  1. I have a rant about Oyster. I bought one on my birthday this year, 12th May. I was charged about £2 from the £10 for some admin fee or whatever the damn thing was, and I was told I could get this refunded online. I then caught a bus and swiped it, and when it pulled in a bus stop, there was an advertisement stating that this small charge I had been charged was effective as of 17th May, 5 days after my birthday. I did attempt to get this charge back but didn't succeed.Oyster = slimey.
  2. It's a flamin' good job that Thorpe got rid of the Beanoland advertisement as you exit the bridge a few years back.I may go to the park on the 20th. I see the goodbye event starts at 5pm, so will it be open as normal until 5pm? If it is, I may go in for a wander and a ride, depending on how busy it is, but not stay for the goodbye event.
  3. I was browsing the net and stumbled across this awesome coaster - Storm Runner, located at Hersheypark, Pennsylvania.Click the following links:Brilliant pictures from Theme Park review.comBrilliant pictures from RCDB.comObviously, on RCDB, click the Facts tab at the top for more information. But this ride looks incredible, launching on 0-72mph in 2 seconds, a 150ft high top hat, an immelmann, heartline roll and flying snake dive.I better get across the pond!
  4. I did to:A: Keep going and not stop (get there ASAP)B: Not get ripped off at motorway services.I did drink 2 bottles of Ribena on the way, and by the time I left the M1 and joined the A50, I had one hand on the wheel, and the other...well, down there. I arrived at my destination, and sprinted into a nearby restaurant to use the facilities! That'll teach me!
  5. That's excellent! Like the real thing.
  6. To clarify your response, I enter through the turnstiles at 9:00am and head down to the end of/bottom of Towers Street. Then I flash my pass at the staff at the chains and they let me through to anywhere in the park.I am guessing that when ERT ends at 10, you just continue as normal and the rides will get busier with more normal guests filtering in? I'm under the impression that the roadworks on the M1 are now finished, yet there are some on the M25 around Heathrow, so the approach to the M1 could be interesting.I'm from Surrey. Usually it takes me about 3 hours to get to Alton Towers, this includes stops. When I went last October the roadworks on the M1 were still there. From joining the M25 at Leatherhead, without any stops, it took me 2 hours and 20 minutes to get to Uttoxeter.Easy. This journey was on a Saturday morning, with me leaving at 6:00am.
  7. True. But I was wondering if they'd extended Beanoland's time by 3 weeks because Chessington realised how much inconvenience the powercuts had caused to guests, and they realised these guests might come back within days or weeks? Therefore Beanoland would still be open for the returners.
  8. I meant, this is wrong as in it shouldn't happen at all! It shouldn't work like this!
  9. It broke down on your first ride? Bad luck. I had a similar experience on my first ride, I went to queue for it, and it broke down.
  10. I know it's been changed, but was it because of the recent powercuts?
  11. I'm an Annual Pass holder and would mind an ERT. So what do I do, just turn up at the gates as normal at 9:00am, and I'll be let in?
  12. Has the Beanoland remaining time been extended because of the recent power cuts? A sort of compensation to guests perhaps?
  13. This is wrong. Surely, with the amount of people that filter through Vampire, some normal queuers can get on the back row? It takes the biscuit. This never happened when I started going regularly back in 2003.
  14. Like I've already said...: Not offensive at all, you're talking sense mate. Here's a guy who understands me.People go so over-the-top about getting wet. Don't they know what happens when they step into a bath or shower?
  15. Who is she?And I am the only one to think that Peaches Geldof is looking fine these days?
  16. Just wait till she streaks naked through the house next year, like she said she'd do. That programme is so awful. It's not the eyeball-eating and stuff, it's the programme in general I hate!Anyway, back to Big Brother, and the show's axe couldn't have come at a better time IMO. It could've come a few years before but I for one am glad to see it beign axed. Series 1 and about a quarter of series 2 (I saw the finals for both), and this years' series are the only ones I haven't watched. It's the final tonight and I'll watch that for the hell of it.
  17. It wasn't open at about 2:30pm and 5:00pm when I tried to queue for it. And in between these times and after 5:00pm it did not launch once.
  18. Let me make things clearer - I am wearing no plastic covering or bin liners on water rides!
