So stupid, especially as nothing is actually going to replace it next year.

We found Hellgate!

The Inception soundtrack is now playing in the Inferno station. Bittersweet though, since the queue has the Saw music booming, while the station music is barely audible.

I think I hyped this up beyond what I really should have but some reviewers were saying it was the scariest maze they have done, including the ones outside of theme parks. Nope. The start was great and the actors weren't just in your face scares but managed to pull off intimidating whole rooms of people. Also switching around people from the left and right group was effective so I was only with one other person I knew but then going together in the gas chamber the effect was kind of lost. I really don't find being locked in a small space scary when you're in a group, especially when one of our now group of three we didn't know and was shouting "WHERE IS MAH FAM!" The tunnel was more a case of Thorpe breaking another barrier but it did work. The strobe corridors were good and the actors were going crazy but the end just pattered out. I can see why; it's hard to work out a good finale that works with splintered groups but you should still try! Put an actor in chains, turn up the strobes and even more in that section and get them jumping around and grabbing at people. This maze is very good, especially when you see how short and simple the layout is. In a few years it should be excellent, if the kinks are sorted out.

Coincidence! I just finished season 1. The second half is amazing. Best comedy airing at the moment.

If this is true then Thorpe really are missing a huge trick; being able to improve atmosphere at no extra cost apart from time searching for suiting songs. Off the top of my head, Hanz Zimmer, James Horner, Henry Jackman, Alan Silvestri and as you said, Danny Elfman all have brilliant soundtracks that could work very well.

Inflation! Also, Merlin I don't ever qualified what was in the budget. Remember costs of acquiring the IP, infilling the lake, etc. The coaster is only one part of the cost. People just seem to think cost = quality so PR jump on it.

I hope it's the original Japanese version.

In terms of scariness, HHN at Universal has so many visitors that people are disbatched in larger groups and in some videos it just looks like a constant stream people, meaning quite often you see the scare actors way before they get to you. In terms of themeing though, their efforts look out of this world. This forces less shock scares and more atmospheric setpieces, which I see as a good thing. This for example, is an Edgar Allen Poe maze set from this year. Also, for Orlando at least, the 6ish Scarezones and 8ish Mazes change every year.

Torchwood: Great first half, terrible second half.Doctor Who: Very few TVs seem to be able to get their pacing right. For American shows, they are normally too slow with plenty of filler episodes where nothing really happens. With Moffat at Who's reigns, he just tries to put far too much in. I don't normally watch Confidential but seeing as this was the end of a 2 part season, I had a hunch there would be some sort of story summary. Sure enough, River's story had about 15 minutes devoted to it, with Moffat smugly saying at one point "I've never found River's timeline confusing". I'd hope so as one of the guys running the show.RIVER SORT OF SPOILERSHer arc could have neatly ended if they had used the flashbacks and voiceovers from Confidential showing the young girl in the spacesuit and regenerating, being with Amy at school, Cleopatra, leading up to her death in the library. I didn't remember stuff from the first episode of the season and I doubt many people did unless they watched it recently.SORT OF SPOILERS OVERIn fact, the pirate ship episode should have been axed and the finale could have been a 2 parter.

Well one was due to getting us off the ride while the attendant and queue jumpers were having an argument (we were in the station waiting to be dispatched when it kicked off). There were quite a few empty trains throughout the day though and I didn't see the ride go down. Weird.

Basically doing this in the hope that someone at Thorpe reads it and takes the points into consideration. So me, Ellie, Dan and Tommy went to Thorpe yesterday and for three of us it was the first trip since the infamous AP day this March. While, the park was being run better than that day, I still basically only enjoyed the day because of the people I was with. The Good:A great operator on Detonator who was getting us to do the Mexican wave and other antics on the ride before he would drop us. We went to Guest Services to give him positive feedback. This a great thing to do, especially when the queue is short. There is now someone batching people into rows on Inferno so there are less empty seats going round. The water effect by the loop was working as well. There is a new system for online photos. Rather than paying £2 to 'unlock' the download for a photo, you can download any photos you have bought for free and can buy other stuff. Extra prints are 15p I think. The Bad:The music throughout the park is an utter state. Chart music is fine at the entrance and bridge but the fact it's now past the dome and in the beach is just ridiculous. Even if it was themed music, to have it playing that loudly in the dome at the end of day when most people have had a long, tiring day just isn't going to be appreciated. Also, having Flying Fish playing the same music is just insane. I am sure parents love taking their kids on a ride blaring rap and drum and bass music. The new Creek soundtrack has some pretty ridiculous songs as well. Seeing as how compact and bare some of the areas of the park are (and with Sunken Gardens closed off), I really got a Six Flags vibe which is a road the part really do not want to be walking down. The park's iconic ride down all day again. It's not really surprising anymore which kind of shows its terrible reputation. The staff at the entrance to the area really need a new line. ‎"I have been told it will definitely be open today" just isn't suitable. The X changes have just made it even more of a mess. The inside queue is silent apart from one random corner and the ride area only seems to have one large speaker. Nice idea but that and a few lights on on MCBR don't really cut it. Being able to see all the track just sort of takes away from the experience. Also, one guy was trying to batch people into rows and check bars (once again, nice idea but the batching actually just confused people and slowed down the throughput instead of speeding it up) while there were two people at offload, one of which seemed like they were doing very little.Inferno lights and smoke are fixed... in about a quarter of the tunnel. I'd rather have an effect that works 99% of the time rather than something which just seems to fail over and over. There was one member of staff who completely lost it at someone who jumped over the front row queue fence and into the normal queue of Colossus. A telling off is fair but she went berserk which just set the massive group the guy was with off, resulting in security having to be called.

Dont Tell The Bride @ THORPE PARK
Deleted Users replied to jjh123horry's question in Quick Questions
"Why the hell are we at Thorpe Park on my Wedding Day?!"It seems likely. -
I really want to know what the reasoning was for adding chart music to the two last family/child friendly areas of the park. Fish being on the same link seems like a damn good reason not to change it.
-
Basically the only reason to go in? Yep. Worth it? Yep.
-
I love how the people who were saying that it looked like a fun ride and ignored the glaring flaws at the start of season now hate it as well
-
Personally I think Thorpe have simplified their target audience far too much. All of my friends who have been to both Thorpe and Alton prefer Alton because of the better themeing, variety of rides and atmosphere. Some of the decisions for Fright Nights last year were just bizarre. Changing the soundtracks to the Halloween versions costs nothing and yet this only happened after people complained. Barely any added themeing and white tents means Thorpe really think most people don't care about atmosphere at all I guess.
-
Maintaining that many lights is a complete nightmare I guess, with quite a lot of reports over the last few years that it's a shadow of its former self. A lot of lights just don't work anymore. Whether they can be fixed is another matter.

For those who are wondering how good the light show used to be on the Paris RnRhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRwRdmzjOlQ&list=FLziwy3hTUA9C_IwO48tODiQ&index=3

They way you phrased just sounded like you had watched an advert. I don't remember any fart comedy apart from one really short but horrible moment.

In this thread, people post photos they have been tagged in from Mikey's Florida trip relating to in jokes.

Undisclosed Desires is fine on the CD but personally, it was the biggest let down of both Wembley and Reading, espeically when played right next to Resistance. MK Jam is a very good intro though and the rotating spaceship at Wembley was great for it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH4tQ8K1evM&list=PLA9ED64CD81461972&index=12&feature=plpp DeeThreeDee on youtube does great recordings.Kick Ass and Tron soundtracks are both great. Daft Punk was a great choice for Tron.
