Maybe the interior is all lit up with shiny new lights
  2. Must be a bit nippy up there at the moment...

Well on the positive side... At least they are continuing construction after the ridiculous amount of snow they had to deal with...
  4. I just can't believe they would advertise in such a busy area, And if anyone is interested one of the photoshoot images are being used on the 2 FOR 1 website,
  5. You don't really notice it but you come very close to the blades when they are spinning
  6. Well, it's not a matter of cold coaster or warm coaster it is mechanically speaking not possible. It is the same with any mechanical object, if it's too cold it won't start/will take longer than usual to start. And Colossus being 11 years old isn't exactly modern, SAW because the lightness of the cars and the bulk of them are more prone to stalling as they are easily affected (and also in Saw's case the motor won't start)
  7. http://www.piccadillylights.com/content/pdf/research.pdf Just saying.... over 650,000 pedestrians alone walk through Piccadilly. Mr Fish thank you for the PDF
  8. Mmmm okay, Well then.... I'm stumped. Literally. Piccadilly Circus is one of the busiests places in London where millions of people yearly pass through. Hundreds every minute of every day will look at The Swarm on the BILLBOARD (which you say they should do, as they are I'm not sure what your issue is) and think Oh The Swarm at Thorpe Park I'll check that out. They will ask their friends about it who will ask their friends about it who will ask their friends so eventually the 52 million or whatever it is that live in London will know about The Swarm. So how is it not the best way to advertise? Since when did advertising/marketing NOT have a key objective to get to as many people as possible? Seriously....
  9. So your admitting to not knowing then?
  10. In Colossus's case anything below 4 degrees is a no go, it will very likely stall on the final bend before the 10th Inversion. Same with Saw (Don't know the actual temperature) but the lift motor won't start below a certain temperature.
  11. Woah woah waoh wait... Last I checked Piccadilly Circus is just a giant LED billboard. Shot yourself in the foot there
  12. Oh please, they've been doing two for ones every year for years now. Get with the times! Marketing is a massive deal for all attractions worldwide and Piccadilly Circus is an awesome spot to advertise particularly when thorpe have a cracking contract with thorpe that's even going years now.
  13. This is worse than the February Half Term line up, I know it's probably not the right train in thinking but they may as well close until more rides are available, not many people will want to go as it is!
  14. Don't know if anyone saw this but two of gatekeepers trains are assembled and on the track.
  15. Some rides including Colossus and Saw will likely be late by a couple of hours. Most flats should open on time unless engineering haven't completed their morning checks
  16. To be honest, crash pad (based on 4 people) at £64pp Two days entry to the park worth £49.20 each Breakfast included Evening entertainment Bringing the park tickets into the equations = £64 - £49.20 = £14.80 - plus breakfast totalling on a normal day around £5/£6. after deductions of what you would pay separately your essentially paying (for the room) a mere £10 roughly. Travelodge (based on Staines, on four people) - (usual price) £56 for a double room Bed £56 + £49.20 + Mcdonalds Breakfast at £20 (roughly) = £110.20 Splitting the room bill and breakfast up it comes to £15.25 + park tickets per person for two days is £64.45 Not a massive difference really when you get a bit more than a travelodge. If you want evening entertainment at a travelodge you have to go out and spend more money. I think Crash Pad isn't ALL that bad.
  17. I used to enjoy coke and tango, not had in in about 3 years though, might have to whip it out again
  18. Well yes.... Not really any other way to put it but okay then
  19. Towers should be fun for guests tomorrow.

It's quite amusing that they didn't put the support up to support the incline into the second part of the inversion. Anyone would think that Supports weren't necessary.
  21. No, I am in Southampton with a hangover. SORRRY!
  22. Generally speaking any ride and can run in cold weather, however to get them started you need a minimum temperature. For example, Colossus needs a minimum of 4 degrees to go otherwise there is a strong possibility it will stall throughout the circuit. Nemesis Inferno also can be a bit funny below 2 degrees (I think?). Saw is just Saw and will stall even on hot days so..... But, when they get going they are usually alright.
  23. As far as I know, no I'm afraid
