  1. I don't know what was wrong but would like to say that in my opinion Nemesis Inferno is the most reliable coaster at THORPE PARK. I visit many times a year and apart from one visit this year when it briefly shutdown for about 30 minutes the only time I have ever seen anything go wrong was way back in its first year when a car was stuck at the top of the lift hill for several weeks.

I like queuing inside. But what I don't understand is that some visits we queue for quite a bit inside and other times I queue outside and they let a small amount through at a time? Does it just depend who is at the door? There is one nice thing about the "tatty" outside queue, you can sit down easily!!!
  3. Wouldn't it be longer than double the time if it is one train because when on two train operation the other car is loading whilst the other is on the track meaning once the first train is back at the break run the second one is just about to be dispatched. But when on one train you have to wait for it to come all the way back before loading again. So wouldn't one train operation be around three times the time of two train operation. (Sorry if this makes no sense)
  4. Ok thanks for the extra info.
  5. Great trip reports, thanks for sharing the trip with us, I'm looking forward to more.I have always wanted to go Europa Park, maybe I will get to go soon.

    Slammer

No idea but It would make sense that it is awaiting a part as people are commenting nothing is being done to the ride. This happened before and it took about 6 weeks for them to recieve the part and then it was fixed fairly quickly.
  7. Project link is the name of the park wide audio system and Ricky is basically saying the Amity (Yes WWTP Radio) side of the system was playing up. When it plays up it has been known to cut out completely in places, crackle like a loose connection or play completely different ride themes. For example last year Stealth was playing Pirates 4D on one of my visits and Samurai the Colossus Theme.

    Slammer

http://media.musicofmerlin.com/thorpe/canadacreek/slammer/slammer_theme.mp3The above has been the Slammer theme since 2007 (or 2008 if I'm wrong). I prefer this to the previous theme, however I didn't at first.
  9. Totally agree, it is very annoying, the courtyard area seems very wasted.
  10. Little Ken - Heide Park was owned by Tussauds from around the year 2000. Wooden Coaster Colossos at Heide Park actually has the same theme music as Colossus at Thorpe Park too (although a very small section is ever so slightly different).
  11. I think its something to do with in case it breaks down, if there is less than 15 people and it cuts out it ends up with the seats directly up in the air (pointing north) whereas with more than 15 it will stop to the left (I think) meaning it is not as uncomfortable for people as being stuck directly up in the air.
  12. Interesting find, Seems strange as the area is so empty. No trees, X\\:No Way Out or Colossus in the background.
  13. I also think they need to get some gardners in there to cut the weeds and grass. It is awful at the moment and starting to cover some of the themeing.
  14. Crumba is a good name! But you should say the full name Crumba Crapids.
  15. Now that I would love a billion times more than Rumba Rapids!Looking at the top picture and the trees it makes me think this would be good in the Dark Forest at Alton Towers! I say get rid of Conga River Rapids and add something like that in the Dark Forest.

    Thorpe Farm

I think there was a planning application for the farm area a few years ago to use it as an area to grow plants/ shrubs etc for the park.
  17. Hmmm, apart from Tidal Wave I am finding it difficult to believe the rest for the following reason.Saw: The ride has always been busy even on quiet days - Were yiu the last person in the queue and had to go in a seperate car?Slammer - As others have mentioned it needs to be balancedSamurai - I am sure they don't operate with any less than 15 people (unless testing in which case it is 0 people)Only ride I have been on alone was X:\\ No way out in April this year.
  18. This one has been out of action for a few hours on every single one of my three visits throughout august but at least it has not been continuously down for weeks like previous years,
  19. Yes that is exactly the reason, they are now using just one line up the stairs inside instead of the two queues up the stairs. It is not very good in my opinion because no one gets the experience of being made jump by the shotgun from standing underneath.I think it should go back to using that section to queue and using the right hand side up the stairs again for the fasttrack.
  20. I have never seen The Simpsons Movie or any other film before (my last visit was monday this week). All I have seen on the screens recently is random facts, ride facts, mastercard advert with hulk rollercoaster, burger king advert etc.
  21. Of course I know that it is the maintence position silly, I was just making a joke as it looked wierd. I have been following theme parks for well over 12 years so do understand how rides work and what positions they go in!
  22. Glad they are working on it so soon! It does look messed up, I am just picturing it spinning and then going into that position
  23. Look on the positive side of things, the cherry picker was sent over in preparation for them to shortly fix the ride so can only be a good sign even if nothing happened yesterday. With the cherry picker already there they can begin fixing it ASAP when the new part or whatever is needed has arrived. They will want to get it up and running ASAP.
  24. Yes I guess the ropes would have been there since it went down, But my main point was that it would hopefully be back up and running soon as a cherry picker was sent over half way through the day (nothing happening, it just sat there)
  25. The middle of the ride is currently being held down in the loading position by thick metal ropes. Also today a cherry picker was sent over and parked outside Samurai so I think that they will be sorting it out tomorrow. There was also a few workers standing on the platform having a video/pictures taken of them, wierd.
