  1. I went on eclipse once and it was very boring IMO, It got knocked down to build rush and that was a bloody good discission! :(

Knocked down indeed. It was dismantled and shipped to Chessington. I only went on Eclipse once at Thorpe Park, towards the end of the 2004 season, and I remember it got very windy up the top!
  2. There's one thing I dont get about this evacuation - why did it get halfway up the lift hill before the the all-important big red button was hit? Why didn't they finish off one round, close it and investigate the problem? Yes, top marks to the park for getting the problem resolved in an hour, but thumbs down for letting get halfway up the lift hill before evacuating.

  3. The trains will go in the direction towards the car park, then round a corner, down the small vertical drop into the trench, into a helix, through the inline twist and out round to the lift hill. This video is the nearest recreation I've seen. Clicky

So basically, you come out of the station, turn one way, and descend back underneath it to start your journey? From the Developer Diary: As you look from Colossus Bridge, the track inside the station building is starting to disappear; the cladding is being fixed on the sides of the steel structure and the roof has been scaffold out and the sheets have started to go on. The main entrance into the building, the stairs up to the platform and its steel work have also begun to be installed…and soon it won’t be long until it’s all covered and you won’t see it again until you face your fears in 2009.Cool! This could be a wickedly themed station. It's a good thing blood and guts is something I like.
  4. The audio needs to be louder in the area again, you only really can hear it at the entrance and in the station now. It really does add a lot to the atmosphere and needs loudness again.

It'd be impossible to hear the audio in the queueline when the ride is roaring around all the time. Inferno is the same, at only the station and entrance. The one noise I love about Nemesis is the first corkscrew after descent, you listen to the "clonk" it makes as it goes through it.
  5. Corkscrew's last day made it onto BBC News, and according to a bloke responsible for shutting down Corkscrew, a false leg and underpants are just the beginning of a long list of things lost on the ride in almost 30 years. Yep, they've found this stuff!Ugh.

  6. there was lots of activity at Stealth yesterday with the staff all positive about it opening, then they started testing it at around 3ish.Several successful cycles then after about 20 minutes it stopped at the top and rolled back. The staff then announced the testing was not going as planned and the fault was still present and it would not reopen that evening.

On Sunday Stealth didn't even test-run once, which surprised me. I was there from 12:00pm, so I dunno about the morning...?
  7. Saturday may have been the second-to-last day of the season but top marks to Thorpe for getting it sorted. Mind you, it does seem a little bumpy on the descent, when heading into the loop. This has been the case for a while now.Is this Colossus's first ever evacuation off a lift hill, and has Nemmie ever had any?

  8. Right, time for another rant:I hate nosy drivers. Being a pedestrian as well as a driver, I walk here, there and everywhere. And it really does get on your tits when your typical white van man driver will look at you like filth when he's driving past you. They like stare at you for 5 seconds flat, not concentrating on their driving, and this is when they don't even know you. Or even if you have stopped to tie your shoe lace up or something, they're still nosy and have a good stare! If they give me a look like that and have their window open, I tell 'em where to get off.Another thing that annoys me is speedy drivers who will come towards you at a dangerously high speed when you're crossing a road. They even do it at lights and don't slow quick enough, even though they eventually do stop in time. Sometimes I walk across the road slower than I generally walk, just to annoy the speedy drivers.I don't rush across a road for anyone, cars, vans or HGV's.

  9. Last night was the best Chessington party I've ever been to and I am so sad that a lot of them I'll never work with again. Whenever you say you work at a theme park all people ask you is what is it like working on the rides. They are fun but like everything in life it is always about the people. This year I'm so upset to be leaving all the friends I've made.So yeah.. me is :P

So where are you going to work now?
  10. Having seen the latest update of the station construction, I'm now confused. Is the station going to be raised, like Nemesis Inferno, or on the ground? Because if it is going to be raised, will the queueline go under the station in that huge trench they dug out for the station?

  11. There's only one way we're gonna know if Samurai has gone back to Mondial for a retheme during the closed season. With or without it's pods, Samurai's resting position, as we know, is with the turquoise arm sticking up in the air. Sometimes you can see the back end of the arm poking out through the trees, from the car park! It's that noticeable! Sometimes during the closed season, you can drive into Thorpe's car park during the day (I have managed to). If you go near the shingle car park and near the lake (directly opposite Vortex) you may get a good view.
