Hi everyone, Halloween is coming up and that means we will be holding the annual TPM Thorpe Park Fright Nights meet. Based on a poll the date of the event has been set to Saturday 13th October 2018. Please message or reply below if you plan on attending even if you voted in the poll. The event will take place over the whole day as the park will be open 10am - 10pm, with horror mazes from 3PM. Below is the provisional plan for the day: Park opening - Meet in the dome 10:15 - Start making way around the rides 1:30ish - Lunch 2:30 - Meet back up and start making way to first maze choice. 3:30 onwards - More mazes and rides in the dark until close (maybe another stop for food later if people hungry) The meets are great fun and everyone is invited, even if you have never posted before or even been to a meet at all. If it's your first meet, I understand it can be nerve breaking - but we were all there once before, so all know the feeling, please don't let this stop you from attending. Once you are there you'll be part of the group in no time at all! Everyone attending will have my number or be a part of a FB messenger group. Oh dear, it really is not Europa Parks year! Glad no injuries, and bet they have these trains repaired/replaced in a week!

Hey all, Due to the change in leading these meets this has obviously meant a change in the calendar for 2018. As a result of the change the calendar will also change: September abroad trip will no longer take place (this year anyway) October - TPM Fright Nights Meet December - TPM Christmas Meet A provisional 2019 calendar will come around November time. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for information on the Fright Nights meet. Matt

I made a return visit two weeks after we went and it was quieter, but still not too quiet and a good atmosphere. Like you I don't think it seemed to be massively busier than previous years and the week I went saw two days extended until 8pm but also two days where it shut early at 5pm, showing a very mixed week. I guess we will have to wait and see when profit reports are released. Last time round they made £1 million after tax: https://www.insidermedia.com/insider/northwest/revenue-rises-at-blackpool-pleasure-beach I think the problem is lack of advertising out of the area. There were tonnes of signs all over Blackpool but I have not seen anything down south and haven't seen any advert on TV once.

This looks like a great dive coaster, including a vertical loop (first on a dive coaster?) Glad they are keeping the swinging coaster too. I wouldn't worry about second half looking dull as the first section is actually of a decent length. It's a bit like swarm with the final turn after a set of brakes.

Agreed! But absolutely dire on Nemesis Inferno, with almost 4 minute dispatches several times!

Had a front row ride on Vampire today, wasn't really rough at all, just the back and forth little bit of jolting on a couple of points after second lift.

The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure

Can confirm after today's visit that the fountains are now working once again. -
Is there any official set ride availability over the evening sessions? Several evenings during the 10pm closes including today most flat rides have shut early, leaving just coasters, Detonator, Dodgems, Tidal, storm surge and flying fish open. Yet when I asked Thorpe Park they assured me all rides open till 10pm except I'm a celeb, living nightmare, zombie hunt, and old town rides closing at 6pm and Rumba at sunset. It seems to have been fairly inconsistent, as last Saturday most rides were open until the very end. I am guessing it is purely based on crowd levels?

Well hopefully it will be gone next year! A lot of people seem to be thinking it will.

VR wasn't being used at all last Friday, resulting in a quick and efficiently run ride, and with trains being dispatched quickly, the lift hill slowed down like Air days. What was interesting was no notice of it the VR being unavailable at the entrance, nor did the two members of staff in the queue say anything. Despite VR being unavailable, I did not hear a single person moan it was without VR,. Guess it's not so popular after all!

Yes I noticed this last Saturday, the fire truck caught some people off guard. Was nice to see, let's hope they remain back, as earlier in season they were working and lasted less than a week!
-
Yep, that is exactly what I thought!
-
I haven't seen them working this year, they looked like they were in a bit of a state and neglected again last time I went on TW.

100% Pizza Pasta. It has improved massively last few years and love the bbq pizzas that you don't seem to be able to get in other Merlin Pizza Pastas. I can actually fill myself up for a decent price and not feel like I want more, as often happens if I have a standard meal in other places.

That one is £8 for 12 hours. So again much cheaper and basically on the doorstep!
-
Why does anyone pay that anyway when you can park completely free on the roads opposite big blue hotel? It's a ten minute walk from the park, closer than the Alton Towers car park is from the entrance for comparison.
-
It hasn't done the two for a couple of seasons now. Let's just be grateful it is still running as I genuinely thought Rameses would go before Ripsaw.

Very good atmosphere on park tonight and nice to see a good crowd level well into the evening. I hope that this continues and the event deemed a success to make it continue into future seasons. The park wide dance/pop music worked really well for the event and made it good fun. During last hour both Stealth and Swarm were delayed 15 - 20 mins while second trains removed (not sure about other coasters), but most rides stayed open from what I saw. Samurai, quantum and old town kids rides unavailable all evening and I'm a celeb/zombie hunt/living nightmare advertised as closing at 6pm.

Nice to finally see big plates in Pizza Pasta. Guess thats the end of the "plates get smaller every year tradition" Have to also say the pizza was extra delicious this evening!

Had a great evening at Thorpe Park, but kind of frustrating that you get on only two rides in last hour as they want to take off the second train on all the coasters. Defeats the whole object of supposedly getting in lots of rides in last hour. The queues were 10 - 15 mins on two trains, so wasn't like it was completely empty. I feel for the staff with this too as Swarm still had probably a 20 - 30 minute queue at ten with only one train, meaning they wouldn't finish as quickly as if it was left on two. Nemesis Inferno was painfully slow this evening with trains regularly dispatching at 3 and half to 4 minute intervals. Good job that was on two trains whilst I queued!

I was in the car park as they all arrived and naturally everyone assumed another ride had "crashed". Hope that the lady was OK.

OK fair play I take that back seeing as I can see fantasy Island, Chessington and towers already promoting fright nights. Let's hope something is mentioned soon.
