I have got 3 family rooms booked at the T5 Travelodge as booking earlier means we save money nearer the time and I know that with the popularity of this event those rooms will likely get filled So in terms of staying over recovering from the ministry of sound rooms are sorted - if more people need one closer to the time I'll book another or you can sort yourselves out. Either way I don't mind
  2. Hey all you maniacs So you are still all updated on the going one of this trip - the initial group now have their flights and hotel booked. If you still want to come though please do not fret! We still have available beds in the hotel rooms that have been booked up and with the flight details I am about to give you - you can choose if you want to book the flights yourself or get me to do it on your behalf (or you may make your own arrangements as I know a couple might drive) But if you need the details we fly out from gatwick to Basel on Friday 27th May at 14:25 and arrive at 17:00 The group flys back from Basel to gatwick on Monday 30th may at 21:40 arriving back at 22:10 For rose choosing seats and want to be with us we are on rows 12 and 13 Looking forward to seeing you all there

  4. Good afternoon all of you wonderful people! Thorpe Park have released their Ministry of Sound dates earlier this year which means I'm very excited to officially announce plans for our Derren Brown's Ministry Of Sound Meet at Thorpe Park! The date of the event is Saturday 23rd July 2016. The reason why I called this one the Derren Brown meet and not the opening one - Is that I've heard in the wind in won't be open by that meet - But I hope that won't be the case. There will be 4 parts to this meet - Thorpe Park during the day and trying out the Derren Brown: Ghost Train Attraction and a picnic afterwards that can be enjoyed by everyone and the clubbing event & Overnight stay to try out the Shark Hotel in the evening which is unfortunately over 18's only! (Or if your me T5 Travelodge ) We will also be extending our hand to the Towers Nerds & Towers Street, in the hope of another great joint meet, by coming down south to join us for the event. This is a fantastic opportunity to socialise with our northern counterparts and to show that the enthusiast community spreads further than one forum. The Outline of the day will be as follows: Meet by the annual pass entrance at 09:30 am by the cash machine just on the off chance the gates could possibly open earlier than advertised such as last year. As soon as the gates open we will go into the park, if by any chance you happen to miss this meet point due to travel arrangements or just plain lateness you can either phone or text so we can arrange to meet you or . This first part of the morning we will make the most of the quiet park and churn out those rides. Please bear in mind we will leave without you if you are late as it’s not fair on time keepers! As members have found out! We will then continue visiting the attractions and it will be arranged beforehand that we will try our best to get on all the attractions.. I know not everyone will want to do some of the rides at THORPE PARK. If you decide to not come on please be polite and wait for everyone to come off and chat to other members whilst you are waiting. Or go off and do another attraction as long as you’ll be back after the group has finished riding the attraction. Please respect other people’s wishes who wish to ride certain things that you yourself may not be too keen with. During the day, around half 1, we will stop for a bite to eat where you can go and eat where you like and we will arrange where to meet after everyone has finished eating. (Who knows we might all want to eat the same thing anyway ) After lunch we will group together for the Official Group Photo for the meet and continue going round the park and riding the attractions people want to do until the park closes. There will be another meeting point at 8 pm on the bridge for those coming to the Ministry of Sound If you can't handle the park during the day I will be handing out my phone number for everyone who is attending the meet that day, should there be any problems. We aim to stay together as a group for the day, going from one activity to the next, enjoying getting to know people you share very similar interests with, the idea is to just go with the flow and enjoy the day with some awesome people. There will be many photo’s in the day being taken and the possibility of a few video clips. Whilst we cannot force you to stay with the group, it is the general purpose of these meets! You will have my number (and some of the senior teams) if you become split so by all means use it. The meets are a fantastic laugh and everyone is invited, even if you have never posted before or been to any kind of meet at all. If it's your first meet, I understand it can be nerve breaking - but we were all there at one point so know how it feels, please don't let this stop you from attending - Once there you'll be part of the group in no time! Just look at the past trips this year! Once again, everyone will have my phone number so please use it on the day If anyone has any issues or concerns or even nervous about coming, feel free to post here, or PM myself and I will get back to you as soon as possible.   5. Good Afternoon all of you wonderful people! I'm very excited to officially announce plans for our Alton Towers & Waterpark TPM Meet 2016! The date of the event is the weekend of Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th June 2016 but as usual you decide the date! As you can see it's the whole weekend! Which gives you a choice - come on the Saturday, come on the Sunday or stay the whole weekend! Please take note if you plan to stay with us overnight, it will be your responsibility to book your own rooms and unfortunately if your under 18 we cannot help you with this! If you were to stay the night - under no circumstances will TPM get involved and take responsibility with how you stay overnight, as for the overnight section of the trip will be an over 18's event.. We will however like to see you during the day at the park. Also this meet the Tower Nerds/ Street community are more than welcome to join us for the event. This is a fantastic opportunity to socialise with our northern counterparts and to show that the enthusiast community spreads further than one forum. This event will also be introducing a new game for the meets called 'Knockout.' I believe it will be in the same league as Spooning & Empire which have proved extremely popular.   6. Right the weekend Europa Park will be taking place is the Bank Holiday Weekend of Saturday 28th - Monday 30th May 2016! This weekend and the August bank holiday weekend and other dates in August have tied but as a member wanted to change their vote it puts the winning weekend up to 9 votes. So we can take advantage of cheaper flights I will be contacting all those who have shown interest very soon to start getting the arrangements for this sorted.
  7. Right voting for having all the meet dates set out at the beginning of the year has just edged it onto winning. However there are also a number of people who would still like to vote for availability. Soooooooooooo to make a good compromise I will be setting up the dates of the meet to vote really far in advance and will be putting up the next meet when the previous one has been voted for (Also I find it a good indication for who is interested in particular meets)

  10. Enough! Please keep discussion to Alton Towers rather than which appears to be another dig at Jamie. If you find there is hypocrisy or annoyance in another member here then please take that to private chat or ignore rather than bring the discussion down in the thread. It saddens me that there are people taking part who should know better and be giving an example rather than encourage it
  11. As a couple of people have come to me suggesting other ways how the meets are organised - to ensure the planning of it stays fresh with current needs I have set up a poll for you to vote in. Any comments for it please reply to this topic
  12. I understand there were budget cuts but as I don't know what was cut for a UK attraction I think it was done bloody well alright after all I don't expect universal/ Disney standards over here. In terms of what is offered in the UK then we'll done chessington for a budget cut ride Just looking back on some people comments it appears from my point of view that people class a major investment as a roller coaster... Yes they are nice but there are other things which can be used more creatively with a major budget too in my eyes
  13. I would class Zufari as a major investment and with it being something different to the UK and with their zoo/ theme park model and that attraction combining the two - I personally think that was a very good move for a large investment
  14. We will try our best and going to guess from Gatwick. However we will get dates sorted first and then those really interested I'll be talking to those on a more informative detail to sort out the finer things etc
  15. We used to get ERT events here at TPM but as time has moved on and with Thorpe Park taking on a different business model, these events are now paid for. These cans till be arranged but there are no current plans for any ERT's this year. This however does not mean it won't happen! Will be good to see you at a meet, we love a new face and people seem to blend in quite quickly with the great group of people we have at meets these days
  16. Good Afternoon all of you wonderful people! It's finally here and I'm very excited to officially announce plans for our Second European trip and this time to Europa Park! The date of the event is the Bank Holiday Weekend of Saturday 28th - Monday 30th May 2016! As voted by you. As you can see it's set for 3 days! This is due to the extent of the trip and with the amount on offer at Europa Park its been recommended that you have 3 days on site so you're not rushing - I have provisionally set it for a bank holiday so the majority do not need to book work off. If you cannot do 3 days other alternatives will be arranged for you! Please take note if you plan to stay with us overnight, it will be your responsibility to book your own rooms/ flights and unfortunately if your under 18 we cannot help you with this! If you were to come under no circumstances will TPM get involved and take responsibility with your stay, and if you did go you would also need written permission from a guardian just for the sake of border control! This trip has been set in mind as an over 18's event. I understand some of you may be disappointed about this but due to the meet being outside the country it complicates matters too much! As this is the largest scale of a meet TPM has ever attempted some advanced planning for those who are interested and want to go will need to take place. I will help you as much as I can with groupings and questions and answers about the trip and I will go into much further detail on this with those who want to go. Depending on your circumstances some may have to pay some money up front to their 'group leader' so things can get booked. In total Flights, Accommodation, Park Tickets, Food & Spending Money for the whole trip I predict will be in the region of £300-450 (Depending on your spending money levels ) The Outline of the day/s will be as follows (Prices rough estimate of provisional date): Please take note the outline for travelling and hotels is just a guide - things will be confirmed with those who are going. If you decide to come after we've made initial bookings I will tell you what to do to still be able to join us. As this is a guide it does not mean this is how you will travel as you may make your own arrangements! Friday Night Flight from Gatwick to Basel. We will then make our way to Rust where the majority of the accommodation near Europa Park is. Once we arrive we will enjoy our first night in Germany. Rough Flight Costs will be between £80-£100. Tickets for Europa Park for 1 day in 2016 is 45 Euros and 84 for a 2 day ticket. 180 for a season ticket. 3 days will therefore be in-between that but will be no more than £100 for 3 day park ticket Meet At the entrance to Europa park at 08:30 am. This will give people a chance to sort out their tickets. We will ensure during the day for those who may want to sort out an annual pass that you will get the chance in the day as the rest can watch a show around the park. Please bear in mind we will leave without you if you are late as it’s not fair on time keepers!   18. May I introduce to you Celia Mae onto the meet organising team Meets have been growing and it's getting to the point I need help and Emily has shown great interest in how they are run. She's organised and from a military background I'm sure she'll keep us in check at meets! As people know from the meets Going forward they'll be gaps in my meet planning to allow others to fill those slots and see how they work out to ensure the meets future. Plus new ideas keep things fresh. I'll still be on the lookout for other people who are interested in organising meets going forward as that type of help in the future will be more needed down the line So I hope everyone is wishing for the best like me in Celia Mae's new role at the meets.
  19. All personal problems with members please come to me or someone else in the admin/ mod team to rant out your anger and we will do our best to help. I understand we all get passionate and get caught in the moment when it comes to feelings and frustrations, but this forum has grown a lot in the last few years (community wise) and incidents like this happen a lot less than in the past in my opinion which shows the forum is growing in maturity. So let's put this to bed. I will be contacting all those who have been 'affected' last night and sort this out. But personal rants on here publicly STOP NOW. However you may continue to vent your frustrations to me personally. If after my post I see anything relating to the above incident I will issue you a warning (If you find this unfair - tough) and so the next posts on this topic I expect to be totally unrelated.
  20. See this is something that has been brought up in the past - however we don't think there is enough demand to make it. Of course I can be proved wrong and I know there are some members who have wanted some but don't know if there is enough to warrant it....
  21. It's no where near as good as Dreams NOOOOOOOoooooooooo but it was a great show against a building with some fancy lights and it reminded me of a very cheap version of Dreams. Quite impressive really according this is only a 4 day event!
  22. IMO it fits perfectly being on a theme park site I went last night and what I saw at Kings Cross was very lovely to look at. On one of the buildings they had a 'Circus of light' show which me and Michelle both thought would of fitted quite perfectly to a closing show at a Theme Park. Like a right dumbed down version of dreams - Perfect for a Merlin Park
