No, I'm spotifying it right now.
  2. If there is no traffic, the journey will take 10 minutes. During rush hour, the journey can take up to 45 minutes. I think the first bus leaves Staines station at 9am, and they depart from the station every 20 - 30 minutes or so.
  3. I believe it's 9.00am.Yes, £3 for a return.
  4. They probably didn't hand out fastracks for that very reason. The fact that if you hadn't been in the queue, you wouldn't be in the park was probably seen as a benefit to you from TP's point of view.
  5. A very good trip report James, it was a very good read and thank you for taking the time out to write it, along with the pictures. It's a shame to see such a low ride count, and that overall you didn't enjoy your day. I hope your friend is OK now, it's such a shame when you have to see some of the bad consequences of anti-social behavior in the queue lines. I mean how hard is it to follow a simple instruction?I'm visiting Thorpe next week, so I will post a trip report and let you know if my day is similar. And also, about the Now 56 blaring out, you'll be pleased to know that it's just for Sun Scream, and the audio themes will be back to normal in September. But I do agree, even though it's only for one month and there is an event on, the proper themes should be played as, let's face it, we are in a theme park. Anyway, again a very nice trip report. It really helps when you go into so much detail, and your reports are always a pleasure to read. It's a shame the same can't be said for your trip.
  6. At least you're not queuing in time that could be used for other rides.... the park's been shut for 30 minutes already!
  7. Wow, that really does look incredible! That's definitely been added to my list of must do roller coasters.
  8. I'm intrigued, looking forward to that report!
  9. When I get to the park, I'll be going straight to Vampire. :)Another question I have.... Does Chessington open its admission booths (ticket sales) 30 minutes before park opening like Thorpe Park does? (At 9.30am)

I agree with that as well! It's a great time filler, but not something I would queue for, over other attractions if longer than 10/15 minutes.
  11. Some of the news reports say it was around 2-3 hours. In other news, I'm going to Chessington on Sunday!
  12. Oh, I didn't notice that until today. In the video there was a member of staff asking the person filming to stop, yet they carried on. Maybe the footage was found and removed, I don't know.

This might be a bit of a stupid question, but I haven't travelled on the train very much in the past. Can someone tell me.... Will the online prices be the same if you buy them at the starting station on the day?I'll give you my example. I go onto South Eastern, and type in for example :Depart: Station AArrive: Station Band it gives me a quote of £12.45 for example. If I go into Station A on the day of the journey, and ask for 1 child ticket to Station B, will the price be the same as originally quotes on the site? Or will it be more? Many thanks, Paul.

I love that, and Back to Good is another classic.
  16. That's very interesting, I didn't know that.
  17. You'll have to wait and see!

    Agree completely.
  19. There is a video clip from youtube posted by me further up this page, which shows a Safari Skyway train evacuation.
  20. I've stayed in both hotels, and a B&B a couple of minutes away. It's a completely different experience when you stay in one of the Alton Towers hotels. It's definitely adds to the atmosphere, you must try it one day.
  21. Yes Lol, "Near a Lion enclosure" is my favourite bit! Here is a short clip from youtube of a family being evacuated from Skyway, if anyone's interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9APJzS7WRk...feature=related

Did anyone go to Thorpe Park today? My friend is trying to tell me that the SAW queue was 2 hours 50 minutes. He is known for his constant lying , and I don't believe him at all! Can anyone prove me wrong and confirm this?
  23. Both hotels are very good. The Alton Towers Hotel is better though, in terms of comfort and original theming. Splash Landings is good too, although I didn't find the rooms very comfortable.
  24. I really want to go, but I will be on holiday. I'm looking forward to the next one already!Maybe we could do some smaller mini unofficial meet-ups in the future?
