slammer seems to balance the two themes of Lost City and Canada Creek (of which Slammer is directly between), the imposing brown of Canada Creek and the majestic gold of the Lost City

    Nemesis

Usually when you travel through a Corkscrew, you exit slightly to the left or right of your entrance. B&M call them 'Wing-Overs' to avoid ambiguityA Zero-G Roll is an In-line Twist but manages to pull zero g's due the hump in the middle of it. In-line Twists don't have a hump, they traverse in a straight line. Think of a Zero-G Roll (both Nemesis and Nemesis Inferno's 2nd inversion) as a cross between an In-line Twist and an Air-Time Hill.

Yeah, the first ever Sky-Swat was in S&S' Playground, does anyone know why that one has closed, because it makes Slammer the only Sky-Swat in the world

    Slammer

Why? I think it is extremely under-estimated, its a lot more extreme than it appears to be, as all it does is flip you upside down at a great height. Its the G-Force and the free-fall experience that you feel while you do so, and the last backwards swing is amazing because it rises over the top really slowly so you have to push yourself into your seat as all the blood rushes to your head.
  21. OK, I'm re-converted; Theme Park bloke made a good arguement and I totally agree to how ugly the Octopus Gardens are, I'm not saying they should go, just move them somewhere less central, somewhere that if you want to navigate across the park, you don't have to negotiate getting around these pathetic little things that are completely dwarfed by the (in comparison) gargantuan rides behind them like Rush and Colossus
  22. Dunno why but everytime I hear the Flying Fish's announcements I think 'Hippie' rather than 'Surfer Dude'
