  1. Are the spanish parks that bad? I've been to port aventura with school a decade ago (furous bako was the new ride) I remember enjoying it but that could be the great spanish weather informing my opinion. The only park I would really wanna go to is Lightwater Valley but likewise, it's he other end of england.
  2. Not sure why I felt the need to post this tbh. The thought suddenly hit me. I lurk a here lot for some bizarre reason but the last time I actually visited a theme park was ~5 years ago, that being Thorpe Park. I have not visited Chessington for almost 10 years and Alton in over a decade. I live a bus ride away from london winter wonder land but can never be bothered to visit. I got into theme parks around 15 years ago. As a child, my parents would take me at least once a year to one of the tussauds parks and enjoyed those times very much. Nowadays, with the rising admission prices and crucially, what you get for that price. I just cannot justify going to theme parks for another decade or so. Does anyone else here feel the same way?

    Logger's Leap

Never gonna happen. Things need to change for the sake of progress and as "The nations thrill capital" something had to make way. Just weird they took so long with the announcement and with no future plans for the area in mind. If I could have it my way. I would like to see them install a coaster that interacts with natural habitat. Perhaps follows the route of logger leap with some deviations to the layout.
  4. Nothing new about the Aldi ads in the queue, I recall over a decade ago when every queue with a telly had that bloody muller yogurt advert constantly.

By the sounds of it, seems like Thorpe are looking to bulldoze the entire area to install something new in the future. Shame they've had to lie for years about the status of Loggers. Obviously I'm just guessing but seeing as it's one of the oldest parts of the park. They must be looking into what can replace the area. There's only Canada Creek and the space behind Swarm that can have developments built upon, (unless Rumba get removed in the near future).
  6. There is money, tons of it. They are the second biggest entertainments company in the world after all. Too busy maximizing profits.

    Wicker Man

worlds first coaster to incorporate wood and fire?
  8. I personally believe it's due to Thorpe being stingy and understaffed. According to Lord Sambrooke, Thorpe are using staff in some of their scare attractions instead of actors/people paid specifically for fright nights. Also correct me if I'm wrong but do thorpe still have staff dotted around rumba to deter people messing around? I guess Thorpe don't like the idea of operating a rapids in the dark when they can't trust members of the public from dicking about.
  9. Doesn't help that Melin have a complete stranglehold on the London area, where a vast number of the population live and the majority of tourists are visiting. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?oe=UTF8&msa=0&ie=UTF8&mid=1paY13gdMrhs9c8mWGV_e7L_SGMg&ll=53.04026223649208%2C-1.7575460000000476&z=7
  10. @Mark9 Can you blame us though? Especially when we look at the continent to a park like Phantasia land and they build new rides with original IP's or even in the case of Europa Park when they rebuild a classic ride after a disaster. Call it jealousy but it is a shame to think that the UK was KILLING it in the 90's.
  11. Cannot agree more. Wouldn't the profits be far higher if chessie just created their own IP?
  12. probably never. Shame really as there's that large green field behind dragons fury that can be a whole new area. also, it annoys me when companies do this type of marketing when they name drop their own IP's. If they were that cherished, why did you rip them out?
  13. What happened mate? By the way you described it, it sounds like you got into an altercation with a member of the public. I'm aware that chavs roam free at merlin parks but it's easy to ignore them and carry on with your day.
  14. How long you guys think Vampire has got left? Personally I think it has 2/3 more years left. Most Arrow suspended Coasters had a life of around 25 years, Vampires in its 28th year. Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens was removed after 25 years and that looked like a better maintained coaster than Vampire. Will it take a horrific accident for Chessington to start thinking of its removal?

Back of the seats on vampire tell you not to rest your feet on the seat in front. no ones broken their knees so far. As for what I'd like to see replace Loggers would be a new log flume, a longer one at that.
  16. C'mon Archive, give them some credit. They did eventually sync up the music in the fairground scene...... after 6/7 years of it being broken.
  17. This is so exploitative. Look, we all know about theme parks and the changes that have occurred but the average person may not. Some people may not even know that the re theme occurred at the end of '05, so to advertise this whole closing down and backstage tours as one thing when it's obviously not must go against some consumer rights. Must come under false advertisement surely. Some of you may think I'm being pedantic with all this negativity but considering the seasons they've had in recent years I feel they are now just exploiting peoples trust and naivety. Like I said previously, Merlin see no worth in this park anymore, milk all they can until numbers get so low then they'll sell it off.
  18. I personally think they are doing this to get a surge of punters through gates for the end of the season to get their last rides in on the bubbleworks. It almost worked with my family. Mum: Did you hear that bubbleworks is closing? We gotta go to chessington to get our last rides in. Me: Well, according to a source online, the ride will stay virtually the same bar some new theming along with a new IP Mum: So they're not actually removing the ride? No point going now. In recent years, I really just want chessington removed altogether. I cannot see any improvement made to the theme park side of it and believe that it would be better off as a zoo through and through but as long as tourists and naive families turn up, it will continue to make money despite the gradual increase in customer dissatisfaction.
  19. That's brilliant news. Always loved dark rides and all the concepts and ideas that go with 'em. Although I did ride the haunted house when it was still knocking about my "home turf" is chessington so the bubbleworks and 5th dimension parts should really overload my brain with useful pub knowledge.
  20. bet he was happy to see that footage go up, maybe happier in the pants area whats the project then ey?
  21. And remarkably good audio to boot! I'd only found this beaut recently. does anyone know what happened to hauntedone?
  22. 43:39 is where you wanna be, by far the best footage to have ever surfaced. Thank me later.
  23. Only 15 times but most people work there, is it nice to work there?
