  1. Yes, sometimes, after a ride has been down for a few days, the first day it's back in operation, it usually opens later. Or it can depend on the type of ride.
  2. Maybe it's the floor that's playing up? Has that ever gone wrong? If the floor electric or hydraulically powered? And does the bar at the front lower with it, or is that a seperate source of power to lower that? They should put a sign on that bar with an intense message to read, just before you set off!
  3. No one has said it as far as I'm aware. But if I see someone ask this question in the next session of "Questions to Thorpe Park" forum, I'll be disappointed.
  4. metallicacurved hat/cap front or flat?
  5. Nice and sunny at the moment! Hot too!
  6. Yes, that does happen. Differenty staff members operate Slammer's queue differently.
  7. You are correct. I have discussed this here before on the forum, and in a nutshell, preventing rollbacks is impossible, no matter what they do to Stealth. Tweak it, change the wheels, balance levelling - whatever, a rollback is still possible. If Thorpe think rollbacks are a thing of the past then they need to get their heads out of the clouds and see reality. They will happen. I know Stealth don't want them to happen ever, but it's impossible.I apologise for getting on my high horse about this, but it's something the park need to understand.Thorpe think they've got problems. Ha! Just think of poor old Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster across the pond.
  8. It was a September last year I saw it roll back, that's nearly a year.
  9. I have had a second attempt and I can't find an extended coaster in the list! Argh!
  10. Yeah, they don't let you through the wooden gate.
  11. One train hasn't been used for months though, because it's the "rollback train" - not sure which one it is?
  12. So, the blazing Inferno has gone out for the first time this season...
  13. You must be kidding? The year Thorpe finally gets them sorted, you give up? Brakes? They do get a lot of use, they're so powerful. Sometimes I jump out of my seat slightly into the restraint, as it brakes.
  14. That chute runs water for about half the season, and the other half it doesn't. We don't know that Tidal Wave has a problem though - it may be closed for essential work, even though the ride is running like clockwork.
  15. Eric Cantona.Plain or omlette or mushroom?
  16. That is good, I hate seeing a train in bits. I wanna get hold of the artwork on the wall in the station as you exit! It's cool!
  17. And fatal!A few years ago now I was standing outside Vortex near that circular tower thing that people sit on (near Zodiac entrance and hotdog bar). The ride was in action and all of a sudden a can of coke came flying off, right past this circular tower, and landed straight about 5 metres away from land, into the lake, making a few ducks "take off". I have also seen a packet of cigarettes drop off the ride and land on the ground - but what use is an empty packet to me? :lol:Anyone seen anything drop off Saw's main drop? I saw a hat within the first month.
  18. The lift hill conveyors are pretty new and grippy, if they were worn then that would be a hazard. Those boats are heavy too, so it sits on the conveyor nicely.
  19. Another thing people are forgetting that this time last year Rush had not long been open after it's incident in May/June '08. Fortunately, incidents such as those don't occur often at the park, but even so, nothing like that has happened this season so far.

Dreamkitty, I don't wanna ruin your day, but if you don't like the look of the Fish, then is there really any point in going to Thorpe Park? Vortex, Rush, Slammer, Detonator and Samurai - these are all intense thrill rides where you have to really hold on, and the amount of people I have seen scared on them is unreal. You really do have to be prepared and know what you're in for before getting on these rides, plus others. I once hated most rides at Thorpe but I overcame it all, and now, because of the amount of times I go on these rides, handling these against the G-forces is very easy. These days I consider riding rollercoasters and thrill rides part of my everyday life, even though I don't do it every single day.
  21. Hmm, that gives me an idea. Has anyone here got a home cinema system where they watch movies with speakers placed all around the room? Imagine the music on that! There used to be a time where the speakers in both tunnels performed perfectly. They still perform OK today but I feel it's got worse, as the music bounces off the walls so much in such a small area, it just sounds awful. They need to be turned down just a bit.
